Instead of getting up on a step, I'd be lowering the bottom of the tank. Working on a step is dangerous. If you can't dig a hole and have it drain, the next best would be to build a work platform around the tank, so you can walk around it and take a quick step backwards without losing your footing. Breaking your leg or your neck falling off that step would take a distressing splash burn to a whole new level of bad day at work.
@@Ashby_Farms_NC To slide a burner under the tank, I'd make the hole longer than the tank by enough to have the burner and its connections at the same level - and a grille or trapdoor over the end of the hole once the burner is in place so the hole isn't a trip hazard. But I reckon what the industry is missing is electric water heaters in the right scale. An electric kettle on 240v can boil water for a cup of tea faster than a gas stovetop kettle can, so we just need to scale it up. And then we won't have to worry about boiling wax overflowing or spilling onto a naked flame.

Which waxes are you using from them. Just had a tank made. Looking the correct wades to add in now. They have a lot of waxes all different melt points.
