Great introduction to a controversial topic! I really look forward to future episodes where you share some more insights into your deep dive into the future of writing.
Thank you! It is indeed a fascinating and very controversial topic. Writers have strong feelings about AI collaboration, and understandably so. My goal with this channel is to create a meaningful and useful conversation and debate on the subject. Thanks for the feedback.
Insightful. My opinion- if the writing is purely end-product driven, then AI augmentation would be helpful. But, if the value of writing for you is ALSO the process which it takes you through, the VIP room your muse opens for you , in which you get to spend precious time with him/her/it/the gods, a deeply-personal and rarefied space…then that is a room for which I believe we should keep AI waiting at the door. After all, who is the writer of AI itself? Are they good people? What is their intention? Guess that makes me a purist. :)
My experience so far is that the 'process' which one goes through as a writer is not necessarily eliminated in a writer-AI collaboration process. In an augmentation relationship the AI does not, as an inevitability, replace your process and the time spent with your "muse/the gods". It makes a contribution to it. As I put it: Me, my Muse, and my AI. The pertinent question, I think is: Do you wish to make an AI a contributor to your writing process? Is three company, or a crowd?
