Amid the Tirumala Prasadam Row, the Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Shyamala Rao addresses the media in a Live press conference. He clearly stated that this was the first time in the history of TTD that a sample was sent out for lab testing and also confirmed that the report showed beef tallow, fish oil, and lard. He also confirmed that the suppliers have been warned they will be black-listed if 'animal fat' is found again and said that an in-house testing system will be installed in the temple to ensure the quality of the Prasadam.

Tender should be decided first on quality of ghee n then the price factor. I have visited the temple since employed in 1965 in Bombay every time I visit south n the laddur in those times r really best as compared to present days. EO should ensure that it is prasadam only n not for sale to devoted devotees on commercial line to get more money.

Presentation of the report is casual, without any serious concern! TTD and the government should not let it pass like any other public matter. A serious, thorough investigation should be initiated forthwith by a team consisting of upright and effective officers. All those involved in this most heinous crime; the political class, TTD officials who are the decision makers, those sourcing materials and make purchase, the stores personnel and those engaged in the mixing and cooking; at each level it should be deeply probed and those involved should be meted out the most stringent punishment as decided not only by the courts, but also by the Bhaktas!

Last 5 years the past government was sleeping in June when new government formed they started to test the supplies and this came out.
