I have used scrapes in the backing of quilts. Also have made place mats. I call them bonus projects.

Tiny scraps collected for pet bed stuffing. Scraps over 2 inches collected for collage. Scraps over 4 inches used for scrappy leader ender blocks.

I keep working my Scraps down to the next size. I sew some smaller ones together to make bigger units. I stuff things with the teeny tiny ones

Other than in smaller quilts, we have used them to tie vines on the fence to train them.

I was thinking about doing a Tony quilt. Then I found Bonnie Hunters Bitcoin pattern. It uses 1 1/2 inch strips. It's perfect to get rid of my scraps and unwanted fabric. And as always it is easy to cut with the stripology ruler.

I cut 2.5" or 1.5" strips, maybe squares, with leftovers. Solid or batik slivers of 0.5" cut for couching. True scraps are gathered for dog beds.

I cut leftover fabric (less than a fat quarter) into usable strips: 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2" or other, if saving for a specific project. They are saved in plastic drawers, in a method like Gudrun or Bonnie Hunter have shown. I do my fabric-pulls from those strips first for most projects! Scrap strips smaller than 1 1/2" are gathered by color and sewn onto 6 1/2" foundation squares until the stockpile builds enough to make a quilt.

I save every scrap. If I can't make it into something useable for myself or someone else, it goes into a bag for dog bed stuffing.

I use the Bonnie Hunter Scrap User System. Then I look for leader and ender projects to use the scraps.

I save all scraps, however my scrap policy is never to cut them into “usable” sizes until I’m preparing for a specific project. My experience has been that by cutting scraps down ahead of use means that in sorting through them over and over to find exactly what I need, they have become extremely frayed at the edges and I then need to deal with untidy threads all over. So my tip is wait and cut as required.

I save and try to use my bigger scraps, but my small pieces that I consider too small to use are donated to my quilt shop where they are used to fill dog beds.

If it is sewable I will keep it. If too small I collect them and give to a friend who makes sleep beds for the local animal shelter.

I love making crumb blocks with my scraps but because of you & Pat Sloan, I cut mine into 2 1/2" squares, 1 1/2" & 2 1/2" strips 😊😊 The strip sizes are great for making potholders!

I use everything, I make fabric with my off cuts and even the tiniest pieces get used as filler for stuffy toys and pincushions. I try not to put anything into the landfill.

I save 1" and 1.5" squares for a friend 2" and 2.5" and bigger for my scrap quilts and hexies. Odd and smaller scraps foe pet beds mu chuech makes.

I make strip blocks 4 - 6.5 strip blocks make a 12 + square block and I love to make bars 6.5 x 6.5. one is cross ways, x's 10 and One is up/down to fit Anne Beck
