I remember my dad taking to this concert it was my first concert and still to this day i remember every song word for word and dance it was awesome and a great memory turtles fan 4 life ❤
Just curious, the scene where the turtles talk with the news anchor, did they play that on like a screen or something? Or was that just something added to the VHS
I’m not ashamed of being 7 and loving this I am ashamed I still loved it at 10 😂 Edit: I am ashamed that I am 39 & I just started singing “follow your heart” with Michelangelo tonight.
I had only heard the rumors until fate finally bestowed me this tape last week. I mean, if there is anything better in the history of Theater than Splinter singing about skipping rocks in a pond, I defy anyone to show it to me. I'm looking at you, Lin Manuel Miranda and William Shakespeare.
@@DrRIPVHS I still have my cassette tape I got from Pizza Hut back in the day but it didn't include Shredders song. I saw the show with my mother as a kid and always wanted to hear it again. "The gift of song is the gift I curse!! I hate music, I said I think it's the worst!!" I'm sorry sir but this is the first time Ive heard this in over 30 years and it's absolutely the most beautiful thing Ive ever heard. I didn't even know a VHS existed. From the bottom of my heart, thank you...
There's a Making Of video too, in which the turtles remain in character for the entire video, which provides strong evidence that these were the real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and not some poseurs in costumes.
You gotta understand how astronomical this was back then, also can we appreciate the wholesomeness of Master Splinter spittin actual words to live by, great stuff :)
@@battra92 I had to review the 3rd movie for a podcast I'm on. I'm just old enough the the whole Turtles fad passed by me by the first go-around. Oof was that movie a doozy.
@@DrRIPVHS I was 100% the target audience for TMNT. I liked the first movie, though I was just a hair too young for some of it (my parents wouldn't let me watch it alone) so I could totally understand why Part 2 went the way it did. The third movie was just wrong. I remember my dad asking if I wanted it on video and I said no thanks. I think they could tell the fad was over.
Tbh the 3rd movie was absolutely trash. 😅 I remember seeing it in the theater and just crying because it was so terrible and the turtles didnt look the same @@battra92
I found my old cassette tape of this in my garage today and had to look it up to see if I could finally watch the actual show. Always wanted to see it rather than just listen. I know all the words! God bless RU-vid
I used to watch this VHS when my mom and dad used to go to town. I had to get babysit by my godfather and teenage Turtles live on VHS is my favorite. Thank you for saving it and you’re the best.
i didnt know about this i was searching for live TMNT ACTS like promo tv and bang you gave me an hour of live satisfaction , so it was this real ..original tracks sound-score specially made for a tour band ... unbelievable for the greatest cartoon show eva
My mom and aunt took my cousin and I to see this live in OKC. I'll never forget it. Probably one of my core memories. I remember Michaelangelo missing the flying pizza and just shrugging it off. I don't remember THIS, but apparently according to my mom and aunt, after Shredder had been instigating and shot the confetti gun, when it was all quiet, i decided it was a great time to announce that i was gonna kick him in the nuts. In their recount, the cast had to take a second and struggled not to laugh. My mom ofc was absolutely mortified 😅
This show has the feeling of a school assembly where a group of performers would come in to sing and dance, or do gymnastics, and then lecture the kids about drugs.
I'd consider it the greatest achievement of my life to be sued by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Funnily enough, I have a "Making of TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze" tape that I can't post because of active copyright, so I guess they do care to a certain extent. :D
I asked Cam Clarke (Leonardo) during a live Instagram video with someone why Rob Paulsen, Townsend Coleman, and Barry Gordon didn't reprise their roles as the voices of Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello, respectively, from the cartoon. He said that one of the producers of the show was a friend of his and when he asked Cam if he would do it, he said yes. However, when he said he would he didn't realize that the other three wouldn't be asked to do it too. I'm guessing that Peter Reneday (Splinter) was friends with one of the producers too and he got to do this show as well.
James D. Rolfe The Nerd himself he’s was the kid he’s love Coming Out of the Their Shells Tour He’s never seen the live tour but He’s had the Cassette Tape and He’s listened to it all the time.
God this brings back memories! I still remember the words, OMG! Gotta hand it to them in those outfits though. Some great work there and they are moving well in them lol.
I barley remember this. My dad took me we went when I was 3 or 4 years old.. I definitely remember them throwing the pizzas in the end and the pizza power song. Wow a memory I can barley remember but I'm glad I could see it again now as an adult ❤
😭😭😭 anything but this, man - I remember watching this on VHS back in ‘02 at 6 years old. At 27 now, I can’t believe how much they thought they devoured this whole set💀💀💀💀
Even though i knew from the start that this was bullcrap, i am kind of triggered that the actors don't act right even though this is all play back they could at least try to look like it's not, i mean they ain't got this fake instruments for nothing Raph should stay behind the drums for every song that doesn't contain a drum Computer (i think this would be very song except for sing about it where you can learly hear that this is a computer) or when Leo and Mike putting their hands in the air right in the intro of pizza power where ya can hear that guitar and bass still are playing, we better not talk about the lip sync fails, but i would like it better when they would have casted people who have just 3 fingers per hand (by accident or something i don't care) and them teach them to play the instruments or maybe some 3 fingered guys who still can play instruments or something but this playback stuff doesn't fell right at all, even tought the songs are fire and i really like them
@@thatoneguy8415 no, i am not i have seen motley crue live this year, and even though it's all playback at least they tried to look like they play there instruments, but this... they are dancing without even touching there instruments, while you hear guitar, bass, and drums
Teenage Mutant "Hero" Turtles was the show my mother completely banned me from seeing as a kid. I think the 'Turtles are violence glorifying and absurd in concept' brigade got to her. But she was fine with me watching Bucky O'Hare instead, which was *far* dumber (and ran an even greater risk of turning me into a Furry in later life!)
Bucky O'Hare was so effortlessly cool tho. I mean.. a space rabbit gunslinger with a cape?! A four armed duck with an eyepatch and a trucker hat?! THAT FREAKIN THEME SONG Don't get me wrong, TMNT was super dope, but Bucky deserved better imo
That's the whole reason why this concert existed. As a ten year old back then, I don't remember who said it was violent, so they traded in their weapons for instruments and then they still end up fighting Shredder on stage, lol.
I saw this at my hometown and was disappointed that they didn't rise up out of the stage at the beginning. The shredder they used was better than this one.
@@DrRIPVHS man I just woke up seen a vanilla ice Interview talked about ninja rap I spent last 3 hours watching TMNT stuff ended up here now watching clips of the final fight with shredder of movie from 2014 downloaded shredders revenge for PS5 and wondering why we don't have a new movie and game THE WORMHOLE OF RU-vid IS WILD
I only saw a tv comercial and always wanted to ssee it. Always thought it looked cool as fuck. Still think it looks cool as fuck, but im not gonna see it lets leave it at that😂
