5:52 To add onto that, someone made a video recently about this Grunt Mode in the Northstar client, where you start off as a Grunt, and as you play the game and get more points you get to play as a specter with double jump and eventually a Pilot with all the schmovement that entails. And it just makes me think about a new Battlefront game but Titanfall themed. And like Battlefront, you start off as a grunt, you gain points to buy and play as a character, with Elite Grunts like the Shield Captains in the Campaign in the bottom, Legends from Apex in the middle, alongside their ability to monkey all over the place, and Pilots and Titans being the most expensive but also the most powerful characters, with Pilots playing exactly like they do in TF2, with perhaps a bit more HP as to not die instantly to a Player Grunt. Like, Attrition already has that Big Battle thing going on, and not imagine the maps being bigger, with multistage objectives to fight over and AI Titans stomping around blasting each other apart, and 64 player in a map since everyone starts off as a Grunt so developers don't have to worry about 64 players zipping around the map or standing around on every rooftops. And you could have modes like Grunts Vs Pilots where most of the server are Grunts while the remain few are Pilots and they're like, trying to kill each other or are trying to stop the other team from doing an objective or some shit, and the Pilots are trying to not get turned into swish Cheese by the player Grunts. Or it could be like Reverse Infection where instead of a few Zombies trying to infect everyone on the map it's a few Pilots trying to not get blasted by all the Player Grunts that are trying to hunt them down and run down the timer or escape on a dropship. There's potential here, having playable Grunts in a Titanfall game. And I'll LOVE to see it fulfilled.

I don't want TF|3 because I don't believe devs can deliver anything at least as good as TF|2.

The proper term, Bricky, is "Perfect Imbalance". It is actually a game design philosophy that was coined by Blizzard to explain their approach to 'balance' in Star Craft/Brood War, and it is taught in schools now. The idea is to create a back and forth with incomparables like movement speed versus attack range, versus health and armor, etc, so that nothing is completely overpowering, but nothing is completely balanced either. People who complain about imbalance don't understand that they wouldn't want balance if they actually got it, because nothing can be truly balanced unless both sides are exactly the same. Even chess isn't perfectly balanced because one side always moves first. A few sports like hockey might be considered balanced, at least from a rules perspective, but the most competitive e-sports games actively thrive BECAUSE they manage to get that perfect imbalance so close.

To be honest if you were expecting a Titanfall 3 announcement this soon, don't get your hopes up. At least we know that Respawn is aware, so if an announcement is planned wait around 2026 ... as the earliest, since they are already working on the Start Wars games, so it will take a while.

Hearing Bricky said that Titanfall might be popular if there's no Titans feels like a blasphemy. Although, I agree a bit. TF2's gameplay is extremely good even without the Titans. However, I think one of the Respawn devs mentioned somewhere (I can't remember where) that the problem with TF2 is that since the skill ceiling is too damn high, it's pretty much tiring and demotivating for normal players fighting against pros. So, the existence of grunts and Titans help level the playing field a bit. Probably if there's a TF3, there's gonna be some sort of skill based matchmaking in order to try to find a "balanced" game. As of right now, the game just matches you with whoever they can find with a lower ping.

Lord Brickhouse, I've been playing Titanfall 2 with controller for the same reason, and I'll say I get dumpstered about half as often as I do the dumpstering so basically idk? It do be satisfying when you're having a cracked day though!

Oh Im with you, gave up on titanfall3 years ago. What gets me is that Respawn keeps using titanfall things to market Apex. Like they keep beating my dead horse like "oooo remember this cool thing? We dont have it in Apex but look at it, oooo" Yeah.. one of the best FPS games ever made, reduced to marketing ploy, what a disgrace.

i think part of the reason titanfall 3 wont be a thing is because most games are made for mass apeal and to be easy to play easy to master

This may be herrassy but I preferred titan fall 1 over 2 ,when it comes to the pilot controles

About aim assist, I tried out Red Dead Online and apparently stepped on the wrong patch of grass cause some xbox player went "Screw you" and started murdering me repeatedly, apparently every time he aims it snapped to my head even if he didn't have direct line of sight thanks to foliage. That's when I learned about the crossplay setting.

Titanfall 3 - Summer 2026

I played controller on pc for a long time eventually switching to m+k (learning from scratch), and I have to say that aim assist for smgs (especially car and volt) is pretty broken if you know what you're doing. My controller had buttons on the back that I used for slide hopping, freeing my thumbs for aim and movement, and it was so smooth to play on. The smooth movements + aim assist car = 25+ kills per game consistently. That said, I was a kraber main so no aim assist💀

There was always the choice to play just Titans, Titans and pilots, and just pilots so I don't necessarily agree with it being better without Titans. I do agree that more factors go into its shoddy release than just the release, itself. What I don't understand is all the hinting we've seen referencing seemingly nothing?

7 years old and still plays better than most, if not all, video games released 3-12 months ago. Titanfall 2 is the peak of video game entertainment. Every time a new game releases I compare it to Titanfall 2 regardless of the genre. Hundreds of video games in my collection and the vast majority of them released before Titanfall 2. Only video game that comes close to feeling like Titanfall 2 is Warframe. Everything else is either too slow, too uninteresting, too buggy, or too budgeted towards whales who fancy spending thousands of dollars on a single video game. Everything a first person shooter fan could love packed into one single game for me and you. Yup! That's Titanfall 2.

See, the thing about the release date copium is it's more than just the other big shooters of the time, Undertale just happened as well and pretty much everyone focused on that. Even more so, Overwatch had already taken the hearts of most shooter fans in 2016, so for at least 3 more to release around year end, when the Sombra ARG was peaking? A bit much of a an ask. Beyond that, late 2016 was bad for a lot of multiplayer games of the time because of how big of a year 2017 would be for games, with BotW, horizon zero dawn, Mario oddysey, nier autamata, persona 5, pubg and then later on, fortnite. Titanfall 2 didn't get a chance to solidify itself for more reasons that just being sandwiched between mid-to-good shooters with bigger names, it just wasn't the right time. That being said, I absolutely adore the titans and are damn near my favourite part of the game, so I'm very happy their there

I'm sure videos like this will show Respawn that is worth giving some love to the game, jk, this videos will only show to Respawn that is not worth doing things for the game because we don't appreciate anything they do, yeah I know they fixed servers 2 years later than they should have, but they could have only fix it and don't touch the game again, but no, they decided to make the ltm loop work again, change the weapons in the coliseum and make an event for the 7th anniversary which is something they didn't even do for the 1st anniversary, but the community still complains. If I was Respawn I wouldn't ever again do something for the titanfall community.

Saying that the release date didn't matter because it was between two FPS games that were unpopular on release feels somewhat disingenuous. As if the majority of shooter fans would buy COD:IW or BF1, not like it, and then choose to go to a game from a less known franchise, of which the previous title was considerd mid at best. If Titanfall 2 had come out a month later, when people had already had some time to stew on the poor games and were looking for something better, i bet a bunch of them may well have picked up TF2. Call me coping, because i am, but i'mbeing reasonable about it.
