I remember one of the joke names in the Honest Trailer for Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows was "Dwyane the Raph Johnson"... How was Screen Junkies supposed to know that Playmates would make a Raphael toy where he was Dwyane the Rock Johnson?
is it just me or did the dumbbells look like the weight plates were little sewer lids? seems like something they'd do since they try to incorporate TMNT style/throwbacks in everything. Maybe it's just me though
Dan, i need to ask, do you not get a bit of a bootleg feel from those WWE Turtles figures? I do not mean it in a bad way but the way the plastic looks and the colors, the way it's made just remind me of some of those old Turtles knock offs i used to see back in the day. I actually very much enjoyed seeing them and some of them was more exiting than the real stuff at times. Also that figure does have a bit of a retro color scheme it seems. I'm not sure if "bootleg" is the word I would use, but the plastic used these days is definitely different than the plastic used in the 80's and 90's. I assume it's a cost thing, but yeah...I kind of get what you're saying.
why are they doing another wrestling mashup? what happenes to all the variety of the vintage ones?.... I want to see troll ones again, star trek ones.... and maybe new stuff like star wars. whats up Playmates?
It's really a shame that the plastic for the arms and legs don't fit the same plastic as the torso/head. Also why does he have pupils while the others don't? Ugh.
Yeah I'jm being VERY selective with these....Last wave I picked up Macho Mikey and Raph Sting, this new wave I'll get Rowdy Mikey and Warrior Donnie....also....I really only like OG superstars as far as buying figures......You're right...the Rock doesn't translate well into this line....I love the Rock....but not this version
I agree that this figure is the weakest of the assortment. If they were so dead set on using The Rock, they should have included a $500 shirt, some sunglasses, and given the figure some hair. More like The Rock in 2001, as opposed to the more recent appearances.
