Interesting and well done! I have however an observation: in the circuit diagram shown at 5:38, are the two pwm signals complementary ( one goes up while the other goes down with some dead time in between?

Hi dear friend . Yes, exactly two pwm signals are complementary, one goes high while the other goes low with some dead time in between.

@@TricksOfAli Thank you. The signals as drawn do not reflect that though. My other question is; is the Pwm signal too week that we need the two transistors at each outputting to boost it or do they serve other purpose? Thank you?

The pwm output is 5 volts and we make the output 12 volts with two transistors, and the pwm ic output is not enough to run several transistors.

Queria realizarte algunas consultas: ¿La tensión máxima de los pulsos PWM obtenidos a la salida de que valor es? ¿Esta tensión maxima es regulable o siempre será constante? ¿Esos pulsos PWM obtenidos en la salida se podrían usar para alimentar un puente H? Muchas gracias por el video, fue de mucha ayuda.

Hola, disculpa la demora. El voltaje de salida es de 12 voltios. Se puede cambiar a través de los transistores de amplificación de pulso, pero no necesita un voltaje más alto, 12 voltios son suficientes para controlar los transistores, pero puede usar transistores más grandes para aumentar su corriente.

Hi. It is such a great video! I would love to use this pwm control to control the speed of an ec fan. Which pin of tl494 is the pwm output that goes to the fan? Do you think the tl494 would also work with Vcc=5v coming from usb c port? The datasheet recommends 7-40v. It says max 41v and it mentions no minimum. Would it work without transistors? Regards phil

Hello. TL49 should work better with 12V voltage, it cannot be started or it does not work properly with 5V because of the 5V regulator inside the IC. What are the specifications of the fan you want to control?

@@TricksOfAli thank you for your answer. That’s a pity it will not work with 5v. My fan needs 4.5v-6.2v. Maybe i can give it a try anyway. Otherwise i would probably make the design with two ne555.

@@TricksOfAli hi. I just tested it and it works perfectly well with Vcc 5v. The ic self regulates the control voltage. It is now at 3.8v in my project which is enough. Thanks again for you video

How can I calculate the powrr ratings for all the resistors..are they different according to their pin or can I just take it as my total input/output power of the circuit?

The power of resistors depends on the number of transistors and their power. (Their accurate calculation requires the information of the whole circuit and the model of the parts)

Hola buen video,te queria preguntar si es obligatorio usar esos transitores NPN y PNP,o puedo solamente usar la salida para existar la bace de dos transistores NPN?

Hola querido amigo . Para impulsar los MOSFET, se necesita más corriente que la corriente de salida del IC. Pero en potencias por debajo de los 100 watts, se puede usar sin transistores

In bc547 current drawn is 100ma. So s8850 is used
