Cutely sobs while remembering this episode I still cant get over how the others get sent to an alternate universe that's somewhat related to their interest (Mikey - likes superheros, Raph - likes racing, Leo - besties w Usagi) while DONNIE??? DONNIE GETS SENT TO THAT???? Cmon Ultimate Draco, I thought your grudge was with Leo not the Donnie boy 💀💀 -Still would pay to see more of that dystopian future tho- Edit: ugh autocorrect strikes again
Actually, Mikey's experience in an alternate universe was pretty traumatizing, as well. Seeing Splinter transformed into an evil, Shredderesque character named Sliver. Mikey not only assists in defeating his father's dimensional alternate, but, kills him. That said, Same as it Never Was is and will always be one of my favorite episodes, it is also one of the reasons that the 2003 TMNT format was completely revamped. Sad on so many levels.
Well in most versions of TMNT, Donnie's ultimate fate is the worst one, sadly. His most common fate is that his physical body dies and his brain gets put into Metalhead 2.0. So he's basically a second Fugitoid
We've seen some really cool and interesting TMNT crossovers lately; TMNT/Batman, TMNT/Ghostbusters, TMNT/Power Rangers and coming up next TMNT/Street Fighter, but mashing up the turtles with Terminator was a pretty bold move, especially considering the age group that this show was meant for. This was easily one of the darkest TMNT stories ever told and it was an episode of a cartoon series that was aimed at young kids. I know they were trying to revolve the show around the darkly toned Mirage turtles, which I greatly appreciated, without going too dark of course, but this was still pretty ballsey on their part.
wasn't this part of an arc where the turtles are transported to different places and Mikey gets sent to a world where the turtles have superpowers and splinter is a version of the shredder.
To watch a show like this for the first time would be great. I don’t remember everything because I watched it as a kid and probably didn’t even see the whole thing but I doubt grown me would enjoy it as much
This episode was great! A little glimpse into the darker side of the Turtles. It always reminded me of the Image comics run (Mirage volume #3) where Leo loses an arm, Raff has half of face an is wearing Casey's mask, Donatello's dead and is now controlled by a cyborg! Splinter mutates into a bat, and yeah, Michelangelo's just Mikey lol 🍕
Oh I know this episode very well...I watched it when I was a kid. It really made the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles🥷 🐢 really stand out more. It's one of my favorites from the 2003 series.
This one is sad episode but also "The Journal" in which Cody edited the book because Splinter warned turtles that reading past will have it's consquences when time travelling they were curious in that episode Mikey turned Justice Force into babies,Leo knew that Karai will betray the Ninja Tribunal but the tribunal acused Leo of being traitor,Raph and Casey got into fight with Purple Dragons then got teleported to an island and Donnie got hit by meteor when travelling in space with Utroms he was healed but only his brain remained undamaged however they realized that it was used as example to not interfere with past even with best intents TMNT 2003 was best cartoon ever I wish they continued making more seasons
This is actually my inspiration of the shredder Ranger 2.0 where the shredder now has the Lord drakkon power coin making himself the most powerful ranger alongside with his foot rangers
For some reason, this episode was easier to swallow than TMNT 2012's 'Raphael: Mutant Apocalypse'. That episode brought me to tears (especially considering it was originally written as the canon ending for TMNT 2012)
Anybody else remember that episode where this mutant got cut in half and was trying to pull itself back together? I remember it being pretty tragic. There were like these flashbacks of when the mutant was a human. I remember seeing that, but I can’t remember what episode it was
The pacifist out of the four turtles, whom rather use words, is the one to be sent to such a dark and heartbreaking alternate future... (; _ ;) The 2003 Donatello is my nr. 1 favorite out of all the series, so it was so sad to watch it...
How about that one episode where Donnatello and this guy got drafted into fantasy world with some magical pencil, and by the end he refused to returned back to the real world and prefered to stay in the fantasy world
That's the darkest story I've ever heard. I don't know all episodes from the 2003 Ninja TURTLES series. Otherwise i have all the series from the TURTLES that have ever been published in Germany.😉 The only thing missing is the complete box from 2003, then I would have them all. Well, exceptions determine the rules 🍒 "Rise of the... I forget voluntarily."
2003 series: Depicts a dystopian future where Shredder rules the world and the Turtles are brutally killed off one by one. Fans: Y'all hear sumthin'? 2012 series: Does almost the exact same thing with Mutant Apocalypse, only the turtles are still alive and together in a Mad Max parody world. Fans: REEEEE, THIS IS TOO DARK AND DEPRESSING, THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A KIDS SHOW!
Hey guys, I just finished watching Season 5 and watched half an episode of Season 6 and I'm suddenly disgusted, why did they suddenly change the style of drawing?! Is the story of the sixth and seventh seasons worth watching?
