Highlights from a guided VIP tour of the Branson Titanic Museum. This is the sister museum to the one in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Anne Frank was in the museum as part of a special exhibit they were doing to honor Titanic's Jewish passengers and remember the Holocaust. The Strauses were two among the 69 known Jewish people aboard the ship and two of the 39 who perished. The Strauses' nephew, Nathan, was a college friend of Anne Frank's father, Otto Frank.

Turns out Nathan helped get Anne's diary published. "What is the connection between Anne Frank and the Titanic? Otto Frank, the father of Anne Frank, was best friends with Nathan Straus, brother of First Class Passenger and Titanic victim Isidor Straus, both of whom co-owned Macy's."

I picked up on a few mistakes here by the artefacts expert and guide. The American flag was not flown as a result of being “American owned” (it was but this isn’t the reason). It's more tragic than that. They would have survived if they HADN'T turned the ship. In that case, they would have hit it straight on and damaged only the front watertight compartments. The ship could survive that. It was because they turned and the iceberg ripped a long gash on the side that it opened up more of the watertight compartments. That's what doomed the ship.

@@MauriceRivers415 Recently, I researched the Olympic, Titanic's sister ship. It was identical and was more famous at the time because it launched first. It had arrived in NYC a couple of months before and was greeted by 10,000 people. In fact, the myth of the Titanic is overblown on this point. People had seen a ship this size before. It wasn't as mind-blowing as it's presented. Because the Olympic was more famous, there are many photographs of the interior. These pictures are frequently misnamed as photos of the Titanic. In addition, many years later, the Olympic was involved in a serious accident that resulted in the front of the Olympic being crushed. In this case, the front watertight compartments held. It was damaged, but it did not sink. No such luck for the Titanic. Lastly, the legend that the Titanic was considered "unsinkable" was never stated by the White Star Line. It's unclear who originated that description.

I was just there a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! I was wondering about the floor on the stairs and you answered the question for me lol. I thought surely it was not really linoleum on the real titanic. I was wrong!

The 4th funnel absolutely had a function and that was an air vent, venting for the galley

The 4th funnel was a multi purpose air vent for lower decks and it vented smoke from the kitchens

I know there ain’t the original props and all that…but it’s amazing how they recreated all this stuff. Cheap made but but as they did when it was made.

That replica at 2:00 is awesome! I would love to make one of those! Also, there’s a game that’s been in development since 2012 and should hopefully be out soon and is about experiencing the titanic and its sinking. It’s called Titanic: Honor and Glory, after the angel statues.

The Titanic actually sunk 900 miles off the Nova Scotia coast. I also saw the episode of Ghost Adventures that did this episode where they inspected the museum.
