Ever since we bought our 2006 Cadillac DTS, it's been Castrol Edge as of the first oil change in our onwership; it was night and day, the Northstar Engine came back to life, and the car runs like a Jet (Boeing 777).

I use Castrol for more than 15 years.... Best oil! I have tried Mobil (because some people recommended) but.... I wasn't happy.... In the winter mornings i was hearing the hydraulic lifters for about 15 sec.....then i have said bye bye Mobil..... and never tried another oil brand.... For me Castrol is the best oil! Castrol oil and Mann filters forever!

Just bit the bullet and bought some castrol edge titanium 5w 30 for my car. I don't expect night and day differences but the fact that my car has high mileage, I'm hoping it can significantly reduce the wear especially when VVT gets used when i rev the engine.

They are correct. however, what they don't tell you is that this motor oil requires a high filtration oil filter. I recommend Wix Xp or Amsoil, this is the case because under pressure the burnt base creates carbon which will bond with the titanium and make ti-C Titanium carbide. oil filter is design to take out the Carbon out of the oil and suspend it before this happens. Know your oil!

This is an addendum to my last post. I sure hope adding molecular metal doesn't recreate what Arco "Graphite "did back in the '80's, (devouring cylinder walls). Do I need this "molecular technology "?

Still not have clear answer -Why on some Jars, Bottle (containers) of Castrol Engine Oil here in USA saying : NOT FOR SALE OUTSIDE THE USA Did any one have reasonable answer ? Thank You ...

I don't know, but it reminds me of how Pepsi cans from multi-packs state something like, "not for individual sale."
@CreepinCreeper145
@CreepinCreeper145 5 лет назад
@@aperson6832 That's a completely different concept, which refers to the prevention of the sale of individual bottles originally sold in packs. OP was referring to how this variant of Castrol Edge EP, either sold in quart bottles, 5 qt jugs, or cases of both, is prohibited from being shipped to & sold in the United States.

@sechszylinder8055 8 лет назад
the 5w30, 5w40 and 0w40 Edge FST Titanium are BMW LL04 approval so the HTHS is at least equal to 3,5 but as you say it will be great if the HTHS is mentioned on PDS...

I've been wrenching for 40 years and found the perfect combination for my '99/4.3 Vortec w/188,800.E3 spark plugs, K&N air filter(It runs better than new)But what's the best oil? I've used Valvoline High Milelage for years .I'M ready for an oil change. I purchased Castrol GTX (high milelage)w/titanium& low phosphorus. I know the saying if it works don't fix it with 1/2 qt. burn with daily 80 mph. drives to work @ 3,000mi. between oil changes.I keep Purator Boss filter (the best synthetic filter on the market). Fast molecular absorbing technology? Is it possible? I'll find out.

Hmm...let's think about this for a second: Most automobile engines are made of Aluminum and/or Steel. Titanium is MUCH stronger than Aluminum and a little bit stronger than steel. So, wouldn't having a much stronger metal in your oil simply going to act like an abrasive inside the engine? I'm thinking if that Titanium got to the Piston Rings, it would turn the whole piston into one big metal-file which will begin to scrape away metal from the Combustion Chamber. Meaning, the whole engine would need to be re-bored and the piston heads and piston rings need to be changed as well. I don't know...that all seems pretty dumb to me. I'll just stick to the cheap oils which WON'T let my engine eat itself.

@BrockLee3
@BrockLee3 4 года назад
@@matthewarnspiger632 Sure have! And, if you're implying the filter will take out the Titanium; then, what would be the point of putting Titanium in there?
@matthewarnspiger632
@matthewarnspiger632 4 года назад
@@BrockLee3 Im not saying it will take it out I'm saying if there is a so called "abrasive' in you engine than the pieces will get caught inside the oil filer. As far as liquid titanium goes it uses a special type of molecular technonly. they put a patton on the type of titanium additive they used. and lets be honest here... they have put in thousands of hours of testing here if it was acting as an abrasive they would find it.
@BrockLee3
@BrockLee3 4 года назад
@@matthewarnspiger632 I don't think they would care if damaged people's engines. In this case, the damage would be so slow that no one notices until it's too late. Companies have been selling crap that destroys your car's engine for DECADES, and no one cares. Don't believe me? Just check the "additives" they sell at your local Auto Parts Store. IF they did actually put Titanium in this stuff, then they did it just to have that patent for it; which, would allow them to be the only ones putting Titanium in their motor oil; which would give them an edge in the market. This is nothing new (see: Intel PENTIUM processors). My second thought on this "Liquid Titanium Technology." What if they're not even putting any Titanium in there? If it did ACTUALLY have Titanium in there, they would have said something like, "With Titanium Added" on the bottle. However, it says, "LIquid Titanium 'TECHNOLOGY'" on the label. That word "Technology" in this case could mean anything.
@matthewarnspiger632
@matthewarnspiger632 4 года назад
@@BrockLee3 yes I see your point however they probably integrate somesort of titanium into the oil to prevent it from wearing on the engine and could be why they don't say with added titanium... the same reason some icecream says frozen dairy desert instead of saying icecream.
