I'm honestly surprised at how many people HADN'T heard this song before Insidious. I've known about if since I was like 8 and think of it as silly fun, not scary or disturbing.
The song is stuck in my head, however I never remember hearing the song before a couple days ago when I started singing the tune. Never seen insidious, so I guess I remembered it subconsciously
In my case was the totally opposite cos i have heard the song before and i was like WTF?? this song took all the possible scariest moment into a joke..at least that was my impression when i heard the song ..
Not at all, I can totally see myself running through a field of flowers. This song I guess seems dark because people see Tiny Tim as an 'evil' person. I don't know really though.
The strange thing is that Tiny Tim died right after performing this song. He was performing a show at a club in Minnesota where he performed several songs that he wrote and eventually ending with tiptoe through the tulips. After he was done singing tiptoe through the tulips he walked off stage imminently and told his wife that he was not feeling well. He passed out right in front of her and died an hour later.
I know this song since childhood. Since way back the 90's, I used to go to our grandparent's old place to be looked after my grandma, since she's also alone in that house. And they have this gramophone that wasn't being used for a long time. But whenever the clock strikes at 12, this song is being played. I guess my grandma used it as my lullaby. Up until now, during midnight, they said that grandma still plays this song. And she passed away 6 years ago.
I found tiny tim again love his music and his famous song so happy care free stress just goes away when I hear it or sing it. It is a pretty song well done
After a particularly scary Call of Cthulhu session, the GM played this and it was truly terrifying. Images of Ghouls and Devils spring to mind when I hear this.
Those who say it’s a scary song is because when you heard it you were scared so now when you hear this song it correlates with you as being scared now. Those who say it makes them happy is because when you were in a happy moment or calm moment this brought some happy chemicals in your brain aka endorphins so when you hear this song it stimulates that part of the brain. Same with being scared. It stimulates the part of the brain that was causing you to be scared.
