Most Perfect Game sponsored tournaments require everyone to use wooden bats.

+GamingStar28 Titans Baseball Academy (formerly East Cobb Titans) is not associated with any Titans team in New York or any other state. It's based in Marietta, GA and fields top-level travel baseball (and softball) teams. Take a look at the Perfect Game tournaments we played against teams from all over the country. Last fall, we faced a team with 11 Division 1 commits, and 4 pitchers who reached speeds in the 90s. Last summer, we faced a pitcher who was a San Diego State (D1) commit and threw in the 90s. He was on CBA Marucci, a team ranked among the top 10 in the country, and we tied them 4-4. You're only seeing a few highlights from our team and not the whole game, but I assure you we saw fastballs, curves, change-ups, sliders, knuckle balls, etc. I hope that your New York team makes the trip to some of the national championship Perfect Game tournaments, and we get an opportunity to face you. For instance, at this link: www.perfectgame.org/events/Tournaments/Teams/Default.aspx?team=30838, we were a rising 16U team playing against 18U teams. We often play against older teams for the best competition. Take a look at Home Plate Chilidogs Maldonado, for instance, and the D1 commits they had listed. Good question! That's Wojo's foot. SP Wildcats played Styx in Gulf Shores, AL 4 years ago, and Wojo came on late and got the save in a tough-fought game. We weren't told we needed turfs until we got there, so Wojo used his Grandpa's golf shoes, and we would zoom in on them every time he pitched and batted. It kind of became a silly habit, but it brought us luck, so it is what it is! Good catch on the shoes though.

It was B6 of GM2 (best of 3) and tied 0-0 after 6.1 INN. With Tressler on 2B, Wojo crushed a HR to RF, & WHS moved to its 1st-ever Sweet 16! In Round 2, WHS beat perennial powerhouse Grayson 7-0 and 6-0 behind continued dominating pitching of Hurter/Staples, and while racking up 27 hits. Now Elite 8, we play another baseball force, Parkview, on WED for a chance at the Final 4. Thanks for watching!

Sounds like your team is very talented. Unfortunately, we don't get to play teams from Australia very often. US teams meet Australia in the LLWS and the WBC and perhaps the Olympics. US teams tend to do very well in those competitions.

And remember.....distances are different for different ages: LL is 46 feet from pitcher to home plate, Pony League is 54 feet, and Babe Ruth and High School are standard 60 feet, 6 inches. We moved to standard MLB distance at 14U, but it varies depending on your league rules. Good luck to you!

Are you agreeing about the speed being slow? The average fastball (according to Perfect Game) for Class of 2017 was 79 mph, and the best was 97 mph. If you pitch 76 mph, you better have movement. We have played with a kid who is going DI as a PO, and he rarely hits 80 mph or higher. He has incredible movement on his curve and his change-up, and he makes batters look silly. So it's not all about speed.

It was one of those days for Team Easton. They were a very good team and had a lot of success - but not on this day.

+Francisco Castillo This was 15U, and we had a couple of pitchers who threw in the mid to upper 80s. We faced teams as old as 18U, so we saw speeds in the 90s at times. Thanks for watching!

For point of reference, take a look at the very best high school pitchers in the US and beyond - those who were drafted by MLB last year. www.maxpreps.com/news/Hsz4v5WAqkS6jmuOPhR5aQ/top-10-high-school-pitchers-for-2015-mlb-draft.htm. The VERY FASTEST pitcher threw 97mph. So if your 12yo son is playing high school seniors who are pitching 95mph, then he must be traveling all over the country to find them. We play high-level travel ball against competition that is 18u, and we see a few pitchers in the 90s over the course of a season. You should post some live-action video of your son hitting a (verified) 95mph fastball. I'm sure the scouts would jump all over that.
