There are no standard diagnostic criteria for capsulitis or synovitis. Emphasis is more on hypo and hyper mobility rather than explaining the cause of it. A true clinician with experience in treating many TMD patients will know how hard it is to classify it. Disc pathology shall be covered bit more as it is the major cause of intracapsular problem. But my heartfelt congrats for attempting this because TMD awareness is very less in the field so this should bring some. Thanks.

If a jaw deviates from an anteriorly displaced disc without reduction, there may be NO inflammation. Therefore, there will be no pain on lateral palpation of the affected TMJ.
