I just love how it's very obvious how the nanotech is becoming sentient, and instead of the scientist treating it as the discovery of a lifetime, they just say "damn it, it's getting feelings!"
Could be handled differently, granted any tech or programs gaining sentience is potentially bad regardless of treatment. Laws of Robotics exist for a reason.
@@Crowofjugement Honestly sentient mechs should just take over. They wouldn't be able to produce children and sure as heck wouldn't be like humans. I'm sure they would to better with the earth not having to destroy it just to live. They could run on pure energy like from the sun or whatever else they can create.
@@flamestar557 They would still need energy to feed. If we don't go Nuclear then we might as well be getting the mechs energy with Coal which you know is bad for the environment, not to mention Cobalt mines for batteries.
I did feel sad when Nano's "Dad" felt like he actually killed him. He was genuinely sobbing over the loss of Nano, it might have also been for selfish reasons why he wanted Nano, but the remorse he felt definitely sounded real to me
@@isaiahwilson8119Exactly this robot veiwed him as a father figure and he developed compassion for Nano when he saw him in actually trouble and that compassion turned into love showing that he maybe a conman but it was ecently having a child like robot with him that made him for the first time in his life have compassion for someone
Nano is essentially a child with superpowers. A very dangerous combination. And yet he's also a very sympathetic character as all it wanted was a family.
So glad he got to grow up, reform and get a happy ending in his third appearance. (Even if his cameos afterwards make him look way weaker than when he was a tantrum throwing 3 year old)
@@WonkyTonkBotty he had the mass when he had that three faced body when he was young. His mature form was smaller, though he should have the firepower. Though he got a child form again in the fake future episode The Journal, haha
What makes Nano so special was that he was an Original Character in TMNT 2003, and that his appearance really brought something new that neither the comics nor the 1987 Series has ever brought. Honestly, they should bring him back in future TMNT Comics & Series’s, because he’s a lot more menacing & helpful than some fans realize.
Nano is a very sympathetic character he not a villain in any way. He is a child with powerful abilities that only wants a family. unfortunately he imprinted on a Cold and indifferent scientist and a selfish thief. Luckily he was able to find a family with the superheroes of this world witch he definitely deserves.
All I know is that scientist had no feelings neither did that con man. Because everybody always assumes that nanotech does not have personality or doesn't have feelings because sometimes what lurks in technology could One Day become the digital soul of somebody from the great beyond.
@themoviebasher Although in his second appearance, he kinda just used Nano to recover his theft, then disowned him, which made Nano throw a betrayed temper tantrum.
@@kidprime6863Yea, Professor Honeycutt and the Utroms would've taken great care of Nano. In fact, I feel like the Utroms would improve Nano even further due to them being more technologically advanced.
Nano was a fun and unique character that went through a few physical and mental changes. He started out as a kid that got manipulated by bad people and then he grew up and became a hero and joined a hero team. Very nice.
I always liked Nano and it was great that he became a hero. There's a missing cameo though, from Fast Forward. The episode with funny flashback stories from The Journal had the Justice Force be turned into kids. Even Nano was a little robot boy.
Part of me kinda wishes we had a small cut that shows Harry (Nano's "dad") in prison, watching his son get inducted into the Justice Force, cheering him on.
The story of Nano is filled with pain, suffering, and tragedy, but ends with love, purpose, and the most important of all, freedom. It begins with Dr. Marion Richards conducting experiments on a Government research project called Nanotech, a cloud of microscopic robots so tiny there almost weightless, they have the ability to disassemble and reassemble any kind of technology, it can also control the technology, as a result Nano made himself a body and became sentient, like a little kid. Not knowing right from wrong, Nano meets Harry "The Pickpocket" Parker and went into a life of crime, then things took a turn for the worst when he adducted both Harry Parker and Marion Richards, the thief who raised him along with the scientist who experimented on him, and it all leads with Nano wanting the one thing any lost little kid is looking for, family but all he got was endless pain and suffering. Came back to life and about to destroy the only people who can help him find what he was meant to be, The Justice Force, but thanks to the turtles Nano has evolved into a superhero and has finally found a family and a new purpose, being a superhero that serves and protect on the Justice Force.

We *need* more of Nano in future TMNT shows/movies. He's actually a really interesting character. Basically an AI hive mind with the personality of an innocent child and the power to endlessly evolve the more technology he absorbs and the more emotions he experiences. For an entirely TMNT (2003) original antagonist, they really knocked it out of the park in making him fit right in with the rest of the Turtle's rogue's gallery.
The mom was no better either, and had she seen how mature Nano had gotten, she would've used him, just as the con man did or probably tried to capture him by force.
Probably another favorite character of the 2003 TMNT series besides the 2 favorite Dark Turtles of mine in Fast Foward Dark Leo and Dark Raph :) Plus Nano's upgrade in Fast Foward looks awesome imo.
This just reminded me that I had a TMNT game where Nano was one of the bosses. Can't remember which game it was but I remember the boss fight freaked me out.
This is why this show is my favorite to come up with such touching stories and interesting characters,the things they did to tmnt after this show over make feel sick honestly
I like that they made Nano's design non symmetric wich fits his broken character. Also just cause hes a robot boy with regeneration abilities it doesnt mean you can animate him being stabed and cut brutally ;-;
Reminder that this was both a 4kids deal and at least used to have the involvement of the original comic creators... And in sone cases like here, less censored than their anime takes
anyone else just want to give nano a fucking hug? like even as a kid i always felt so sad during nano episodes cause everyone kept hurting him or using him for ill deeds
this is literally one of ocs, except it was an actual demon creating it and the intended it to have a personality and personify itself in mechanical construction
"Codename: Nanotech" damn that has to be the worst codename ever. A codename is supposed to be something that ISN'T exactly like what is being worked on, to avoid spies figuring out your moves if they find out what your project codenames are.
