george coleclough angel city itself is pretty grey and its not color corrected as far as i can tell. Benchy for example enhances his satuarion in post which makes it look more colourfull.
+TitanToons Thanks Moy! You've got such a sandbox of abilities in this game that never existed in the first, so there's always something new and cool to try out. I've been using gravity stars to Super jump or turn the MGL into an anti-pilot weapon, it's great fun!
Please for the love of god do quick guides on BOTH of these! I would specifically love to see how to use my MGL as an anti-pilot gun, as I always have difficulty deciding between a MGL or a Wingman Elite due to the MGL never working as a true fallback gun for me.
I was just thinking the same thing. And after understanding it in legends I now see just how damn good the tf2 one is. It just felt so overwhelming when trying to learn it on tf2 straight.
Frothy you are my inspiration. I'm still clinging to titanfall 2 on PC thanks to you. Learning these techniques is SO SATISFYING AND ENTERTAINING. I wish I could duel with you just to observe and learn, even though my skills are far more rusty than yours.
This is just now being figured out? Thought this was pretty common knowledge at the start of the game... Everyone kept knocking the Grapple as if it was terrible but it's on par with Stim (not in PURE speed, but in value and versatility). Only things I didn't know about this was that Grapple attaches to anything that crosses it (thought it had to directly hit) and that it is actually a 2D image rather than 3D, I think... But yea, Grapple is really good. Always wondered why everyone on the internet bashed it as if it's bad or something.
"Everyone kept knocking the Grapple as if it was terrible but it's on par with Stim (not in PURE speed, but in value and versatility)" This is simply not true. Grapple lets you achieve a solid 25% greater max speed than stim, it is most definitely superior in terms of max speed and opening otherwise impossible routes. Stim is however much more reliable and does not shut off your weapon. Both are powerful when used correctly, Grapple is still just a cheesy gimmick in a lot of ways that should probably be reigned in a bit.
FrothyOmen Is it really faster? Huh, good to know. Yea I think they are both very good but Stim is faster to react and heals you, but Grapple is easier to spam due to double stacks and, I think, a shorter CD per use. Basically Stim is a bit more flexible and useful per use, but you don't get to use it as often.
@@FrothyOmen I know it's 2 years late but cheesy gimmick? More like one of the greatest mechanics in a fps. Nothing cheesy about the best tactical in the game.
It makes sense because Titanfall 2 runs on the source engine and so it would be similar in physics to CSGO bunny hopping, great guide I learned a lot of new things
great video! i learned today that it's so much easier to slide-hop if you set crouch button to "hold to crouch" that way you don't need to tap ctrl all the tame and can just hold it down while tapping space. BTW would be nice to get some pro CFG or tweak videos. Keep it up!
Grapples can also be used to get into titans faster and from a larger distance away after a titanfall. Grappling in the titan's fall path with at most a titan length away will cause you to skip the second where you don't get the enter titan prompt, as well as the actual landing animation. I found that the higher you grapple horizontally, the more time you can save by entering your titan mid-air.
It only saves a second or two, but in Titanfall, that can help a lot. If you use warpfall for any reason, this tactic just makes it faster. Throw in battery backup and any damage done while not in the titan is basically negated. I haven't tried phase embark with it, but I think that would just make it too fast to even bother doing the grapple. I plan on making a video showing the side by side of the speeds just to see for myself if it's actually a good tactic, or the time saved doesn't really matter.
4:03 one reason this game was so great; the skill gap between players that move like this as fast as the game allows and the players that used to literally walk everywhere.
frothy a trick i learnt that is useful when being chased by titans, its like air striffing but you get more speed *as far as i can tell*, you go into a grapple like you would on a building but you grapple onto the ground and you rapidly strafe around making a sharp turn and gaining some speed
I could barely focus on what you were saying because I was too focused on how amazing angel city looks. The setting for the maps in this game are just stunning, and there will never be anything else like it unfortunately. Thanks for the guide though.
As far as movement goes the grapple is better than stim because it can give you vertical advantage as well as horizontal and even close player distances. Stim is more for an agressive playstyle for fighting and skirmishes where you need a quick boost of speed during a fight as it let's you still shoot as you gain momentum. Grapple is one of my favorites as killing people with it is hilarious.
you know there is something new in Frothy;s videos all the time, i learnt slide hopping from you, i learnt to use the quick flying shot of northstar from you, also this, thanks Frothy!
Not making a video because you're not already established as a video maker isn't a good reason at all. This is exactly how I started -- There were Titanfall videos that needed to be made that nobody was making, so I went out and made them. 3 years later I'm at nearly 40k subs, you can do it too :)
I don't have any video editing experience or access to equipment, just ideas in my head. But you are proof of concept that I could if I put real effort in. thanks for the support!
I think titanfall definitely needs a third game thing one. Thing two is the game i think could benefit from tf2’s pilot being the default look of all pilots. Thing 3 is making grappling hooks and the throwable knife maybe with the pulse thing be standard piece of ur pilots arsenal and removing most everything else and finding a way to implement it into the maps rather then intrinsic to the player. Or find another way. Next is balancing titans out a little more by giving them either healing or more health. Also balance titans with the titan brawl mode. And find a better mode then attrition to combine the pilot and titan sides of the game. Make titans harder to kill and make pilot trying to kill the titans easy once ur on them but hard to actually get to them and no grapple is not an option for this particular thing
Yea I pretty much done this first try because of how much I use grapples in other games when I first tried it I called it the slingshot method when I throw myself in the air across the map to attack a titan
Great, now try this on a Xbox controller while using"Evolve" layout,(jump=LB, crouch/slide=Push right stick, tatical=button A). It's ridiculously hard.
Something I'd like from Respawn is some novelty maps with grapple or stim obstacle courses. Maybe as a training tool or as racing game modes in the same vein as the Team Fortress 2 custom servers. Or even better, integrate a server browser that lets people host public games rather than having only random matchmaking.
Respawn for the last time, make a melee weapon with two sward only melee with had more speed and ability to slash the titan behind , you'll get a great class to this game with the grabbler hook combined..
Thanks for making this video frothy. FAZE wannabes that used to run better tacticals (for their skill level) like phase and awall are now fumbling around the map with the grabbler hook like retarded fish.
Oh wow! Titanfall has source strafing, thats neat .Bhops aswell! I play a lot of source games (tf2 the other one, hl) and seeing this in another game not made by vavle is neat! Im looking forward to trying this game out! The one time youtube recommends me something good...
It's supposed to show my mouse input, but doesn't work correctly when I'm playing Titanfall 2. That was the only keyboard overlay I could find that showed the keys I wanted without showing 9 million other ones, unfortunately it had the bugged mouse on there. Oh well.
Been practicing like a mad woman, and I can do all these grapple strategies really well... I just cannot slide hope/bunny hop. The keyboard/mouse keys are too uncomfortable to reliably use, and I have tried rebinding keys but they never seem to work. I get the first burst of speed and then just kind of slide to a stand still when attempting to do everything mentioned in the slide hop tutorials (I've watched like 18 tutorials, I still can't do it, but the grapple speed stuff and position changing I can do with relative ease)
