As you can see, this is my honest opinion about this product. I don't candy coat it. Either it works or it doesn't.

I bought one, you're right about the sway. I bent a couple of 3/8 thick 2 inch wide flat steel that bolts to the outside of the frame. It was a cheap fix and the unit works great, very rigid now. I also drilled and threaded the hook on the arms to tighten down the pins in place. You're correct about the clutch idea, however usually the implement has the breakaway. I too have a 317 john deere, which is nice because we can control flow with our right hand. I like the unit, for what it is, it's not a bad deal. Just don't expect too much as is, if you're not mechanically inclined to make necessary modifications. I wouldn't recommend buying one.

@@onpointmachiningllcschmidt5441 Good points. I sent it back, but if I had to have kept it I would have had to make a lot of modifications to make it work the way I needed.

Get the sleeves that have a ID to fit the lower pins on the mower and a OD that fits the arms on the 3pt hooks. You can get them from any tractor supply store. I rebuilt my mower by making a mount on the back that attaches to the 3pt. I rotated the mower gear box 180 degrees. I added a over running clutch on the pto. But you could and a one way valve between the hyd lines to allow it to bypass when you shut the hyd flow off. The top link does not need to be adjusted just use your tilt on the skid steer.

I tried using the quick hitch bushing and they were too big. I even tried bigger cat pins. The design was just not great.

I see they have a Version 2 now and did include some of the items I told them about (relief valve missing, weak lower pin connections, top link setup wrong), but it's still got a long way to go to be usable. The side to side swing when moving pops the pins out and I see they still have not addressed that. The angle of the lower pins are also wrong. A 3 point attachment is usually pulled on a tractor. On a skid steer they are pushed unless you want to run in reverse which is the worst direction for a skid steer for visibility. There is too much wiggle in those pin connectors to keep the attachment stable. Glad it helped. I wouldn't buy the version 2 either.

Item is ment for 3 point Hitch to be pulling on it never to push hard on them it ment like to be used like on a tractor
@SeidelRanch
@SeidelRanch 11 месяцев назад
I understand that point, and it's valid. But that is not what it was marketed as. Driving skid steers in reverse all day is not a good use of that machine. Plus you can run a 3pt on a tractor in reverse too and they hold up fine. This is no where near that strong. No where near. Not even a little close. Unusable.

Did you ever order the basic 3point without pto? I am considering that same thing but I have my doubts it can hold a 1000ish pound grader without failing, I've seen just about every review on them has stated they need modifications on the quick attach. Also looking at eterras version that seems a lot more heavy but its 3x the cost and they haven't been in stock for months.
@SeidelRanch
@SeidelRanch 2 года назад
I bought one of these from them: amzn.to/3cpgs8y I have to say, it leaves a lot to be desired but it does work. I would in no way call it heavy duty. I have used it a few times with my 3pt landscape rake and it does the job and has not broken yet. The real issue is a skid steer pushes and a tractor pulls. These adapters can't handle the beating that a skid steer will give it. I am now just getting rid of anything I have that is 3 point and getting a heavy duty skid steer version.

@olgahackelton8222
@olgahackelton8222 2 года назад
@@SeidelRanch I have done a heap of research since watching your review and i think the problem is that your pushing the attachments instead of pulling. I know, going backwards sounds dumb but the hitch system on 3 point attachments is built for pulling and floating. Im sure beefing things up a bit would help but i really believe its the best option for the conversion. A rotary hoe for instance would be quite handy in reverse and a PTO chipper doesn't move at all, both thousands cheaper!! As well, non PTO implements like a Box Grader, Disk Harrow would all work in reverse and again cheaper. As for a slasher, probably the wrong implement for this adapter.
@SeidelRanch
@SeidelRanch 2 года назад
@@olgahackelton8222 You will definitely have different results based on the implement you use with it, but for my purposes it was no good. Going backwards in a skid steer is pretty much useless since you can't see anything. If you were using a chipper or something like that which does not need to move you may be ok, but anything that would go forward would be a problem.
