Tla'amin treaty in effect 

On April 5, 2016, at 12:01 a.m., the Tla’amin treaty came into effect, ushering in a new era for the Tla’amin people as a self-governing First Nation, equipped with the tools and authority to take control of its future. Tla’amin Nation has ownership over its lands and resources, law-making authority related to its land, culture, public services, and rights relating to fishing, hunting and gathering throughout its traditional territory.
