I can confirm that Stallone does care about looks. My dad met him at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills, where they were both shopping for clothes. My dad got a gift certificate worth only $50 dollars so all could afford was just a single shirt. They both ended up in the checkout lanes together. Sly commented to my dad, " why are you buying only one shirt?" My dad being a simple working man, a machinist for McDonnell Douglas, it was all he could afford. Mr. Stallone's assistant was called and he helped my dad get two more shirts and also got measured for two suits, trousers, and a cashmere dinner jacket. He paid for it all and was very kind to my dad. My dad is 84 years old and he still has those clothes and he always goes to see every single Sylvester Stallone movie whenever he can. Great video BTW.
Before the superheroe craze, these guys were the king of action in Hollywood and inspired future action stars.I will always go back to their films because they are unique.
Great interview. Arnie and Sly cannot be compared to anyone. They were the finest of my time. Millions were moved by their movies. Inspiration to the present generation. Real manly heroes.
Honestly, I love them both!!! Sylvester and Arnold are the best two Hollywood action stars of the 80s. They both dominated! They don't need to fight, we needed them both for enjoyment!
Arnie is my personal favorite but both are absolute legends. These two created a whole new breed of action hero and dominated the 80s. I'm so glad I lived through that time as it was happening.
This was such an incredibly heartwarming interview, both of these great men inspired so many of us young girls and boys throughout our lives. Their continued hard work, kindness and just continues to show that you can start from bad upbringings and still be a beautiful hearted person
I always liked Stallone’s characters better, because they were more “human”. But as many have said Schwarzenegger had the humorist touch even as a Robot and this made him also unique. In T2 and T3 you can’t deny he was a human machine.
BOY do I adore both Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger so much! Both men are very successful, iconic, and charismatic Hollywood actors of the 80s and 90s!
Man that was one of the best interviews, I did not know that two had that much competition with each other. Also they're Mount Rushmore answers were perfect absolutely agree. Much love to both of them and to TMZ❤
Love them both! Glad they are close friends ❤ Rocky touched my soul and was an inspiration to me growing up and still does 40 years later. I didn't know until the last 10 years about their childhood, it made me relate to them even more. I had to overcome a lot and put in my mind that I would never live like that again and I would be better and successful...I had a burning desire to overcome just like they said.
Love you both guys. True legends. I saw Arnold in Cardiff, well it’s Newport but but for some reason the Celtic Manor ICC was registered under Cardiff. Anyway it was the Experience with…. Gig. Black tie event the lot high class dinner and booze. Then he came in stage I wasn’t far from him but I was star struck. I didnt know what to say or whether to wave and try to get his attention but at the end of it all, I felt I knew him personally for years, the way he talks to people, the way he is in general. I only saw him in the movies, but to see him in person is definitely a tick off my bucket list 😃. Never saw Sly but never know hopefully one day I will and that would be another tick ✔️. Come to Newport /Cardiff sly. I wanna see you!!!😂
A lot of people were probably wondering why we didn't have an interview with the two of them together before this. Better late than never. This will be the one people reference from now on.
Arnie and Sly have Austrians and Italians roots and their countries share borders, the people have different temperaments. But they actually understand and respect each other better than the common perception of clashing Germanic and Latin cultures and temperaments. I’ve been lucky enough to have Iived and worked in both countries.
Improbable movie stars try impossible movie stars. 😂❤ Honestly if you took every metric of what a movie star is, looks like and acts like these two are the complete opposite 😂❤ Their one key talent that made the impossible possible was the fact they were to stubborn to quit. 😂❤
I know they said martial arts is different but Jackie Chan is on that Mount Rushmore without any question. The other has to be Dwayne Johnson. Not a fan but his movies are action packed and huge.
I kinda agree with both of you guys, if we consider martial arts movies to be in the same genre as action movies, then the mount rushmore of action stars should definitely be composed by Arnie, Sly, Lee, and Jackie. They are more iconic and have a better legacy than all the other ones.
Arnold was infront of my eyes first, and Franco. Being an ex-gym rat, with Joe Weider books. My gym had posters of Arnald, Franco, Frank Zane, Lou Fariggno, Larry Scott, Lee Haney, Viator, Mentzer, and others. All around the gym. I remember Arnald on Johny Carson eating cookies. Sylvester worked very hard. And, he has a wit 2nd to none. My cousen lived & breathef ROCKY. And, he boxed in the ring at a tavern🥊.👍
I gan only partially agree to Arnold's view that a bad upbringing is a blessing & can drive one to become successfull bc...there is some kind of truth in it yet it's 1 of a million that breaks the cycle, others become either as their parents/environment they grew up in &/or become alcoholics, drug addicts or even commit suicide down their way...love & support can make ppl become successfull as well bc they grow up with selfasteem & positive thoughts...allways depends on the individual...but too much love & care can make ppl weak as well or at least gives them a lack of fighter-heart in complicated situations, or they can become distached from the hard reality & aren't able to stand on their own feet later on specifically if they grew up rich & had/got everything they wanted without the need of doing anything for it... I think there should be a certain balance in upraising...love & gifts of course all a kid needs to not get bullied, but to teach them to earn things as well & that life isnt an all-inclusive vacation in a 5* hotel...& to not hide the harsh sides of this world & show them what others have to suffer & go trough & that not allways ppl's own faults to live miserable lifes yet as well that wrong desicions of course lead to unpleasant outcomes
Funniest skit between these two and i still laugh my ass off in that sceen is in arnolds movie the last action hero when he walks in the video store and sly is the terminator sitting on the bike
Both are my fav heroes growing up, and I thank both of them for that, but hands down Arnold is purely the best without a doubt, especially when he was in his prime, no one was even a percentage in comparison with Arnold, I was kinda p*ss*d when Arnie was governor, we lost 10 years of his work, we would have had a better terminator 4, and True Lies 2 etc : (
Slys experience was embodied in Arnolds brother.. So Arnold went through the same thing.. He just just doesn't know it. Edit: I always loved Arnold more than Sly but i think i actually know that at the age i am now that, i think, Sly is the better man, the better actor and the better human. But i still love Arnie.
Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris are My answers for the other Top 2 Action Heroes out of the Top 4 of all time besides these 2. I am typing this b4 I see their answers
Mt Rushmore what is your 4 pick ? Ill give a few options from the 80's-90's (add more if i forgot for sample Clint Eastwood is not in my options cause he is more 70's but if you want to include him in your top 4 its up to you) Chuck Norris Mel Gibson Jean-Claude Van Damme Kurt Russel Steven Segal Harrison Ford Bruce Willis Sylvester Stallone Arnold Schwarzenegger Tom Cruise Nicolas Cage Pierce Brosnan Keanu Reeves
I personally don't blame my dad for the way I was treated, I didn't like it by any means, I was angry at the hell he went through growing up and things he went through in life...I forgave him along time ago when he was alive .....
Arnold and Sky big liers: they were best friends always: this is all BS for hyping sales: wake up: who trained Sly??? Franco! Who was Franco? Arnolds best friend!!! Lmfao!
But Arnold & Sly are different. Arnold is a multiple time winner of bodybuilding championship and Austrian. Sly is Italian and just works out to have had his physique. Arnold movies are 99% action, Sly movies are mixed. I understand the comparison. I get it. But they're very different. That's like comparing Elvis & Michael. Similar but very different.
Sylvester... If someone had to support you in everything, then you wouldn't have had the zeal to do what you did because there wouldn't have been a need for you to do something different...
Mount Rushmore of Action Stars Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone Clint Eastwood Charles Bronson For Martial Arts Action Stars Bruce Lee Steven Seagal Jean-Claude Van Damme Chuck Norris
Stop or my mom will shout was a GREAT movie . . . One of his best Hogan did Mr Nanny Diesel did the Pacifier Compare to those Sylvester got the best movie and performance And btw Arnold did kindergarten cop None of these were bad
2 of the best action 🎬 movie legend icons of the 90s and all time ⏲️ Arnold Sly that did it all on the big screen it was compilation between both who was better there's no one out there compared to Sly and Arnold RockyTeriminator RamboPredator
i have to go with sly on this one about the up bringing, you know i get what arnold says to but ratio wise its not the results that are typical, the people who build greatness out of a shit child hood are an exception to the rule, thats not to say it doesnt create toughness but toughness does not translate to greatness though it can help. But even Terr Cruz talks about how he would stare out the window saying to himself 'im going to escape this life' but how many of his siblings said the same thing/ you might have a family of 12 kids in a terrible childhood, and if they are lucky you might get 1 Arnold or Sly, but the rest will become drug addicts, street thugs, criminals because they donty have the capacity to dream of what might be out there because their world view is limited to the street corbor because thats their world and the height of that world is to be the pimp or the dealer, or the king pin that dressed nice, has the nice car, has the people bowing down to them. They dont think thats there is a world out there beyond that street and the few dreamers that are there dont get to escape because that life takes them too, and their escape is drugs and alcohol.
