I was hoping that Leroy would be like Feng or Shaheen with his fundamentals, Miguel or Lei with his constant usage of a stance (my dream Leroy was one that uses defensive techniques as his main offense (counters, parries, dodges, etc) and offensive techniques as his defensive tools (super armor, orbitals, fast attacks, etc.), and Wang's parry system. Maybe even having it so that all of his attacks are worse in damage than any other character, and above average frames, but counter hits recieve the highest damage increase in the game, and damage scaling in combos that start from counter hits is decreased by about 50% (IE, normal combos have their damage scaling end at about 30-40%. His would theoretically end at 45-60%). Normal combos would have slightly decreased scaling as well of 25%. (Instead of 30-40% scaled damage at the end, itd be 38-50% scaled damage). This would also mean that on counter hit, his attacks would do full damage for quite at few more hits than normal.

Well technically they are nerfing Leroy, but not really enough...

Yeah i love his design and moves i wish they had made him weirdly slippery or given him a bizarre moveset like a big muscle guy that fights like a ballerina

@@rilohoneu6030 I think he does have that to an extent. The times I played him I remember having a lot of "wait...that didn't hit!?" moments. His major weakness seems to be how damn slow his moves are. Real easy to literally beat Gigas to the punch.

Dude, company needs to sell new chars. New Fuckyourmum should be even stronger than Leroy so the game is "balanced" as all new chars. will be much better than the old cast and then slowly get nerfed until they are just a little bit better than them. Then start erasing the old cast as the roster gets too big, so you can sell old chars. as Jin shippuden or Kazuya 2 with new dlcs. Hell, people should be allowed to vote on which chars. they want in the next dlcs, votes are ofc 2 dollars each.

Make leeroy older, so they have an excuse to reduce his range, his strength and speed and maybe they can make that leeroy absorbs more damage than other charactres. Just to make a balance with lore, gave him a cancer as the way he is for the game so he can not do the stuff he does anymore.

To be honest, big Tekken figures need to stop playing Tekken if they really want to show that they want change. They're only letting Bamco Execs and Tekken Devs know that they can abuse them constantly when they keep crawling back to them and giving them cash and attention to do so.

Meanwhile, there will always be the next generation, the next set of professionals for the shitty execs to exploit. Just saying that the decision isn't one you or I can imagine making. @@honeybabes2017 pressing 1,2,3 and 4 create an animation where your opponent does something to charge up their fists to make them yellow, giving a free counter hit. But you can't block while you're fists are yellow. It's recommended for characters like King or Law.

@@azaku9755 Well, the tiers aren't necessarily equally distributed. I wouldn't say there's 20 characters worse than him. But maybe around 10-ish. Gigas, Eliza, Anna, Kuma, Panda, Yoshi, AK, Noctis, Bob, Eddy just to name some. One could argue about 2-3 more characters I think. But that's just my opinion. You don't have to agree with it and I respect yours, even if it's different to mine.

What do you play it on? On PS4 I started using Josie a month ago and only fought 5 Leroys.. They are slowly diminishing. Since you use Kazuya it should be easier for you since you have 50/50. Just lab up a little bit more and learn when to counter and how to get big damage off of counters.

Why not just ban Leroy until they fix him? Very simple solution. I'm not an advocate of banning in general, but sometimes it's the right choice. When 1 character is destroying what makes the game an interesting and worthwhile competitive game (no one want to watch 64 Leroys fight each other) the answer is clear. This is the very reason why, although to a lesser extent, I finally gave up on SSBM. After spending 2 fucking years just learning the basics of that game (not exaggerating) it made no difference because the same 4 fucking characters (with some VERY, VERY sparse exceptions) are what you always see in finals, and they aren't even interesting to watch. Some people like to ogle Fox players and jerk it to waveshining (I don't give a fuck how hard it is to do; overpowered is overpowered. By the way, it's not even that hard to do and it looks stupid as fuck), but I find that shit ridiculously boring and stupid. Equally so is Falco's stupid drill combo bs, and his goddamn lasers which are probably one of the most overpowered things in any game ever. I'm adamantly opposed to even referring to SSMB as a "fighting game," because 1) it's not, 2) it isn't even possible to play the game in a remotely interesting way without disabling about 98% of the game's features, 3) the number of viable characters is far too low, and 4) many people who are very much into SSBM don't even play or suck major ass at real fighting games. I met Mango in real life once and he barely even acknowledged my greeting. He was probably just nervous when I approached him because he's like a little kid compared to me (then and now).

The netcode is a big let down. Not even fun to play anymore.

Joe Gillian No one banned Jin in Tekken 4, despite all the reason in the world to. Tekken players don’t ban. Plus I think Leroy is intentionally OP because Namco did it for da lulz or whatever.

​@@SolidSonicTH There are cases of Tekken characters being banned from tournament play, and to reiterate, banning is never the ideal solution (what's the point of content they can't get used or is broken in some way to the point of being unusable?) I can see Namco making Leroy overpowered on purpose as plausible only in a few situations, such as if he were a guest/non-original character, or system specific/exclusive. Prior to around the time of Tekken Tag 2 there did not seem to be a highly formulaic and standardize protocol for designing techniques and characters in Tekken games. That is to say, the so-called move archetypes which we Identify today were not as clearly defined in terms of frame data and properties. Just for example, today, with few exceptions, techniques are generally not faster than 10 frames, lows are almost never completely safe on block, and mid hitting attacks are almost never faster than 12 frames and if they are they are highly situational or have some sort of obvious weakness(s). Leroy has a move which violates this 3rd principle of mid attacks in Tekken games, and this is far from the only example. Leroy makes us feel as though Namco has forgotten everything they've learned about balancing over the past 20 years of Tekken, or maybe they're just trying something completely insane that's never been done before (like that time they made almost every character overpowered in some way in Tekken 5, lol sarcasm).
