coming back home to the UK next week, i'll be dropping down to Augusto then across towards Gdansk pick up the 22 road and avoid the road works, Warsaw and the tolls. Its larger in miles but I have found it shorter in time

Not a silly question at all! Yes they generally bulk out before you hit the max weight. PA and the rigging are the only trucks really which may get close to the maximum weights
