TNN Winners - Neil Bonnett 1/4

Hosted by Dale Earnhardt, Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip, Neil Bonnett's Winners profiles the driving career of Neil himself
It mentions in the video that this the final part of a two part episode, unfortunately I do not have part one.
Apologies for the tape quality (it "rolls" in spots) but overall I thought the quality was good enough to share

I miss these days of NASCAR. Back in those days it was hard to dislike any of the drivers.

Translation: "Man, I have been watching NASCAR since I was a little kid, 4 years old. I went to my first race at Charlotte and I have never seen this. Thanks for posting! Also, I'm a lifelong Earnhardt fan, of coarse a diehard Earnhardt Jr. fan now. 88 always!"

I hate CNN boys get killed or hurt but the day you take the danger out of NASCAR and take any Talent out of it or any fear of death am I cute or any pump dish back and drive you get what the f*** we had yesterday at Talladega which looks like a bunch of damn bumper cars and NASCAR second one guy's dick and let me pass two cars under the yellow line another one getting disqualified that's why you're damn Sports falling on his face that's supposed to be the biggest fattest track and it looks like a bunch of goddamn clowns out there yesterday

@@Benjimac379 Nascar has become a joke .I certainly don't Wana see anyone get hurt but danger is what separates the men with balls as big as bowling balls an the deusche bag panty waste mom's boys who have no talent but dady bought them a ride.naacqr has become nothing more than a joke an when the new common engine rule goes in its goina finish Nascar off.honestly in next 5 years I see Nascar becoming sports entertainment like wresting an they will pick who wins an who the champion will be which in all reality they do anyways.

Lol so hilarious! :54 Dale: "What in the world does Darrell Waltrip know about hunting and fishing? And the Alabama Gang? I've had about all of this I can take!"..... 4:37 "Where'd he come from? Wait a minute, Waltrip, you're outta here!"

That was hilarious! Can you imagine what he would say nowadays about DW finally retiring for good from the booth? I know plenty of fans have said this before but if Earnhardt was still alive today and Fox Sports hired him after whenever he did retire to call races with Darrell, Joy, Larry Mac and now Gordon, the ratings would be through the roof right now. Jaws and Earnhardt bickering in the booth would been TV Gold and Nascar would never be in the decline it sadly is now.

I caught the tail end of the golden age of nascar as a kid from 95- 2008 I am so jealous of the people who got to go to the races from the mid 80s - mid 90s and be apart of this great sport before it started to dive. I still love this sport and go to at least 2-3 races per year but man watching these old videos makes me miss the good old days and simpler times

I went to several races at Bristol, Indy and Talladega in the early 90's. Usually take off work and be there a couple days before race day. Also went to some Saturday "Busch" races along with the IROC series events. Talladega was always my favorite track with the great atmosphere. Those folks know how to party ! 🥳 The highlight was watching Outlaws driver Steve Kinser win an IROC race there. Being a Hoosier guy, I knew all about him. Most people in the bleachers didn't even know what we were cheering so loud for. What a thrill ! Sadly, I haven't been back to a race since the Brickyard in '98. A lot has changed for the worst. 😒

@EricEbac22 At the closing creditson my tape there is a brief mention that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Head Injury foundation, otehr than that, this episode was made before Neil died, so there was no mention. I have the tribute Winners that aired on the weekend he died, I really want to get it on RU-vid but have had difficulty posting it

I don't care what anybody says Neil Bonnett stats may not look that good but he is a Hall of Fame driver I don't think championships and wins justify the fine being in the Hall of Fame. I think running up front and how good you run should have a lot to do with it I seen your Bonnet run up front so many races the he should have won or had a good shot at winning and seen him town the wall time and time again when something broke or tire blow I seen him waiting the spring Bristol race it had to be 1986 but I'm not sure I know he's in the Budweiser car of the year it was red and I'm almost positive it was 86 and he was leading probably * 75 laps or nobody was even coming close to him and he went down into turn one and I've never seen nobody hit the wall so hard in my life and he had a hung throttle. He had so many violent crashes that would have knocked probably 75% of drivers would have never raced again and he's out here next week he never was scared to get back in one of them things and unfortunately that's what got him killed and as bad as I hate he's gone I think if you could talk to him right now or before happen he would tell you that's no better way for him to go because he was miserable not being able to race. He is somebody that's a sport really lost when you did did I he died because he had been injured really for seven years before that and have been several years before he got killed but he had had a whole season he was healthy he just brought so much star sport he should definitely be in the Hall of Fame
