Rare event that someone on the losing side wins the Smythe (only 5 times in NHL history). If the Panthers win it all, then by all means one of those 2 deserve it...at least right now.
My Cats were minutes away from being eliminated in the first round. They were one point away from missing the playoffs all together. Now, look at em. What an unbelievable run they’re having, they just seem to get more and more confident in themselves every game. They play with so much heart! I’ve been dreaming of moments like this for so long. Back here to relive this for a minute… We were about 2 inches from losing 4-1 to Boston. Game 5, Marchand got a breakaway in the last seconds of regulation and Bobrovsky stoned him cold with a right pad save. 2 inches higher and it’s a goal. But we won in OT when Ullmark gave it away behind the net and we all know how the rest went.

Miami heat rn are playing hot (no pun intended) bucs recently won the Super Bowl and still have a unit of a team, lightning just got 2 cups and 3 appearances in the past 4 years, rays are doing phenomenal and now the panthers are going for a cup.
@@TheeKoifishenjoy it as much as you can. Very few teams win the cup in our lifetime. My leafs have never won cup since 1967 or made SCF how I wish this dream came true for my team but Florida deserves the cup
I'm Swedish and don't have a favourite NHL team. My boyfriend doesn't watch hockey at all. At the beginning of the playoffs I asked him which team I should be cheering for. He looked at the logos and decisively said the ones with the cat. I tried to explain that they were facing the Bruins and would surely lose. He just shrugged. Now I'm starting to worry this man is psychic...

This team is winning the Cup. I’m not even a Cats fan, but they’re performance this year is uncannily similar to the 2012 LA Kings and I’m loving it. To win their first Stanley Cup in the same fashion as the LA Kings did would be amazing. Everyone loves a good Cinderella story, and any team is better than Vegas winning it all, so let’s go Cats!

Yup kings fan here. The first series was more like our 2014 team. With the reverse sweep. But the Toronto and Canes series were vintage 2012 kings. And Sergei is literally 2012 Johnathan Quick. Love it
I love the Panthers, but realistically, I think this series is going to be just as hard as the Bruins'. Vegas has size and speed with great offense and defense. They are the west version of the Panthers right now. I think it'll be Panthers in 7.

I had the pleasure and complete honor to be in that stadium tonight to witness this amazing win. The energy was electric, there is something absolutely magical happening with the Florida panthers. We all thought it was going to be another OT-to win with 4 seconds to spear…. Easily one of the best moments I’ve had this year.
I would add to that, Bossy's were admittedly different as all the wins in that '83 series were by at least three goals each. So, getting the winners in one goal games isn't quite the same as getting the teams 3rd goal in what turns into a 5-2 victory, although statistically still the GWG
I feel bad for the Canes, I guess this is the closest sweep series ever, 2 OT loss, 3rd game they lost by 1 and even couldn't score ( cuz Bob was out of this world, like all PS he does) and in 4th they were tied until the 59.55s 😱 But Bob, Matthew and the team deserve it all!!! I’m a leafs fan and I was so salty after losing to Florida however they deserve the Stanley cup it’s a shame my leafs are still cupless for 55+ years at least they finally made it past round 1
Literally one of my fav goals ever already, like this was a March Madness type of moment but in pro hockey, the roof of that barn literally exploded. And also the panthers have literally been poverty since their like first 3 years of existing. Unbelievable goal to send them to the final THIS IS PLAYOFF HOCKEY

Now this is what hockey is all about. Can’t help but root for the Panthers on this magical run they are on. Tkachuk has helped revolutionize Florida hockey and it’s great to witness. Makes that trade even more puzzling for the Flames than it was at the time.

Was at this game live last night, can confirm the arena was a lot louder than that and the place was shaking when we scored in the last second of the game it was a moment me and the wife will never forget.
Brick Wall Bob at one end, Tkachuk at the other... I don't see how Vegas OR Dallas find a way past Florida. They just made the Hurricanes, a truly ELITE team, look downright average. This might legitimately be the most clutch series by one player in NHL history. Tkachuk scored B2B OT winners, assisted the game 3 winner, and now this. Holy moly indeed.

Devs fan, rooting for the Panthers. Finish this in the final! I went to an away game this year and was super impressed with FLA live arena. The horn is awesome and fans were LOUD! Mad respect, making this a team I root for in the future as well gotta love warm weather southern florida hockey.

As a Bolts fan, Im so happy for Panthers fans. Im also happy for the sport of hockey in the state of Florida. If the Cats win a Cup, its only helps grow the regional rivalry between the Bolts and Cats, but also, it will help legitimize hockey in the Sunshine State!
