ari a if the teacher is a man, they love their job just as much as a teacher who's a woman. they would probably love a handmade card. Day planners and Journals are always a great idea as well.
DoItOnaDime a personalized note WITH a gift card....I mean when parents can't afford to get teachers gifts I understand but if they can they really should give something useful. You can't go wrong with a gift card.
I just received a gift today that was in an orange bag and it had a paper orange slice on it and in the middle of the slice read "Orange you glad you're an a-mason teacher!" Inside the bag was a mason jar with a straw and handle and inside was filled with everything orange - peach crystal light tea, orange tic tacs, orange trident gum, orange hand sanitizer, and orange sunscreen. Then taped on the outside of the jar was a $25 gift card to Target. Seriously one of the sweetest gifts ever. I really appreciate the creativity! :)
Weirdest teacher gift I ever got was lingerie...from one of the dad's...ick! And the best was a spa day package which included mani/pedi and massage...my class gave it to me before my wedding!
That was a really nice piece! When my daughters were in kindergarten & elementary school the end of the year was so hard. I loved every teacher and cried like a baby when it was time to say goodbye!! They are ALL so special taking our precious ones through the world of learning!!
Our teachers in Arizona did a walkout earlier this month and now theyve worked out a deal of 20% raise by 2020 from our governor Doug Ducey... yay! finally!! ❤️ #REDforED !
its so not fair. football players make so much throwing a leather ball and then teachers give children an education which affects their lives forever and make like no money. they deserve more.
Potato74 Tracy People don’t pay (other than property tax, no choice) to watch teachers teach but pay big bucks to watch football. Do you the NFL, or any of the players for that matter, would really give some of their big earnings to teachers? I highly doubt it!
My mom is a teacher, and one year all of her students got our whole family a night at a really fancy hotel. It's a nice idea to ask the whole class to contribute to one big gift.
My son will be in 2nd grade and since he was in preschool, I've always asked his teacher what types of stuff she likes, her fave snack, color, food, drinks etc. and it gives me an idea what to get for her for Christmas, birthday, teacher appreciation week, a just because gift and end of year. I would rather get them a gift I know they are going to use and love. ☺️😊 I've always invested in my son's teachers because they are investing in his education for the years to come. ☺️😊
I had to watch the video twice, I was getting tips for my daughters teachers then at the end I felt like crying, It was so emotional, so precious... omg I'm gonna miss my daughter's teachers more than her lol she is really good!
I don't think it matters what you give, it's the thought that counts. Last year I received three boxes of Hazelnut chocolates and even though I couldn't eat them because I'm allergic it was really heart warming to receive the gifts especially since I was just a member of the after school club, not an actual teacher but I was always happy with hugs and cards from the children (which I still have hanging up on my wall)
Such a heartfelt, beautiful video. Teachers truly are amazing at what they do everyday and the patient they have is beyond amazing. ❤ Thank you to all the teachers.
At the beginning of the school year, I had my daughter's teacher fill out a survey for me with her favorite colors, snacks, restaurants, starbucks/jamba juice drink, school supply, bath & body works scent, etc... throughout the year for every occassion (valentines, christmas, teacher appreciation, her birthday) we gave her something off her list. I was told through a friend who teaches at the same school that she was so blessed by the thoughtfulness and really appreciated that! It felt wonderful to be able to give her things that she really would love. I plan to do this every year with each of my kids' teachers... it makes gift giving so much easier!
My mum is a Year 1 teacher (in England) and she mainly gets wine and chocolate, never gift cards! English parents clearly aren't as inventive as American, haha!
DreamyGirl73 One of the reasons American teachers like gift cards is because they use the money to improve their classrooms. Teachers spend a lot of their own money on supplies for their class.
We normally get teachers gift cards in junior school but there was one teacher who was spending it on his kids so we got him something he couldn't use for his kids....some pretend beach umbrellas for his beard 😂😂😂
DreamyGirl73 haha, my mum always does a collection with nearly all of the parents in my class, and then buys a gift card (we live in England as well) so she can spend it. Also the children get gifts for the teacher as well!
Loved this video! I am also a Preschool Teacher. I work at a lower income family center so we never really get gifts. But one thing I wish they would give is thank you cards! My school is open year long and even on holidays (christmas eve, new years eve etc). Just a simple note from the child and parent showing that they appreciate my work means the world! :)
Every year the teacher I get usually get lucky because my parents love to go on trips to Paris, Spain, Italy... so those teacher’s usually get something form the trip. Also I love giving those gifts 🎁 especially when they have bad day’s the smile 😀 is the only gift back I need. I love you teachers from my past and my grade 5 teacher this year.
teachers have such a challenging job, everyday is different. they should be paid so much more for what they do. we always give my kids teachers and the nurse gift cards. they have visa gift cards that can be used anywhere. they seem to really appreciate it.
I'm a teacher-to-be! I'm still working on my Elementary Special Ed degree, but my mom worked as an aide in an elementary school last year and was shocked by getting gifts even though she wasn't actually a teacher, she had quite the loads at Christmas and the end of the year. Pretty sure the gift cards were her favorite gifts too, places like Target or Starbucks (or maybe even Michaels?) make great teacher gifts.
as a pre school assistant teacher, this video was so helpful and sweet! our moving-up ceremony is this monday and I'm so excited yet sad. i know I'm going to cry!
My boy isn't in school yet but my mind races towards the future and I remember things like this for years to come so thank you in advance for making this helpful video!
OMG i was choking in the end....that was really precious message by Presley (I hope I spelled it right) I'm a teacher and heartfelt messages like that one do mean the world to us :-)
The historic downtown we live in sells Downtown Dollars which are good at any of the downtown businesses that accept them. They are always a great gift for teachers or anyone any time throughout the year because they can use it at any of the shops or restaurants and don't expire. They're also great because they can shop in multiple places. Many downtowns might have this so it is worth looking for.
If I was Presley's teacher I would move on to kindergarten and first grade and second grade and third grade and fourth grade and fifth grade then be a middle school teacher then a high school teacher then a collage teacher to stare and be Presley's teacher
I'm an Infant & Toddler educator. we LOVE your kids. they each hold a special place in our hearts. I have to agree that gift certificates are the bomb. Something hand picked by the child is amazing as well. One of my favourite gifts was a little purple JellyCat brand bunny with a ballerina skirt (I've been dancing since I was 10). My little friend who gave it to me said "this is perfect for Sarah!"
I always made a huge effort. I would bake and ice cookies (not to boast but they looked good, like not just a blob, properly rolled and cut fondant) and pick some flowers from the garden and decorate a jar and write a little note to go with it all.
Of topic here but I NEED to know where your shirt is from... I LOVE it. cute little video, so nice to interview the teacher :) I am struggling right now on my teacher gift :( I hope to come up with something soon.
I remember I made a bookmark for one of my math teachers before. It took a while to make and I was really proud of how it turned out. Even put a personal message on the back for her and she looked like she wanted to cry when I gave it to her!
Love the video, I work at a summer school and the amount of generic gifts we get are lovely but the super thoughtful ones are so awesome, I still have handwritten cute letters from kids ect from years ago..x
Cool people never think about how many thing viewers there are I mean like whatsupmoms has so many kids who watch there videos. I mean I was 11 when I posted that and now I'm 13
I think jewelry, candles, and gift cards are always the best gift to gift to your teacher. I used to give that kind of stuff but now I'm homeschooled so yeah.
I once had 3 kids in the same school. in addition to homeroom teachers, there were teachers for gym, music, art, library, etc. with permission from the principal, our end of year gift was a last day of school early breakfast - fresh bagels, flavored cream cheese, fresh fruit, juices and coffee for all school staff. it was affordable and very much a huge hit!
Cool gifts=hair bands-(printed ones*Michaels store has some), gift cards from Target, Home Goods, Restaurant, or Movies for two. also cute water tumbler for summer, key chains, a movie (comedy or drama) or send a list to kid with a list of things teacher will like. I was a teacher's assistant & kids will ask me what are thing I like or enjoy.
My mom is a teacher and her first class made her a mirror with each student having a little portion to decorate and we still have it in our bathroom. I think it’s so sweet
In all seriousness though, you should never give an animal as a gift, especially to someone who is NR expecting it or didn't ask, because they are a huge responsibility.
We always give crafts, because even if the teacher doesn't keep it or like it, it was something fun and creative my child gets to do for someone else. Sorry teachers. Lol.
Loulou We've never had a teacher not appreciate the gifts we make. I was simply saying that instead of just blindly buying something they may or may not like that the positive out of it was my child enjoyed their time spent making something for someone else. It teaches them to take time and put thought into the gift for that person instead of buying a gift card and being done with it. I'm not obligated to give anything so I choose to make it a fun experience for my child.
What a simple, elegant and a superb video. Elle you are my role model. I am a mom to a baby girl of 17 months and a RU-vidr from India. Your channel is my inspiration! Keep up the great work and keep smiling!
I've watched all your videos Elle and this one tops it off. Thanks for honouring us (teachers) so much. Today is my last day of the school year and it was nice to see this video. Great to see we are appreciated. Aloha
Also a teacher here..gift cards to somewhere like walmart or target are great gifts! as well as cards or something edible..but not candy..like tea or hot chocolate..
