Yes! I worked in some classy {don't call us a department store, stores}. I learned that rich women do not feel the need to look different everyday. They buy mostly solids good quality fabric and wear them over and over again. Same with their hair - basically the same style always. And they are super-confident!
And if a piece of clothing is not showy-flashy, you notice repeats less. A brightly colored jacket in a loud pattern vs a jacket in a neutral color - you get the, "oh, _that_ AGAIN?!' a lot sooner.
I’d be super confident if I were rich too! Not because I am shallow, but because of the confidence that I’m not one paycheck away from being homeless and all of my bills are paid with no bill collector’s calling me! 🤣🤣🤣
Social media not being in my life is such a blesssing. I wish someone would try to make me feel bad about outfit repeating. I’m grown and blessed to have a washing machine. Y’all gone see these jeans.
Saaaaame!!!! Getting off of social media was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! No pressure, no stress, no worrying about wearing outfits for the validation of others. It’s freeing & so peaceful. ✨
I once had someone asked me how many pair of black jeans I owned…J was like one?… and they asked well you wear them like 3x a week… and I was like yeah… it’s called a washing machine?? Lol. She either thought I was using the same pair without washing? Or I had 3 pairs. Didn’t think that it may just be 1 pair and I wash it? Lol
I have clothing I purchased 20 years ago and I still receive compliments on the cut and style. Purchase timeless pieces of great quality and materials. Then maintain them.
"Be less of a consumer" "don't buy into fast fashion" but also "outfit repeating? I could never 😂" Don't listen to the internet, you guys, live your life.
I 100% AGREE!!!! I have a capsule wardrobe and mix/match favorites in essentially a 2wk rotation for work, and weekend rotation for “going out” that varies seasonally
Yes ma’am I love your message!!! And you are beautiful! Thank you for being real cause you’re right. Outfit repeating is literally normal. That’s what washing machines are made for, so we can repeat 🙏🏾🙏🏾 start fresh if you will lol. Thanks again 🔥🔥🔥
If I put an outfit together and I feel so good in it that I feel like I’m the most powerful and confident woman to grace this earth you best BELIEVE I’m repeating that outfit until I can’t wear it no more! 💁♀️
Back in the day it’s called mixing & matching! 😂😅 No reason to buy new things all the time if you just look in your closet and coordinate what you got already! Accessories is they key to making your outfits look new & fresh ( necklace, earrings, belts, layering outfits ect ). 😊🔥❤️
That's Right! You paid your hard earned money for each piece in your closet, and drawers wear'em things. Enjoy and feel the excitement as you felt the first time you bought and wore them. No need to compete with any one or above yourself. It is all about You to make You ecstaticly HAPPY with what you have and with Whom you are! Love what you express. ❤
I honestly just wear like 4-5 items and interchange them until there’s literal holes. I don’t see any point in feeling like you can’t repeat outfits as long as they look good. If I’m feeling like I want to do something new, I will. Otherwise my fav pants and top are being worn 3/7 times of the week
Yep!!! It’s been said. And it’s not because I don’t have a closet full of clothes. I will wear what makes me feel good over & over again while minding my business.
I just discovered your channel. Thank you so much for encouraging wearing repeat outfits! Too many influencers are being impractical to the point of ridiculousness!
You look absolutely gorgeous! ❤ And I completely agree: there’s no need to run after the hottest trends, if you have a few pieces in your wardrobe that are your favourite. 🙂
I have clothes that are over 10 years old and every time I wore them people think they are new. The keys are to buy pieces you can wear different way, keep your clothes well keep, and never wear a outfit the same way.
You can wear an outfit the same way just fine, as long as you're not repeating it every day, people won't even notice it's the same. And even if they do, what's wrong with that? From an European perspective, the whole "outfit repeating" thing is wild. I doubt many people here buy clothes to only wear once, or make sure to style them differently every single time. What matters is how you look in it, not whether you already used it two years ago.
Yes sis you are absolutely correct. If I bought it, I’m gonna wear it until I get my fill of it. I’m a grown ass woman and I don’t allow social media or anyone else to dictate. my dos or don’t. So sad that many people allow themselves to be controlled by something or someone that doesn’t even matter. Keep doing you boo
Thank you for saying this! I am the queen of wearing the same outfitt in a few different ways! Repeat and repeat again. IDGAF what anybody got to say about it either because I always look good😂
And that’s why I buy quality pieces that can withstand time. I’ve given away soooooo much stuff. I’m starting over with my wardrobe because like you, I wear things until the fall apart.
That’s just normal, honestly. The average person cannot afford to not repeat even if they thrift or shop on consignment. And it’s also just unreasonable to buy clothing for one time use; waste of bread for anyone in any tax bracket. But normalcy has become othered in the pseudo lux world of the average citizen - what a time to be alive.
I love that look. Dang! Looks so good. I actually have only ever bought 2 pairs of pants myself. All my clothes come from family members and friends. Lol. Love repeat outfits. ❤❤❤
This is such a weird thing to have to say.😂 Cus everyday people wear the same shit over and over. I will say that there were people in middle school/high school who judged you if you wore the same shirt the next week. I remember this one dude said to this girl, “it’s called a washer and dryer.” Her mom was always buying her the latest outfits from Hollister/Abercrombie.
I don't see why people need to feel ashamed for repeating clothes when it is actually THEIR clothes. Matter of fact, I repeat clothes and snap pictures each time I repeat and post on SM😂. No fake life here.
I bought a sweater dress back in from Lord and Taylor in 1983. Its sooo warm and graphic. My sons wife complimented me on it last year. I love it when your clothes start paying you back in cost per wear!
This outfit is great example of well bought wardrobe staples. Great fitting jeans and a nice white shirt can take you most places, just accessorised differently. She looks great and the jeans really suit her shape.
Thanks so much for the message girl. Even though it’s your job to sell, you’re speaking honesty to people who have been led to believe that wearing your clothes more than once is a fashion crime. This world is full of waste not just physically but every little brain is also full of trash that we certainly don’t need. Simplicity and being humble just like you and your outfit here is truly the key to being confident and happy. Worrying about your clothes all the time takes away time you could be spending on important issues that will truly impact your life like trying to get rich and being economically stable, learning new skills and so on.
I have been doing this for months now. My closet is easier to physically navigate through & getting dressed is so much faster. Knowing all the pieces you own fit you how you want is the best. Just buy pieces that mix & match well, and you’re truly good to go!
Gee I am an ole lady, I have pieces in my closet that I brought from over seas with me, I bought them 27 years ago and they are still in mint condition, and do still love and wear them. It is also the way you wash, and care for your garments that is the KEY to still have older clothes that look super awesome every time you put them on.❤
I'm 60. I still wear garments from when I was 16. And I don't have an extensive wardrobe (which surprises most, but they are all great quality). I joke that I dont have that many clothes but I got'a lof of style😂
I literally wear the same things constantly lol. I even posted two pics back to back, different days with the same shirt because it's one of my favorites
I alternate the same shit every week/2weeks 😂 My employees definitely know my whole wardrobe. Im going to work, ill buy cute new shit for a day out, not work lol.
