Just a little too firm. Still a well designed ball though.

My golf coach just recommended that I play this ball for how I'm hitting. I've been trying out different balls being a mid to high handicap. Thought I should be using a two piece but he was totally against that, due to losing performance. I've played a couple rounds and absolutely love these balls. Shot my lowest round after using this ball. He also recommended the Vice Pro. Definitely go to an instructor and have them watch your swing and numbers and ask their recommendations on a ball. Really like the channel by the way. Keep doing what you're doing

I'm really glad you're having success with the ball. I will say that you got to be really really careful who you ask for advice on golf balls. There are millions of pros who will just tell you to play the pro v1. Most of them have no idea how modern golf balls work. Not saying all of them are that way. But I've definitely met my fair share that are. Thank you so much for watching the channel and supporting. I also appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback 😁

Bro I don't know what you're doing to get these numbers lol. I started playing the AVX this year and love it. If I run out of AVXs on the course I switch to Pro V1 and it's a significant difference for me. The AVX is softer, launches much lower, and does not spin as much. I get decent spin out of the AVX with irons and can stick greens but short wedge shots can be harder to control. I think the big difference with the irons is the decent angle as the AVX does not get as high up as the Pro V1 with the irons. Iron distance with the AVX isn't great for me but I've learned to work it into my game. My favorite thing is that I'm hitting long, straight, bombs off the driver with this ball. I'm in no way a good golfer or someone who hits a lot of long balls but I've nearly driven 3 or 4 Par 4 greens with this ball and haven't come close with any other ball. This ball cuts through the wind. I've teed up an AVX and Pro V1 into a head wind and the AVX is almost unaffected by it whereas the Pro V1 has some noticeable distance loss. Comparing to the Pro V1 the AVX launches lower with all clubs, spins less, doesn't stick to greens quite as well, but is crazy straight for me. Distance is much better than the Pro V1 for me but I think most of that is because it's easier to hit straight and it cuts through the wind. I'm trying to switch into a Vice ball just because of how much I golf and the price of the AVXs, but I always keep a box of AVXs for when I'm playing to win against my buddies while I fine tune myself into an appropriate Vice ball. So far I've been liking the Vice Pro Soft and for the price difference I'll likely move in that direction.

Everyone has different results with golf balls. Depends on your speed, accuracy, shot shape tendencies, club brand and design, etc. What is your swing speed?
@wcfirefighter3

@@GolfBallAddict I'm somewhere around 95 but I have trouble controlling my swing speed. I tend to want to crush the ball where I can easily swing >100 but if I take my time and do a smooth and steady swing I usually hit it just as far and dead accurate. Great video though. I've been pushing forward with the Vice Pro Soft over the past 2 weeks and it's likely to permanently replace the AVX.

For what it’s worth, I’ve switched to the AVX’s full time now because I have found it to be longer off the tee while still being very soft around the greens. Basically perfect for how I’ve changed my game over the last month, and I think its been a significant factor in my improved playing.

Gotta say for me - 19 HCP - I hit AVX great off a tee - lots longer. Shorter with my irons - maybe - don’t notice it that much. Putting is super smooth, chipping is great. So I gotta say like the ball.

Please review Nitro golf balls It’s the cheapest golf ball I can find brand new and I think a lot of new golfers and low budget golfers would be very interested in seeing how they perform I find myself using nitros for casual rounds being a college student.

I was hopeful but I had similar results. I lost 10 yards off the driver and the ball launched really high and then just dropped out of the sky. I know part of it is me and my swing but my search for the right ball for me continues.

Nothing wrong with that. I think it's awesome that you have enough self-awareness to realize the ball isn't for you. I'm seeing a lot of people these days play golf balls that they think are good for them but really are hurting them. There are plenty to try and the search is well worth the wait trust me

Interesting. AVX is the longest ball I have ever played off the driver. It is about three yards shorter compared to Taylor Made Tour Respons…which feel to soft for me. I have a slow swingsspeed at about 80+ mph. Maybe that is the reason I like this ball. Slower speed, less difference between balls. But still, best overall ball I have ever played. ProV1 spins to much of the driver for me, like the wedge spin, but it is shorter off the irons. No difference in launch.
@GolfBallAddict
@GolfBallAddict 2 года назад
That's interesting with a swing speed that slow. I imagine if you are having spin issues, you must be an exceptional ball striker. Have you tried the srixon Q star tours or the Sugar ball? The matte q stars I feel like don't spin as much, and the Sugar was exceptional with very low spin.
@jonasmauritzson872
@jonasmauritzson872 2 года назад
@@GolfBallAddict I struggle with a slight outside in swing, that’s why I prefer low spin in the long game. And then I benefit from spin in the short game. I will try Qstar. Thank you.

I thought the same…. Tried it side by side against pro v1 which is my normal ball and got about extra 30 yards off the tee (driver)z Will keep testing over winter, but very impressed so far. Driver speed around 105mph

@@GolfBallAddict Tried Srixon Qstar Tour today. Over all, I prefer AVX. 10 yards longer and better feel compared to Qstar. Good of the wedge though.

@@jonasmauritzson872my two top balls are avx & q star tour , love the feel of Srixon but avx definitely longer off the tee(98mph) . How you feel mid iron spin and holding green and wedges between the two ?

AVX has been my go to ball for a couple years, performs fantastic for me, I have used many brands, and this is the one I come back to. I get about 125 yards with my PW with this ball.
@GolfBallAddict

Very nice. You must have a pretty fast swing speed to get that with a pitching wedge. It seems like you would compress it really well.

This is one of those balls that confused me from a marketing standpoint. I took it to be a ball for a good player but one that launched the ball to high and spun it too much…. Which if you have those characteristics then I would expect you to be practically on tour. Don’t get me wrong, I’m on average around a 6 or so handicap and my miss is when I flip the club through impact resulting in high floaty shots. But seeing some of your numbers it launched about average of other balls but just flew shorter. I even went to go buy a dozen because I really wanted the lower flight. But when I talked to the guy at the shop he, a senior, said that it was in no way a low launching golf ball and that he and another senior use it to launch the ball higher. Especially now with the “Tour Soft” ball they have now and the tour series, what is the purpose behind the AVX? I’ll just keep looking at other brands lol
@GolfBallAddict
@GolfBallAddict Год назад
I've heard the same things. Titleist website claims it is aimed at moderate swingers, but after feeling how firm it is, and seeing the numbers, I don't buy that.

Played lots of balls and brands and the AVX has been very good. Your reviews seem very, very unusually negative. I can’t agree with your assessment at all.

I hear you, however you have to keep in mind my reviews are only 10 percent opinion based. I test the ball, I get the numbers. The numbers don't lie. Different golf balls work differently for everyone. However for 55$ per dozen, I have tested WAY better golf balls at half the price.

Yes. I am about a 95 mph driver speed. I bought a sleeve and played 1 ball and boxed it back up and gave them to a friend. Put my gamer back on the tee Srixon Z Star. Would love to see a review on the Z-Star as we are about same driver speed. I love it for the approach and green side aspect. I bought a sleeve of Titleist Tour Speed and am hoping it gives a bit more with driver but not hopeful. I’m having a hard time finding anything better than Z Star. Q-Star isn’t bad either. IMHO

I tested the strixon z-star for the 2019 models a while back. One of the best golf balls I've tested. Honestly all the srixons perform above par every time. I will try to test the newer 2022 versions soon. Please let me know how you like the Titleist tour.

We’ll for me, I love this ball. Not as spinny off the driver, lower launch, I’m getting 10 more yards than the ProV1. I think they feel great with all clubs. Mishits actuality seems very forgiving. My iris are about a half club longer and putting just has that Titleist sound and feel. Not as spinny around the greens though but I’ll take that for the distance gain and feel.my driver swing speed is around 100.

I imagine swinging 100 mile an hour would definitely help. At 93 I was barely compressing the golf ball.

I am not really surprised. This is what other players have said. Will still stick with the Inesis. Readily available here in Thailand and at a good price. Thought the Bridgestone balls might have changed me, I used them when I played in the UK, but no. If I see the Precept, I would try it after your review but until then, Inesis for me. Thanks for the work and the honest reviews.

Thanks Nic for the honest review. What lured me was Titleist’s marketing to the moderate swinger and it having a 77 compression rating. Your review proved that this ball is better suited for a faster swinger! It’s disheartening when a company advertises one thing, then its product delivers something different. I’m having better success with the Vice Pro anyway, so I think I’ll use the AVX’s when I have to hit over water. 😉

@@GolfBallAddict for sure! An interesting follow up would be to review the Callaway Chrome Soft (also boasts a mid-70’s compression) to see if their claims are true regarding moderate swingers. Sometimes I think these big companies just want to sell more golf balls and mislead average players.
