Me too!! We have a few new Tisas model reviews coming out this month, as well as a Tisas Demo Range day Mar 23rd. If you’re interested in these, come out and shoot one on us!
Because I'm 30 years old and retired army due to medical bullshit (something about too many concussions from vehicle roll overs) I just slammed a case (-ish) of Federal 147gr through mine over a range day because I get bored, have disposable income, and decided fuck it. For the record I have the 5 inch barrel version and attached a holosun 407k. 2 malfunctions. The first one was in the first magazine and is basically my fault. I bought the pistol a couple days ago and me being a knuckle dragger totally forgot to clear the packing grease off. So at the range, I disassemble and hosed her off with some Lucas CLP (spray can) and wiped it down with a rag from the back of my truck. After that we spritzed every 200-ish rounds, it's an entry level 2011-style pistol (except its not a staccato or bul armory so keep your jorts on) to keep it wet and ready. The 2nd malfunction was possibly our fault? Buddy slammed a magazine home and the slide refused to ride forward, but apparently that's a no-no with these 2011-style pistols? Had to push the magazine out with a knife from the ejection port because the whole thing locked up. After that she ran fine and we were less aggressive on the reloads. I can't remember exactly how many rounds in to the shooting that lock up was. Also, this wasn't a mag dump speed run. We ran the two factory 17 round magazines. Also, if you were at the Cushman Range today in Fairbanks? Thanks to that older guy that ordered the pizza. You're a damn king and introduced me to a new favorite range tradition.
You will have to spend another $1,000 to make the prodigy reliable, and at that sort of investment you can just get a staccato. Love my staccato’s, I shot the prodigy and it continued to jam as a range rental (new to the range though). I plan on getting the Tisas, I won’t risk buying a prodigy
RMR is definitely a widely used optic footprint, with a ton of aftermarket support. I'm not sure, but I think the 1911 slide is too narrow to do a direct RMR cut.
yes these Tisas models would have overhang on the sides with how narrow the slides are. the MAC 9 DS *(also made by Tisas) is wider and has the RMR cut
oh no! I love the trigger and grip on mine. Those are both things I would check out on any firearm before purchasing though. I can never stress enough the importance of getting your hands physically on a gun to see how it suits your hands before buying anything
