I gotta admit that when I was a kid, after I obtained all the four turtles figures, I wanted that vehicle so badly but only the cheapskates and the Turtle Blimp were left in the shelfs at the mall, so I made one out of the shoe box... Lol

The Turtle Van was the first vehicle I had for any action figures. As a 4 year old, I drove it all around my house with my original Turtles.

I had the Turtle van as a kid, think my parents bought it new for me around 92/93. Early on the foot tenderiser broke on me so had to fix it with superglue. Orange tab on the roof, remember it clearly because I thought it broke the sculpt too much and it drew attention to it when the roof was folded up. The mirrors did have a longer one at the bottom, making it lose its grip at the top pretty fast and looked weird. The flip visor broke on me on one side so that thing was useless to me after about a year, think weak plastic was the cause, didn't help the radar dish was kinda heavy for it to be held up as intended too. The downside with it is its still in my home I grew up with, unless my step dad haven't sold it on a flea market since we lost contact years ago. But now I finally have all 4 turtles in the same line :)

Been going on a bit of a binge with your videos. Glad I found your channel! As a kid I too never had the Party Wagon, so when I saw a reissue, I made sure to pick one up. It was missing the door sticker, but I found a replica sticker sheet on Etsy that worked perfectly. Still, those originals are hard to beat.

Ash Williams (Army of darkness) or Josh Mcgrath (Max Steel) or Action Man (1993) be like He Man, Ash or Guts / Gatsu (berserk) have the Armor final suit, Ash & Cheryl 20 years old have more equivalents from others dimensions in tmnt

Use lyson to leave the van like new, it will remove everybad scratch and paint and wont damage the paint just keep it away from the stickers.

I still have my original '88 Turtle Van (yeah, "Party Wagon" just doesn't have the same ring to it), I got it for Christmas 1988 when I was only three years old. She's seen some action over the last three decades, but she's still got it where it counts, kid. Haha! Anyway, it seems that the original release had the orange "latch" on the roof and the shorter mirror pegs. I'm guessing that Playmates had some issues with the latches and pegs breaking, so in later releases they made some modifications to make them more sturdy and reliable. Also, casting the whole roof as one solid component, rather than screwing in an extra piece was probably a huge time and money saver for them. But that's just a guess on my part.

I think that’s a good guess. I never had the van as a kid, but boy did I want it haha. Neca’s should be awesome. At least they said that would be a preorder too. Thankfully!

the only thing i can add to the orange tab discussion on the roof is that my childhood party wagon has the orange tab thingy and i was a very lucky kid my parents got this van very early on

I remembered I watched 'the toys that made us', the He-man designer, Mark Taylor the one who designed this party wagon.... He made the Volkswagen van, 'sexy' he said.....

A rerelease of the technodrome would be cool just to have the huge box with that awesome box art. I’d like them to rerelease mutant modules. It’d be cool to have multiples on display.

Big thumbs up on some kind of coffee table book of all the box and card art from TMNT. There was a stretch from the 80's into the early 90's that had some awesome figure lines with great artwork i.e. TMNT, GI Joe, Ghostbusters, Batman, and so forth, then everything just got kind of plain and generic.

I agree! I’m glad the new MOTU origins figures has some actual artwork on the back of the cards. Marvel Legends has been getting better artwork on the sides of the boxes, but it looks more digital than classic art. The MOTU looks kind of like a mix of old and new. But yeah, the old artwork was amazing. I’d hang the artwork to the technodrome box on my wall. I just thought of it, I haven’t bought any of super7’s reaction figures, because I’m already spending too much money haha, but the artwork on their reaction Tmnt and Thundercats looks amazing. I’ve been debating a few of them just for the art.

I know this is an old video but do you think playmates will reissue the mutant module and technodrome?

That’d be cool if they did. Both vehicles have a lot of different parts so I can’t see them faithfully reproducing all of them. They didn’t even reproduce the original turtle blimp. They used the glider from the 2012 series.

Unfortunately no. My 1988 playmates Tmnt collection is mostly everything from the first 5-6 years and then I just have some things here and there after that. I only had like 5 vehicles in the beginning of the year, but I lucked out and found a huge lot on Facebook. It was incredible and I was able to almost fill in everything I needed. I’ve been debating making a video about it just because of how crazy the collection was. It wasn’t even a collector, just someone’s pristine childhood collection that he has in his moms house. I was incredibly grateful that he let me buy it haha.

@@razrentals8897 Hi, fair enough, was shocked how expensive it is now. Managed to complete mine a few years ago. Got two off eBay from different sellers combining the two completed it including the figure. Nice one well done on your find. Please do be great to see. I had to re-buy my collection, I use to look after my toys, but had a younger cousin who trashed it while I was at school! Guaranteed with him anything that he got was lost and or damaged within minutes of him having it.

@@No1.OriginalTrilogyStarWarsFan I was really rough with my toys when I was a kid and broke most of them. I had like 10 survivors and everything else I’ve bought since then. I just liked doing things like pretending they’d get thrown off of balconies, freeze them, car crashes, burying them in sand/dirt. Like I said I didn’t have many leftovers, but I had some good times. The person I bought from earlier this year said he was very protective of all of his toys when he was a kid. Those people are your friends now haha. They’re the best people to buy old toys off of. The kids that wouldn’t let you touch their toys when you went over their house. Also I’ve noticed as a video game collector whenever I buy games at yard sales more women will have games that are clean and in pristine condition. Most guys games look like they were spilling soda on them and throwing them around the room. Especially hand held systems.

@@razrentals8897 Fair enough, looking back they were toys, just like Star Wars they were kids toys once. Started collecting SW at 10 so they were treated with kid gloves as was older and playing with toys wasn't much of a thing for me any more. Also been older didn't let my cousin near them even my mum wouldn't touch them as I started been a collector. Agree about female collectors with games they are much better condition then the ones guys had. My cousins brother trashed his mega drive with grease from crips, drinks spilt on them and goodness knows what.

I remember one time I was at my cousins and I was trying to transform a white transformer plane he had and I accidentally broke a piece. I felt awful about it, but I was one of those cousins haha. Sometimes I wish I would have been nicer to my toys. I had so many back in the day. I didn’t have many Star Wars figures I just remember having Luke in his flying gear and someone having the character checklist in kindergarten so I got to see all of the other figures in the line and I thought they looked awesome. I was born in 84 so I mostly had marvel secret wars, real ghostbusters, Tmnt, Batman and then in the 90s marvel toys completely took over except for some Batman toys. Everyone I knew had heman in the 80s so I got to play with handbedowns after awhile when they didn’t want them, though I did have a few things brand new like Spydor. It’s weird as an adult now. I have so many toys in my office and my kids have never really tried to play with them or anything. They had a lot of their own toys, but I think they mostly want to play with video games. Now my son is ten and he didn’t open the last few TMNT toys I bought him saying he wants to collect them. I’m told him that’s a can of worms you don’t want to open haha.

How many foot soldiers do you have?

I think 6 or 7. I only bought the first one online. I’ve been lucky and have found a few at local comic/toy shops, and a couple at yard sales or local facebook lots I’ve bought. If I get doubles of TMNT figures I usually get rid of them, but I’ll keep the foot soldiers since you can make an army out of them.

@@razrentals8897 wow, now I'm kinda jealous. I have only 4 of original playmates samples. And it was really long and expensive way to get them on eBay (only two of them, because I had a pair of soldiers back in my childhood). And only six from neca (with slashed and bashed soldiers). And I want to have a ten foot soldiers from both companies. I've got a lot of job to do. By the way, really good and informative content.

If Neca was smart they’d put foot soldiers up for preorder on their site because a lot of people will want to build an army. I wonder if next year their deal with target won’t be as binding and maybe they’ll have more freedom to post more. I’m hoping to get a few triceraton/roadkill Rodney figures. In my review for them I showed what Rodney looks like next to the playmates toys and they look great. I’d like some for both displays. I’ve been meaning to do a review on the ultimates foot soldier, but I only have one. I should have two others, but my comic store hasn’t received the ones I ordered from diamond yet. Hopefully they’re not cancelled. The one I have has elbow issues so I wanted to see if it was common. Thanks for the positive feedback! I’m glad you found it informative. I figured even if I was boring people I’d like to go into excruciating detail and cover things people might not have noticed haha.

Did you end up preordering the Super 7 Ultimate Party Wagon? $500 was a bit too much for me to justify spending on a toy so I passed.

I didn’t preorder it, but I plan on it. I think it was bad timing on their end to have it right by Christmas, especially when so many other preorders were up at the same time.

Yep! I actually shot some video of it in my Neca triceraton/roadkill Rodney review because I showed how roadkill Rodney looked with the playmates toys in the technodrome. Eventually I want to do a technodrome review, but I’m working my way there. Thanks for asking!

It is awesome that it can connect, but in all honesty I had no idea it was supposed to do that until this year! It’s a really awesome feature though. I probably didn’t know because I never had a technodrome as a kid, I just had the sewer lair. My buddy had both, but I don’t remember combining the two.

@@razrentals8897 Indeed you will lol. I had no idea either until someone pointed it out. Agree even if you had both it not something that would have really clicked IMHO, unless it was shown in the instructions. I purchased both of mine 2nd hand so the instructions were long gone. Hardest parts to find on the sewer is the yellow round valve handle and the "wires" for the computer screen nearly always missing.

@@No1.OriginalTrilogyStarWarsFan I just looked up a pic of the instructions. It is labeled that it’s supposed to do that, but there’s no actual pic of the two locked together. Most kids probably didn’t read the instructions haha.
