To be honest, I have died more times in this game then I did at botw.

This game is quite tough if you don’t plan ahead in a lot of instances. If you have mastery of the mechanics, the game becomes quite easy.

question: can you die from opening the door in the beginning island?

Good question! If I get the chance tomorrow I’ll check. Chances are it’s like pulling the master sword in botw. raaru will probably stop you once but not twice.
