Some other options to add to your flowers' water.
- Put about ¼ cup of sprite or 7-Up in the water. The sugar will make them bloom longer.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of sugar before adding flowers. The vinegar minimizes the growth of bacteria.
- Mix in a few drops of vodka and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Like vinegar, the vodka minimizes the growth of bacteria.
- Mix in ¼ teaspoon of bleach per litre of water. This will also inhibit the growth of bacteria.
- Add a copper penny and a cube of sugar to the water. The penny acts like a acidifier.
- Mist the underside of the leaves and petals with hairspray. It will help your flowers look fresh longer.
