One of my favorite memories is when I got to meet you in San Antonio. I was a senior in high school and your Storms of Life album had just come out. What a thrill! You are True country, Mr. Travis. You ARE the GOAT! God Bless you.
I have been looking for this for years and years. You have no idea how much this means to me. I first saw this with my dad. We had it taped and I wore the tape out. My dad has passed on but I feel him next to me right now. This was my childhood!

Damn, every one of these songs are hits. Not too many people can say that about an album. He is one of the best in an era that was needing someone to fill the shoes of the legends before him. He, Dwight, Alan, Steve Earle got the industry going back in the right direction.
@ JJ, So true, he didn't know it either. Just watched an Opry special, where they were honoring Randy's being a member for 35 yrs. Hard to believe it has been that long ago when he first came on the scene. But in regard to his becoming one of the biggest stars of Country music WB's A&R head ( Lacy) showed a huge picture with some of Randy's biggest selling albums across the bottom. And on the piece, they had written in bold black script 1.6 BILLION times a Randy song had been listened to. Absolutely stunning statistics.
Your songs tell a story of the struggles of life. Most people will not own up to but your a strong man who faces it head on and not afraid to do so my respect and admiration belong to you. I am proud of you. Always your fan and friend.
Visited the Nashville Palace, the place of Randy Travis work before he came famous in country music. Plus met him on a uk tour. Love his work and music.
He was one my favorites! His voice...mmm..too bad that he didn’t have any kids...a man like that needed to pass his gift on down...but life is what it is...
Come on people!! Get ur cell phone out and get a selfie. Oh, sorry. This was 1986. I would have loved to have seen Mr. Travis in person. Thanks for posting this
I have his book too, not at all surprised by some of the revelations. I agree everyone should read it. They just might come to understand why his life spiraled out of control there for a brief period. I think we all would be hard-pressed to not find ourselves in some state of unraveling in similar circumstances.
Randy Baby, I've been watching your facial expressions, they tell me that you're angry with certain ones --- like you don't want to be up there. You were soo cute back then!!
