Every time I hear the story of the Titanic it makes me cry. Even a piece of clothing, a pocket watch, boarding pass, it once was part of someone that may have lost their life that tragic night. It gets me every time. I cry for those who were lost and even those that survived. The good and the bad. History is so important. This one particularly breaks my heart every time. Thank you for posting

Interesting that the museum doesn't talk about Unsinkable Molly Brown. She survived the sinking of the Titanic. Actually even the movie didn't talk much about her. She was a phenomenal woman. Jordan please if you ever go to Denver Colorado go see her home.

She is interred about 20 minutes away from me in New York. When the movie came out, my kids were able to pay their respects to someone who survived the sinking of the Titanic. They were, in a way, paying their respects to everyone on the Titanic

They should put in interesting facts that although they received 6 warnings on the 14th, Captain Smith actually changed course further South to avoid it. Also Titanic's radio was out most of the previous day so there was a backlog of messages. It was also common practice of ships to travel at full speed until ice was actually sighted. The Titanic followed all the rules of the time. They did nothing wrong and DID NOT ignore ice warnings.

I saw a traveling artifact display in the late 90s after the movie was such a hit. They had coal from the wreck that you could buy . They had a bunch of other stuff but one interesting thing was autographed photos by Millvina Dean of her as a baby being rescued. I regret not buying the coal but I guess there’s always eBay.

The story of the woman who died with her dog, because she didn't want to leave her dog behind and they found her with her dog in her arms made me tear up Jordan, thanks for sharing that story, the other story that you also shared was the guy who died because because he didnt want a child to lose a seat and die, he died a hero, also you were talking about the wife who chose to stay and die with her husband,they are Isador, and Ida Straus,you showed their framed portrait on the wall, they are actually in the James Cameron movie, they are holding each other in bed while the water is rising around them, do you remember that scene, Jordan, I remember it, but I seen the movie many times, how about you?

Every time I think of the sailing from Great Britain to the Us , I think of my great grandmother & her family coming to the US ,from Ireland. When my grandmother passed away in Boston the attic still had the traveling chests from various family members & my grandmothers Hope chest which I received because she willed it to me. I still have it & it still looks beautiful.

I saw the Titanic exhibit tour of the US in 1998. This is a nice updated exhibit. My favorite artifact is Wallace Hartley violin. The volunteer action the musicians playing music during the sinking was extraordinary. There were many brave people that tragic night.

You know some people might be critical of them playing celine dion and the movie score, but i am ok they should have stuff from the titanic movies all so there i think like from james camerons film and a night to remember, i think if they have some movie stuff there it kind of lightens up the tone. So you are not to depressed being there

What a coincidence… I just fell into a Titanic rabbit hole the last week. The RU-vid channel Titanic: Honor and Glory (it’s the official channel for a video game of the same name still under development) has the entire Titanic mapped out inch-for-inch in Unreal Engine, and has a realtime simulation of the sinking using the best available information. I wonder… when the Titanic started taking on water, could they have cut those massive anchors loose?

One of the big reasons the Titanic hit that iceberg was that David Blair who was assigned to the ship was reassigned to a different ship on April 9th taking with him the key to the locker that held the binoculars. Instead of breaking the lock on a new ship they continued the voyage without them

Ismay never actually said that lol. That scene is based entirely on a single witness account that may have misinterpreted or misheard the conversation since titanics last boiler room was never lit up. If ismay was being pressuring, more people would have likely heard it since it was in the reception room.

Problem is ice is not stronger than steel. They're were important people on the ship which other important people sought to get rid of. Had something to do with the Federal reserve forming. It had to do with money and banking.
@aalihte3378
@aalihte3378 6 дней назад
An iceberg is more than "ice" they are deadly. The ONLY way she couldve survived is if she hit it head on. No conspiracy. So many incredibly intelligent engineers and students in college and experts on Titanic have repeatedly the same type of Steel the Titanic was made out of as well as what are current ships are made out of and lo and behold if they hit the same way the Titanic did , they end up doomed as well so no conspiracy nothing to get money just a lot of poor planning and the desire to promote it as an unsinkable ship because at the time it was a genius design
@Greg-xy4xj
@Greg-xy4xj 5 дней назад
A lot of mistakes made on titanic adding to the total deaths . The children were the true victims and a few good souls aboard . Lots of rich snobby people who treated others not so wealthy like crap.. The history of this story is fascinating but to glorify some of these people as heros not so much I have no empathy for those who held arrogance among others .
