We have used the TST tpms even though our RV came with one. I think either the Tire Minder or TST are a must. Our RAM has a tire pressure monitor, however it doesn't alert you if there is an issue. However add sensors and the TST will monitor it as well

Do you keep your tire pressure at what the door sticker state or do you add pressure. Another great video.

I usually keep them pretty close to the door sticker. I have put them as high as 100 psi but when heated up in the summer I’ve seen psi get as high as 115. So I usually keep them between 90 and 95 psi. That way there’s more room for when the pressure increases. Thanks for watching!

@@RunawayRosesfyi buddy, when tires are at max load, that’s when you should be at max PSI. that’s when they’re cold. They account for the fact that they heat up and therefore increase in pressure. The thing one should really be concerned about is altitude change. Not too much of an issue over in your part of the country but where I’m at, I could set my pressures at 5,000 ft then be at almost 11,000 ft if I went up on the beartooth highway for a weekend trip so it’s something to keep in mind (tire air pressure increases with altitude). But I’d say 90 is a good number to be at because I highly doubt you’re going to be at 15,640 lbs on your rear axle anytime soon 😆. I despise when dealerships or tire shops air up to max pressures when the tires aren’t even getting close to that. Tire pressures correspond directly to weight. G rated tires are a bit more finicky but it’s still partially true. Rode the first 500 miles unladen in my new 5500 and the dealership had those fricken things maxed out at 110 psi cause that’s what the door sticker says. Ugh. I felt every crack in that road.

@@downbytheriver501 I agree with you on the tire pressure. However, that is a good point about the altitude may increase the pressure. I haven't thought about that, but I don't have that problem here in the southeast. Driving around at 110 psi unloaded sound like no fun. That makes for a rough ride. Even 90 psi unloaded makes for a rough ride. It's amazing how much better these trucks ride with some weight on them. Safe Travels!

@@RunawayRoses thanks y'all. I hope my 9-6 LE will weigh enough! maybe I'll carry a couple hundred extra gallons of water just to make the ride a bit better along with the TC hahahah

I spent an hour scrolling through every feature on my truck (ram 5500 limited) in the infotainment systems only to come to the conclusion that it doesn’t come with TPMS/TPIS !? What the heck? You’d think a top tier level truck would come with that feature but nope. So frustrating.

That’s really strange I thought all of the Ram 4500 & 5500 had the built in tpms. I had it on our 2022 4500 Laramie. I think all of the four and five class trucks should come standard with TPMS. Thanks for watching!

@@RunawayRoses I agree but the research I’ve done they stopped putting it in around the year of your truck! Penny pinchin bastards! As if trucks aren’t expensive enough these days. I’m surprised they don’t charge for the windshield

I didn't even finish your video before clicking the link for the Tireminder tpms system. I want one. The price slowed me down though, need to think about that. Nice vid Todd.

I have used Tire Minder on my trailers for about five years. Very good product.

Wonder if it can give you an alert when pressure goes below a threshold you set? That would be so nice.
@RunawayRoses

Yes it will give you an alert. As always thanks for watching!

I have something better it is called an air gauge. Easy to use you just walk around your vehicle which everyone should be doing any way and check each tire. $2.99 at walmart.

And you can do all that while driving down the highway at 60mph? I think you have what it takes to be a content creator :) Would love to see the video.

We’ve used Tireminder for several years now and it works great. Ours has the little display that I just keep on the dash. I like the Apple Play feature of this newer model. Very good demo video!!

Todd, when /if you get an tire alarm notification does it come thru the ford sync and give u an alert of any type? I use the dedicated monitor that comes with the other model. if temp/psi goes outside of set parameters it will be and flash and give audible alarm. Im interested providing i would get alarms and not have to constantly toggling thru apps. hope all is well with and yours.

Hello Todd, I really enjoyed viewing your vlog and appreciate the time you spend making videos. I noticed your batteries "sweating" acid when hood was open and want to make a recommendation. I own a 2019 Ford F-350 diesel dually (my Double D) and switched to Diehard AGM batteries. Please consider doing the same. Have a great summertime and safe travels!
