The price of these Delugs straps is absolutely ridiculous. My hope is that Tissot makes their own rubber straps and Delugs is forced to drop the price of these.
Having "adopted" the PRX Powermatic 80 Green, it was disappointing the official 2 Tissot straps available (Blue or Black leather). Delugs has a wide variety of straps and materials to play with the look such as a Chevre Tiffany blue, Ostrich green, Stingray black or even one of the finest leathers of the world, the Shell Cordovan seen on many of the Nomos timepieces. Linings, thread color, length and the finish of the buckle you choose really allows you to customize your watch the way you want it.
I guess I need to hit the notification bell on your video. I did the opposite of most and bought the Valjoux based PRX Chrono first - directly from TISSOT I believe it was $1750 - you can look that up. Either way, it has inspired me to have this standard PRX in my collection. About a month ago I discovered Delugs - what an amazing brand, with a product that has an amazing R&D into their offerings. I’ve always liked your videos, so seeing this made me happy. I was taken back by your previous video on the PRX and not liking the dial - we have to admit that hiring Sylvain Dolla was the right choice for TISSOT to grow as a brand. For anyone on the fence about this watch, or the Delugs strap, the value here is insane. PRX isn’t a direct copy, it has the history, and it’s become one of the world’s favorite and best selling watches. Go get it.
Dang, whoever is the first-to-market with a PRX strap that's under $100 will make a boatload of money. Delugs makes good stuff but $165 for rubber with no special clasp is ridiculous. I'm definitely picking up a blue leather strap from Tissot soon since they started selling those on their own, and those are 'only' $55 ea.
$180 is steep. How do you justify a rubber mold strap costing more than a croc strap? Plus seeing how Delugs paid or collab’d with multiple websites and influencers to push this $180 strap on day 1 leaves me uneasy. Reckon if the strap was that great and fairly priced, they wouldn’t need this social media campaign…
Really like the straps, but even though the price in itself is not a problem, the ratio sadly does not make sense to me. At half the price it would be a better value proposition imo.
They are beautiful straps, but quite pricey for the rubber ones at $180. That's 40% of the price of a new PRX Powermatic 80 w/ a leather strap, which I picked-up recently for $440 on sale. $55 for the factory Tissot strap is a relative bargain, I think the pricing edge for this type of aftermarket strap should be around $100 or less to make sense, especially if your PRC is a quartz. You can get a PRC quartz on sale for less than $300!
As someone who has bought numerous straps and $25 bezels for my $68 Vostok, it is absolutely worth it, if you can afford it, to get well made accessories that are half the cost of the watch itself. A nice bezel and strap transformed my Vostok from something I just collected to my primary sports watch. Even got it smashed on rocks while I was rafting and it didnt miss a beat.
The price for these nice-looking straps is wild, to say the least. Prices should come down over time once other strap makers hop on the PRX band wagon.
I think Straps Co will make one of those Dissari FKM rubber strap for these. They will be around $34 each maybe more because of strap cut out design but still buy two get one free type deals. So be patient I say.
I sniped my rose gold PRX Powermatic 80 for just under $400….. should I spend more than $100 on the orange rubber strap? It would probably look stunning but it’s a tough decision to pay that much for for a strap that isn’t even from Tissot, ngl 🤔
The real difference here between this and the leather straps? The taper starts much sooner and looks more "natural" which helps slim this down even more. This is good because this thing is big for most wrists, even average ones.
Just received mine today... it's very comfortable and makes the watch look and feel sporty. Worth every penny in my opinion despite it being a high cost strap.
I hate you. Now I’m gonna go order that strap I said I wouldn’t because they are def too much $ lol. I just got the new Ice Blue version, you think that powder blue strap would look good with it? Or just go grey or black?
it doesnt cause the green dial shifts from dark green to almost black, its hard to make a green strap for a dial so close to black in some lighting conditions, so the strap is noticeably lighter in color that the watch.
AqNaut produces steel strap adapters especially for the PRX at €105 so you can easily fit leather and rubber straps without having to buy this VERY expensive rubber one.
Rubber straps on a metal watch is something i will never understand. Why would you devalue something with plastic if you could use basically every other material on earth. These things look like kids watches. Got that swatch vibe but still a great video ngl
No one pays RRP for the PRX so if you can get a great deal it makes this rubber strap purchase easier on the pocket. In the UK we can pick up the Tissot leather strap for £40. I think it will be a matter of time before they start selling a rubber strap as well.
@@thor9141 hey, I purchased my prx online through an online AD using various voucher codes. Not sure where you live but discounts should be easily available
Not a chance at that price lol same price as a Staib mesh bracelet, just to give an example (which is a super well made bracelet, like Breitling and Omega supplier level, like perfect finishing on the metal). More expensive that some of the best rubber straps out there (e.g., tropic, isofrane). There are awesome FKM rubber and/or vulcanized natural rubber at around 50bucks on the market. Even with fitted endlinks (not for the PRX though). A rubber strap should never cost that much, especially when the watch that it was made for costs "just" a fraction more than the strap itself. I obviously appreciate the work behind it and the "guts" to make what Tissot didn't, but at that price it makes no sense to me, unfortunately.
I’m not normally the kind of pedant to complain that a watch is 2mm too big, but in the case of the PRX I think this is true. 39mm would the the sweet spot. I still think the quartz version is the coolest one.
I own the 41mm gold quartz variant….. nice video and NO $165 is not to much for a rubber strap, it creates a second watch option for the wearer 😊 Heck, I just spent nearly $700.00 for a metal bracelet and rubber strap a few hours ago for my ML Aikon….. the watch is over 2 yrs old and I have always wanted the bracelet to go with the leather strap I got with the watch. Now I have have multiple options for a vacation with my watch 😊 Good video btw
I ordered and received a baby blue strap.. For 180$ it's just very very overpriced.. I bought an Omega rubber strap for 70$ trust me it's more awesome then this one for 180$...idk what are they thinking but 😢
"So if your wrist is pushing 8" the medium might not work for you. You absolute behemoth." I see my whining about my 8" wrist is finally getting noticed lmao
Not worth it. The quick release knob broke off within 10 minutes of receiving the strap. I found it a bit awkward and finnicky to put on as well, bracelet was much easier. Once on the wrist it's solid and looks good but very disappointed so far. Delugs have offered to send a replacement spring bar but I don't have too much confidence in it lasting long term.
About 1:50 look at the poor quality of the bottom of the white strap and the top of the green strap where they connect to the watch. Buy genuine Tissot I would suggest.
It makes absolutely no sense as to why they would make rubber straps that are 25% of the total cost of the PRX and completely pass on making straps for the considerably more expensive chronograph, where straps of that cost might make more sense. This just seems like a complete swing and miss.
YoureTerrific: please don't make chronograph version straps so I don't buy a chronograph. Delug Product Planning: I missed the part where that's my problem.
na 165 is just bonkers. thats alot of mental gymnastics to justify it. Crafter blue makes high quality vulcanised rubber straps for 70 bucks or so. Even up to 100 id get it but 165? that's like an orient bambino or a seiko 5 just for a rubber strap.
