Awesome video as always sir! I suppose if you had shipped from them direct, they would send the missing keyboard kit to you for free. As someone who used a few Infinikey sets, I can assure you, your concerns are founded. My take on the IFK keycaps from experience:- 1. Misaligned legends (Mine had misaligned 6 and 7 key on both different sets that I have) 2. Fuzzy legends (You can definitely tell the fuzziness of the keycaps) 3. The PBT quality is inferior to Geekark and ePBT by a long mile (I can clearly tell the difference in sound and feel when using IFK vs other PBT manufacturers) 4. If the render photos show white, it will come out as beige, that's the 'expected' color mismatch. I don't know how this is still acceptable in 2021
Fuzzy was the word I was looking for! I have the EPBT GOK BOW and the Infinikey caps look like knock offs next to this. Looks like I will regret my Amalfi purchase. Thanks though for the info :(
Wow TKC is charging you for their shipping mistake? That’s really messed up. Edit: looks like Dredgen was referring to having to pay for forwarding a second time to get his second board. thanks for clarifying!
They are technically not charging me. However since they made the mistake, I need to ship it again from my from my forwarder to the Philippines which will cost me additional shipping.
I ordered an 'in-stock' one in early June and its stuck somewhere in shipping :( seems like their fulfilment center has some issues hopefully it arrives! Nice review!
TKC might have their issues, but the Portico bangs, I have mine built with lubed Boba U4T and lubed Durock V2s, it sounds better than boards that cost twice as much.
I ordered the portico and some kiwis but they forgot to send the kiwis! LOL. I should have listened when you said beware. Oh well. Hope they're able to send the switches. Great video btw!
Really unfortunate that tkc continues to have issues with their orders/shipping. Regardless, i copped an extra the moment i could bc i loved the poppiness of the board!! Having an nk65, i really wanted something not thocky and this really hits home.
Been waiting for your review on this, Ive been liking mine so far, but the right alt doesnt work but its fine ill prob just resolder the hotswap pad soon, other than that its a great keyboard.
@@TheDredgenProject i actually remapped it to the letter q and i was pressing the switch and it wasnt working and i pressed the other keys and those worked. Its just the key, i did look at the pcb and the socket but it was more of a quick glance but it looked fine. I might just desolder and resolder it once i get solder.
Order a mint portico the day extras went on sale. Hopefully no problems with shipping or qc. Was pretty lucky considering that colors other than terminal green seem to have sold out by now.
@@TheDredgenProject hopefullym. There is a little funny technicality though. It is an order of a kit and some krytox. At least I live in the US, so this isn't that difficult to wait.
Thanks!I don't like the velvets that much to be honest. The tactile bump is short and small. I usually like rounded medium sized bumps liek on the Gazzew U4T so this one was a pass for me.
@@TheDredgenProject I have Bobas and Purple Pandas (not sure if they're recolors?) ordered for a first build, but shipping's taking its sweet time. BTW, your vids helped me decide on a low-end starter and I just ordered an ID80v1 over an AK84 and Portico. Thanks!
Hi do you think the standard gasket mount such as in this Portico will degrade after some time? I mean by degrade is the foam of the gasket might shrink or cracks or something like that therefore might not age long. And do portico has a file for the plate? I want to commish a PC plate for it since I love more flex like on a PC plate
Hi I am new in mechanical keyboard and just bought my first Portico one. How do we turn off the RGB light in Portico? I wasn't able to use my layer 1 keys when configuring in VIA app. Can someone help me?
@@TheDredgenProject thanks mate! Upside down and half bent off portico badge on the back 😂 I can only assume they realised it was upside down, attempted to peel it off, failed and were like oh well - close zipper send off. They are replacing it apparently but I’m just waiting on a tracking number.
Damn this sounds good without the silicone dampeners! How much was the portico keycap? haha will you sell it? Anyways, another great video, looking forward for more
I'm not a fan of the RGB effects on this board, tbh. The LEDs are to sparse. Also not a fan of the C3 stabs... Ordered some from tkc a year ago and ran into my own issues with fulfillment, only to have several wires show up severely bent (they ship with everything in a single ziploc, in a bubble mailer.
@@TheDredgenProject Me too. I feel like the C3 are a weird offering. I know they're a bit cheaper than Durocks but I think most people would rather pay a few dollars more and get threaded inserts. I don't understand why they didn't use them. After going through the trouble of an rma, I ended up stripping a stabilizer using a wowstick, and then another going finger tight (I know I should just be more careful but I was gentle, I swear). After that I just gave up on them and went back to Durock.
@@truthxbl I think they own c3 if I'm not mistaken? I'm nit sure though. The inner housing can't hold lube since it's base is small and the material is just nit as smooth as the clear plastic on Durocks.
@@TheDredgenProject something is going on... I have also had more than one issue with TKC, for much simpler products.. like a missing second lube.. or 3/4 switches being off.. its the details that matter. But those are growing pains of a smaller company that has as much exposure as they do when it comes to the keyboard community.
@@shanfaizi9998 Yeah but I think they really need to step up their game. I understand being a small company but I have ordered from small and large companies in this hobby and this is hands down the biggest mess up I had seen.
Seriously? They asked to pay the shipping mistake? That's a big thumbs down. Would've taken a mistake but that right there is bad accountability and customer service :\ disappointing from a promising entry level keyboard.
@@TheDredgenProject will the kbd lite come back in stock in the future? i’m planning on getting the portico and then the kbd lite in the future, also great video man!
@@phish5213 There is a kbd67 lite round 2 but I think it finished the group buy. Some stores will sell it in stock for sure like the round 1. If you miss that there will surely be a round 3 :)
Whoa! I would have expected it to sound clackier without the felt foam, the board Indeed sounds terrible without them, almost like a prebuilt. So far, the KBD67Lite is the only plastic board that has done things right. Hoping the Ikki gives it a run for its money.
Yeah hoping to get my hands on the Ikki! I was also hoping it would sound better without the felt but you really never know until you try. It is a good attempt but I am not buying anything from TKC anytime soon!
