I was very surprised that Craig knew about the Fort Worth Dallas feud. It is indeed a real thing. Dallas calls the DFW the Metroplex and we in Fort Worth call it the West-o-plex. We don't care to include Dallas.
It’s a thing Craig does when he brings audience members up to the stage. Typically it’s out of towners, like these ladies that sat in lesbian row. Lots of time it’s foreigners, but these ladies have never watched his show before. So he brings them up makes jokes and sometimes sends them to dinner. It’s like an interrogation with perks. The horse he sometimes brings out to investigate the audience members to be sure they are on the up and up. It’s cute and it gives the secretariat more screen time. They send them to a couple of different places. Like Craig’s and the Ivy are two places they send them to and I believe Mastro's Steakhouse was another eatery. They make it sound like CBS pays for their meals, but I’m guessing the restaurants give the studios gift certificates to give away. It’s cheap advertisement and millions of people hear about the restaurant. Then they go visit when they come to town. Like the Ivy is a popular place for celebrities to go to and then tourist go when they come to town on vacation to eat and see celebrities.
You have to remember he was a heavy drinker and ddrug addict in the 80s. So he probably doesn’t remember much even when his cherry got broken. So he may imagine it happened in Filey, but it could have happened somewhere near bloodpool and his mind thinks it was Filey.
Other than when Colbert had RUSH on.....there has been nothing on late night worth watching but Craig. I loved Jenna Louise Coleman on Dr. Who, and Karen Gillan. Both were awesome and lovely.
Word is he's leaving of his own accord. He's already hosting 'Celebrity Name Game' AND negotiating for an early evening half-hour talk show. If the latter works out, it'll be interesting to see if he adopts the standard format or continues to satirize it. I hope the chat show comes through because I suspect the game show will not last. It uses only one of the games from the far superior 'Hollywood Game Night' and even Craig can't keep that interesting.
Lol, it's 7 years, but let's answer it. He talked about loosing his virginity. The metaphor is that someone took his cherry, which is a common phrase people use.
