This tournament was amazing to watch from start to finish. Glad to see a lot of older contenders making a return. Clearly they haven't brushed up on their skills though. Dual Kevin is my favorite returning player just off of how hype & entertaining his matches were in the past. For real though this tournament was hype enough to remind me of old UMVC3 entertainment. Definitely gotta rewatch.
That was great having the 2014 EVO CHAMP commentating! And didn't LiberalTerminator make a video on how to defend the swing wire air grapple mixup? I'm guessing Justin hasn't seen it.
This game gives me epileptic seizures bro….like I wanna get into it and understand it but I can’t even understand wtf is happening on screen. And for the fact that basically everyone has a T.O.D makes this game extremely daunting.
You hit footdive You decide to take a break for a bit You go get lunch Its a good lunch You spend the rest of the day out around town, taking care of things that needed to be done Days have past, you havent come back to marvel Weeks turn into months turn into years. You've started growing old You notice your first grey hair You dont know where the time went, but you have grandchildren now Its been decades Time goes on, but you do not Centuries pass Empires rise and fall You've lived to see all of it You've experienced everything there is to do You go back to that long forgotten game of Marvel You still have time to confirm off footdive
Not only the whole tourney was fire, not only the grand final was epic, not only the final words from Escalante and Tong were emotional, but Proxy and Jwong did awesome on the mic, with really nice chemistry and great insight with the game.
@@IceTheEmperor -In ways of overused and usually guaranteed win, I would agree. But as far as her general moveset or her as a character. Upon first playing the game, she was the chick I liked the most in the game. She’s one of my favorite characters in the game and upon seeing Chris G first spam Soul Fist back in the day, I was definitely all for cheering Chris Gesus on hoping he would win an Evo with Morrigan. Since though, yeah even though I like Doom, Zero, Vergil, & Magneto. I greatly wish to see people dominate with other characters more. Like another Haggar player who spring up outta nowhere, dominate, then all of a sudden a million copycats appear. I do respect Ryan LV and Justin Wong for showing perceived mid to low tier characters can be badass in the right skillful hands.
sick how livinglegend snapped in pheonix twice with and disengaged with grenade that same set up. i wish i had the wherewithal to do that. i just hope i can land a full combo lol
Hey man I don't like the shell either but everyone was playing hot and he managed to take it. Hard to hate on that. Will say though, those hidden missiles were doing a lot of lifting. So many opportunities denied.
Yeah that’s true but this is the game we play. Plus he really deserved it at the end with those mixups and that Doom comeback. Mundank couldn’t block any of it
he demobilizes opponent by spamming missiles and chip damage. Then he'll bring out magneto or doom when there's enough chip damage because that's when he feels safe to fight with confidence. Once he finds that he's losing he'll bring out morrigan.
I've heard nova call Spencer way to many times bro 😭 I know they are top tier but oh my god at this point I feel like if I play them I would probably know what to do 🤷
Morrigan is a character created in umvc3 for noobs to have a chance to win, but if used by seasoned players, it's very difficult to avoid those missiles.
A win is a win but we ALL know that Borrigan is a security blanket in case things don't turn out well. It's like having a knife fight but just in case your bleeding to death you take out a rifle.
@@calmante4420 morrigan played by a pro is almost impossible to beat. Her missiles along with Doom's missiles, the opponent is always running away looking for that opportunity that's very hard to capitalize on. I have no doubt that Escalante would lose without morrigan. His tactic is hit and run through chip damage. He's very good with Doom and Magneto but morrigan adds that difficulty to the opponent that much more to have that edge. Just look at the second game of the first round. All he does is spam soul drain and doom's missile while magneto is running around trying to avoid it all and try to catch her. It's so much easier to run away and shoot missiles. It's definitely like bringing a gun to a knife fight. What's more impressive than the win by Escalante is that Mundank is able to catch her at times to take it game 5 in the second round.
@@muCephei_ or is it maybe because mundank was unable to counter her properly? magneto has the tools to pierce through her zoning and outrun missiles, perhaps it was due to his opponent not being prepared, not because he had a top tier
@@calmante4420 are you saying mundank was not prepared to go against morrigan knowing escalante climbed his way to the top? YES, he couldn't counter her "properly" because it's just that hard. It has nothing to do with preparation. He's been going up against escalante for the longest time on tns. I chuckle at terminology's like zoning at times because when you overuse this strategy it becomes lame since you're counting on being cheap to get ahead. Just call it as what it is. The commenters use that word to make seem like a viable strategy to win. It's like bringing a double ammo bazooka to a gun fight and calling it zoning. The opponent is running around like mad dodging all the missiles looking for that small window of opportunity to hit the guy equipped with bazooka. Meanwhile the blast effect is slowly damaging the guy with the rifle. The odds of success is like 80-20... more like 90 - 10
