I've listened to this song on repeat for hours now. Here's my interpretation: I LOVE the parallels between the author and the main character in the MV. Both of them have an inferiority complex when it comes to love and relationships. You can see the author using whatever he sees as reference for the scenes he writes in his novel. He most likely has NO to little experience with love. He mimics what he sees. Notice how he deleted that scene where the main character kissed his friend's girlfriend? It's either he thought it immoral or that he has no point of reference to continue where that scene is going. In the same way, the main character is in “love" with the girl but his inferiority complex runs deep. He calls himself a fragile and insignificant (invisible) person and feels that he doesn't deserve anyone's love. Here's what TK is trying to say: try to experience something through your own. We listen to songs that talk about love. We watch movies that talk about love. We hear people talk about love. But experiencing it yourself is different. You HAVE to experience and go through something on your own. Notice how the guy starts to change once he bought a camera? Although he is still “borrowing" something else's eyes, he is STILL finally looking at the world around him in a more serious manner. TK is right. Something borrowed is different from something you own yourself. Although I find it ironic since his TK's songs most definitely helped people go through hard times. Sorry for the long read! I could try to translate the lyrics into English, but the meaning is hard to keep in English.
My take on this story: I tink it's about being afraid to love/ feeling like love is something that would never happen to you. The writer probably sees himself in the photographer character and uses the waitress as reference for the female character. The waitress brings him coffee, so the girl brings the photographer coffee and then there's the deleted kiss scene... Maybe the writer feels like asking her out, but is so afraid to do it that he doesn't even allow his character to kiss her. The writer also gets some omlete so I wonder who's the character taking the omlete out of the fridge at the end.
@@FetishonyoutubeURL Anime Station i think that there's multiple layers of interpretation, toru kitajima likes the theme of deep romantic feelings betrayed by personal trauma/weakness, I personnaly think there is connection with TK's life but only him could tell us, but as the music video shows, it is probably the experience of the writter. Many things are metaphoric and connected, the novel writter and the photograph immortalize moments and they can add their own feelings into them. In the end of the video i think we can see the actual TK probably writting a song and this emphasize the mise en abyme, the link between all of the characters is that they are all "An Artist" (which is a song from his previous solo album that was abording the same themes btw), the point is to say that even the people that want to express by their art can also have problems expressing their natural feelings to other people simply. For me, this song is the "melting pot" of everything TK has expressed within his musics, don't forget that he is passionated with photography and writting in general too. The composition of the song is probably not his most complex and pretty much is very similar of what he has already done before but now that i think about it, it is probably exactly what he wanted. A *copy* of his previous songs but en*light*end (see what i did here) with the music video. (sorry for this bad written essay lol, i'm french and i haven't put everything i wanted to say but yeah, here's what i think about this song that i didn't like at first, but now i think it's a masterpiece.)

Lagu ini ngena banget buat jomblo yg belum pernah pacaran tapi umurnya udah 25-27 pengen nikah, tapi kondisi ekonomi sedang sulit.. 😁 banyak yg mau dibiayai, cicilan, sewa rumah, sekolah adik, uang untuk org tua, karena sibuk nya bekerja carik duit, sampai2 jatuh cinta pun sudah semakin susah..
As if this version wasn’t good enough he goes ahead and performs this live on the First Take. TK and LTS are just so good only they can one up themselves.
Naoki Matayoshi is the first Japanese comedian who won the Akutagawa Prize(one of the most sought after literary awards in Japan). It seems that he collaborated on producing this song.
【Novel in MV】 How many times have I continued these unusual days? The feeling of inferiority in you turned me into an banal man. The message from you has changed to just an alarm. Going to school doesn't change anything, doesn't guide me, I trid to protect something by telling myself I didn't want to think that taking action would lead to the future I had read in a weird book, "You can see the future when you look into the camera." It shouldn't be that way, but I picked up a cheap camera. If just taking a picture of the world silently, I might be able to do it by even banal me Perhaps today's comfortable feeling was probably not because I bought a camera, but because I was able to wipe out some inferiority We had no special dreams or talents, we just supposed to be having fun every day I don't think I want to go back to that time, but now I'm jealous to even them of past It’s not like I didn't run away, I just didn't notice It was my past that kept me away I could think carefree only when I looked into the camera If you live one day seriously, you can see that the day is extremely short "Today" I thought to want the end so quickly, is now frustrating if I don't have enough I felt the exposed photo proved my value Clash Aki dropped the beer she just bought "I'm sorry" Aki apologized "Taketo" I was called with a familiar voice There were Aki and Haruto I realized that I was living in a daily life like there were nobody bad guy We talked about periods we weren't meet We hadn't meet for days, but that story were over quickly, and we enjoyed meaningless story When it was dawn, it came back to reality. Haruki left home as usual, then Aki and I remained Then Aki gave me coffee as usual Oh, I had felt of inferior to these two I couldn't control my urge (Delete) Then Aki gave me coffee as usual After drinking this coffee, I will live neatly today I want to laugh and talk when the day we can meet again "Someday" "What is that" Aki laughed I am definitely here I couldn't be anyone, I didn't try to be anyone I couldn't see the future with my camera, but I felt I felt like I could see today's me Taking the new path was not difficult But I might stop again Because this story has just begun
This gem was released 2 years ago. And I JUST NOW found it. It’s treasure indeed. Even tho I don’t understand Japanese, I felt every word of it. And after I read the translation of the lyrics, It’s on repeat in my playlist rn. Can’t help it🫠♥️♥️♥️
TK fanbase come from tokyo ghoul/psycho pass/other anime fans around the world. While in japan, not everyone watch anime and know about TK. If you look at songs like Lemon by Kenshi Yonezu for example, you'll find equal Japanese to English comments ratio. Because thair fanbase is mostly japanese people
@@fariswfq Lemon fanbase came from a popular JP series. I think it must be super popular plus Yonezu himself is already popular so that song is such a hit enough to drag us too.
I feel the same. The MV reminds me of his blog, and the photos in the video are similar to those TK had taken. I hope I can understand what he wants to imply exactly, but I don't understand Japanese...😭😭(maybe it's like a memento of his younger time…I guess?)

It looks as if the author rejected the feelings of other people for him, but not because he did not love them, because he was afraid to hurt them, that he was not worthy of love, he was afraid to disappoint them, according to my observations, a similar message can be traced in several more songs. But of course I could be wrong. That's why I love TK, for the insanely beautiful lyrics, which sometimes is not at all easy to interpret, and everyone can interpret it differently depending on their experience.
i love this so much, for me personally i think the story is about a writer trying to write his own experience and the people in the cafe kinda influenced the image of the characters he was trying to portray in the character along with some of their habits. In the end the writer realized that he didnt need to find love from other people but from himself hence the sentence "don't be confused by the feelings of borrowing" bc selflove and love is different :0, I hope all of us gets to love ourselves one day, and one day we will indeed.
Darkus 23 most people in this world only cares for pop music, BTS and other s***, its not the 2000’s anymore. Where all genres are equal, now its just pop which is the majority of the popularity.
Another amazing song, TK, just know that your music reaches people like me half way across the world There are many people like me who listen to your music from all over the world, you touch so many with your music Thank you TK, i can speak for everyone when i say we can feel the depth and emotion in your songs
A little sneek peek of the song from TK's Instagram (for those who haven't heard of it yet): This may gonna be similar to the likes of "White Silence", "like there is tommorow", and "fourth". Update from Sigure Official Twitter: The song is gonna be released on iTunes and Spotify this midnight (00:00 am Tokyo time). We'll see if that's mean a global release. Update (my impression of the song): My god!! *SO MUCH* emotion he poured into this song, I feels like he's really feeling all that griefs, pains, and anxieties😲😭
@@chunchunmarupapachiru5425 Yeah, the teaser implies that it has similar style like the songs I mentioned above. You can look up his post here: instagram.com/p/B-mvSk_hkhZ/ Btw, are you Indonesian or Malay? Just asking
@@luenejay I see. It's gonna be a very introspective song for sure😊 Definitely not a coincide, lol😂 I just can't contain my excitement for the album release, so here I am😁
@@luenejay Agreed. Also yeah, I've been loving their musics lately. So many styles and influences in their music as it's all melded into unique songs through their unrestricted creativity😁 I feels like they're among those new faces who had rejuvenated popular music scene of this generation (exclusively, Japan popular music). Also if you love them, you may wanna try an indie band called WONK. They have pretty similar style and eclecticism (albeit less rock-ish but a lot jazzier and more experimental) and they're all close friend to all King Gnu members (both band are within the same communities so they often doing collabs and play music together). Also all their songs are written and sung entirely in English😉
OOMGG I'M SO HYPED, 2 months ago we had Chou no tobu suisou and now this!!!! Edit after watching: this is such a beautiful song the emotional build up is heartbreaking, yet again Tk proved that music can be felt.
Actually, he had already released a new song titled "Bonnou/凡脳" since Wednesday, last week😉 It's, however only available for stream and download officially in Japan (via iTunes and Mora) since it's supposed to be an album track preview. But if you're really want to listen it here, you can just search "tk from 凛として時雨 凡脳" on search bar.
I think this is a look into TK's past. Not verbatim probably, but still a very deep look into it. TK was really into film photography, in fact I remember one of the older Ling Toshite albums had a photo book of the photos TK took. Add to that the fact the other 2 characters in the story look VERY much alike the other two band members of Ling Toshite. Maybe this is even TK admitting that he liked the bassist but never acted on it? If all of that isn't enough, TK is in the video at the end. I got chills watching this and hearing it honestly.
