I was about to buy one, you have saved me a lot and probably made them realise we are not all stupid, well you anyway. Thanks for your time and effort. Well done! !!

This exact part has already broken three times on my Triton. I just fixed it again and your video reminded me what to do, thanks for that! I think it's a shame that Triton has reinstalled the part made of plastic in the following model, the Triton tra002.

I had the exact problem with mine and it is not that old. I am on a fixed income and the thing broke me at the time I bought it from ToolNut. Thanks for your video on this repair. I will try, Not sure I can pull off a repair on it. Thanks again for your video Woodworker.

THANK YOU! My first project was to just route a trough in a thick plastic cutting board. All went nicely, until I decided to make it a tad deeper the next day & then all Hell Broke loose. The bit rose 8mm, tearing a hole through the project and leaving me with a router that will Not lift high enough to trigger the lock on the collet holder. It took a hammer, vise, heavy punch, 2 thin wrenches for bit bottom support and a few whacks to pop the bit out of the collet. It DOES raise & Lower, just not enough raising to lock the collet holder, so maybe a plastic shaving flew where it wasn't supposed to. Thank you again for making my problem seem Very Approachable.

I don't know if it is related to what happened to you, but I always forget to slide the switch protector over the switch, allowing you to raise the bit all the way.

@@TheinternetwoodworkerGPlus I wish I knew what that meant, since I've upgraded 4 more cutting boards (to make them wonderful to use now), but still can't raise my Triton router high enough to attain the locking of the bit. Do you think all that early commotion I encountered crumbled a bit of that plastic part you replaced?????

I think I would have bought two of them... it's bound to break again. They probably would have charged the same shipping... thx for vid...

I got MOF001 a month ago and while using it only in the router table I had trouble with the micro adjuster. It was increasingly difficult to turn and the above the table crank was getting useless. Today, it finally got completely stuck for no reason I could find. Since I had already watched your video before, I was emboldened to take it apart. It took me hours! I didn't find anything broken, but just jiggling the gears and micro adjustment worm gear seemed to have done the trick. When I was trying to put it back something wouldn't allow me to properly close it. In frustration I simply removed the micro adjust drag plate (TRA 407. part 11 from the diagram) as well as the little screw and the nylon bolt that hold it. Then everything fit. Micro adjustment was now silky smooth. I suspect that something with that drag plate must have been wrong. I could only see that it serves to, well, drag the adjustment worm. The micro adjustment knob does not feel loose, nothing rattles, but no even with the crank, both up and down adjustments are nice and smooth. So it seems that the drag plate was a good riddance. I was frustrated by the whole process but also glad that I was apparently able to fix it. Get to know your router in order to love it better! Thanks again for posting this video. It meant a lot to me.

I am having a similar problem and suspect it is the same part that is failing. I think you mentioned you had some instructions that you were following. Can you provide a link to those? Great video. I am almost hoping I have the same broken part.

Great video, just heard my router "snap" while raising it. Now the raiser doesn't raise or lower, I suspect the snap was the same part breaking. Your video will be helpful when I tear it down. Thanks

Useful video, thank you. I have a similar problem, it's as if the threads are too shallow or they're "skidding" up and down instead of moving with control and accuracy. Last time I used it outdoors in below freezing so something must've happened there... Stupid me...

Having the same problem with my Triton. Haven’t torn it apart, waiting to see how yours turned out. Did you get the replacement part to fix the problem?

How long have you had the router before this problem occured? How often do you use the router?

I had the same problem exactly. Part no. 51 from the exploded diagram. I replaced the part yesterday and the mechanism works ok other than the free plunge not working now. I replaced the router with a Trend T11 (much more robust and simpler machine) in my table so now I have the Triton as a spare handheld. Not much point if the plunge isn't working freely though. What a piece of junk.

Jon, I'm glad you like your Trend T11 and it's a good-looking router. It either wasn't available or I didn't know about it when I got the Triton. It's a good option for anybody combing through these comments trying to decide on a router.

What is the link to order parts? I can not find any parts in the USA and have two of these routers: not real happy with them as both motors died: not overworked or abused. Local generic repair shop threw their hands up: "can't fix them"

Too right. Far too many people accept this throw away society! I choose products these days if the compnay has a robust spares department!

I would rather spend a little more now then have to replace it in a year. Seems more economical in the long run and I'm not sending crap to the landfill.
