Wanna know why it sounds epic? It sounds like Luffy's "Gomu-Gomu no..." before his devastating attacks. The feeling that something ominous will occur in the next moments after certain words are said. That's what made it awesome.
The coolest part is knowing that she can launch any metal object as a super powerful bullet. She could probably use an entire building if it didn’t make so much damage
@say hello to be fair, most of her limits are self imposed. If she were to fight without regard for everyone else, you would be surprised with how extra she can be.
I know Misaka was a total powerhouse during this fight, but I just want to appreciate how Kiyama was ready to throw hands even though she wasn't an actual Esper Like, Telestina kicked her ass several times and she would get back up every time, Captain America style
She basically made the same mistakes the "Anti-Spirals" in Gurren Lagann did. Never underestimate a human being's capacity to change. By that, I mean records, data and even history mean nothing.

The point was that during this scene, Misaka was being underestimated because her opponent assumed that she knew everything about her, but never took certain things into consideration like Misaka being able to adapt her ability in different ways or being able to combo with another esper to enhance her abilities further. Granted, it should've been obvious here that Misaka should be able to increase the strength of her railgun by punching the object instead of flicking it with her thumb, but still. The point was that data is basically meaningless since it can become obsolete or outdated at any moment due to humans having the capacity to surpass their limits.
@@xinf3ctdx but it did surprise her cause thier data log dint say she can't throw anything but coin so they know her effective range by coin only what I said is the pool wasn't even a good use to properly test her skills since she would still held back cause if she asked for a larger material to throw during test days she would probably destroy the entire pool

3:10 is true, however... once a proyectile is launched by a railgun it shouldn't be possible to increase its momentum or speed (talking about 5:23) so that beam crash sort of thing is kinda bull. Either Misaka's coin goes through Telestina's cannon or they clash and nullify each other (because remember, the orange line is a visual aid, not quite how a railgun would like if it ever gets weaponized.). So... yeah the fights are the perfect mix of actual scienze and an awesome inaccurate detail.
@@juanmarailgun7783 Misaka's ability being called a railgun is, in my opinion, a misnomer anyway, there aren't any rails to generate Lorentz force on the coin - whats probably actually happening is that the coin is being atomized and shot forward more like a Particle Projection Cannon, and the Railgun moniker is just an oversimplified name to imply the ability. As for the collision of the beams, if they both work more like PPC than an actual railgun (the artificial one certainly isn't designed correctly to be one in its physical shape) then those beams are streams of ionized particles that would indeed "collide" - though that isn't exactly the right term - just like the particle beams in colliders like the LHC, i mean collide is in the name of those devices after all. - we'll have to ignore the resulting high energy radiation that results from that though.
Well, it's her "full strength" under the CURRENT circumstances, i.e. with the largest object that she could get her hands on within a reasonable amount of time before her enemy gets TOO CLOSE.

Seriously. I can't believe how much better Railgun is. I just finished the first season, but it's like night and day already. The storytelling is better, the fight choreography is better, the plot is less random complicated nonsense, the characters are all so much more interesting and likeable. Index started out alright, but Toma never changed or developed at all. The plot got more complicated than it needed to be, but most of the little arcs all felt like filler anyway.. Every episode ended up going like "Jump to a point in the plot and explain what happened to get the characters here" instead of just showing us the stuff happening. And then the whole show, Misaka never got to do anything. Railgun is so good, and I'm happy to hear that it doesn't lose itself like Index did.
@@xinf3ctdx I mean for a light novel perspective, the books only got better. Of fact Index III was supposed to the best out of all current seasons but really got screwed over. And I would say the plot for Index is better than Railgun
For someone who researched Misaka so comprehensively, Telestina sure didn't understand Misaka's true power! She didn't expect Misaka to be able to railgun more things than mere coins. She also clearly miscalculated the power of Misaka's railgun. One coin was clearly more powerful than her imitation railgun, in spite of her claimes.

This is why it's dangerous to read scientific reports without the necessary context. She'd seen Misaka's "specs" somewhere and probably saw "range: x meters" and just assumed that was an absolute, whereas someone familiar with the railgun ability knew the other constants at play (the rate of ablation of the coin, as you mentioned). The author of the report likely didn't feel the need to specify since the coin was just used as a constant (to isolate the variables) so anyone actually looking at extrapolating Misaka's power level could just use the range she achieved and calculate the power output. It does a great job of showing that Telestina is a bad scientist and just has access to more resources than others.
@@shairafathiya4163 Sure, but a magnet that's weak enough to allow the coin to flip up into the air away from her, but is also somehow strong enough to keep it from getting pulled away from her due to the car moving at 100mph? That's a little less believable, unless she's manipulating the coin the entire time when it's flipping up and back down, but why do that if she could just keep it suspended where she needs it the whole time?
@@xinf3ctdx The purpose of flipping the coin is to get it out of her inaccurate human hands so she can grab it with her electromancy and pull it directly into place with super accuracy where it needs to be, without burning her own hands off.
You after reading the novels and watching this scene again I realized that Therestina is using some kind of prototype FIVE_OVER Railgun here.... that's crazy O.O
its basically a carbon copy of misakas coin railgun that she can make it stronger but due to the force the coin wont travel as far thats why she limits the power output with the coin but we see her go all out with larger projectiles (misaka herself already said the schools pool isint enough to really gauge her powers considering if she fire a larger object on the pool shes drain the pool cause she would leave a giant hole on the pool lmao)
i still question how telestina came out of that mech in tact where clearly thay railgun shudda vaporized her (if its her armor it should have been destroyed but her armor was fine when the fought without the mech lol)
That's a blatant lie. Misaka is actually stubborn and would avoid getting help from others. Whereas in one episode of Index, literally millions of people teamed up to fight against a common threat.
Nah in index also has teamwork and sometimes famdom calls it a kamijou faction, starting with touma style and tsuchimikado in index 2, the faction created by tsuchimikado that accelerator entered index 2, amakusa vs accqua in index 3, touma misaka accelerator and hamazura in the novel, all level 5 espers fighting together and so on
And what about the index movie where magic and science took part: touma, index, tsuchimikado, style, misaka, clones misaka, accelerator, last order, judgment and ant-skill working together for a greater good. That's the premise of toaru: when science and magic intersect, the story begins.
also did telestina really read misakas data cause if she did she probably would know that shes gradually getting stronger and the coin just vaporize if she goes all out but if she use something larger to throw it more destructive
Maybe she just never used larger objects in her system tests. I mean the tests seem to be just as much about control as they are about raw power if not more so.
For a poor conductive coin at least. Even then it seems quite low for how powerful she's meant to be Unless if she shoots it any faster it will just desintergrated in her hand or something.
Meanwhile Accelerator kicks a pebble at a way greater speed than that to hold back Kakine's Dark Matter. Its too fast to the point that it was the sheer momentum that hit it because the pebble is already pulverize
Andy Torres well, if we follow rules on Index universe, Misaka is the 3rd strongest esper, while the other two already decided and she being the strongest electromaster, so it's an automatic win for her. Maybe you could enlighten me about infamous universe?
there's one problem thou I dunno if anyone pick up on this but Misaka is totally immune to electric shocks (so if the enemy can't neutralize her railgun they are screwed) and if they only use electricity ....... in one ep someone tried to taze her but nothing happened ...... Misaki can't control Misaka cause of the electric barrier she has that interfere with electric shits..... (similar to gaaras sand wall)
kennungsera 117 well given her track record she did went from lv1 to lv5 in that time and her being in third rank may be justified but she is able to railgun not just coins shes shown to have been able to railgun larger objects and they can travel farther before burning out....... anyway if they continue this anime we might see if she gets any stronger
@@scarletrose8766 Given her power is electromagnetism. One of the Fundementally forces of the universe there are a lot more things she can technically do that her power covers. Aka causing nuclear fusion by forcing atoms together or cancelling their electrostatic repulsion. Or if you've seen the second season. She may very well be able to connect herself to the misaka network to gain the processing of 10000 clones. Or just flat out get stronger. I mean later in the manga we see her powers run out of control forcing her to progress towards level 6 extremely rapidly which could have killed her hadn't it been stopped. She seemingly acended to a form above humanity. Like what accelerator is doing in index season 3. What's more we still haven't seen anywhere near her full power what with her always holding back against people as she doesn't want to kill them.
There's that and a couple of things that I found even weirder. Misaka flips a coin into the air while standing on the hood of a speeding car and it doesn't just get immediately pulled back away from her. And then she jumps off of the hood of the car and is still moving at the same speed and in the same direction of the car, since it didn't just immediately zip away and leave her behind, even after the robot arm makes contact with her and until she destroys it.
Considering that she makes her railgun's rails out of electricity, I'd guess that she just made more rails and relaunched it mid-collision, more or less.
Just how the fuck could a railguns projectile be limited to a range of 50 meters? It might move so incredibly fast that the friction could heat it up and disintegrate the projectile in seconds but in those seconds it would have already moved miles as the usual projectile-speed is roughly 20 km/s (14ish miles each second). Even if you take into account that a coin would melt faster and face more air resistance due to not being aerodynamic it would still have moved at least 2 miles in the splitsecond it needs to disintegrate. 50 friggin meters... And it even seems like they knew that. Against AIR Burst the coin pierces the entire body, carries it's massive weak point at least 100 meters into the air and it still has enough power to then shatter the object and keep on flying. AIR Burst fight = multiple 100 meters with massive resistance / Telestina fight = 50 meters with 0 resistance.
I see you have a good set of logic by your side. I could counter your arguments with a little logic myself, but you see... This is anime. I'm not saying that it's supposed to absolutely make no sense but this is how Anime Logic goes: AIM Burst fight meant to show that Misaka > AIM Burst. She was meant to own her adversary with a few "good words." That was the goal. How it was accomplished or animated or whatever (i.e. you said the crystal flew 100 meters) is irrelevant. You could just think it exploded inside the monster and the point of the fight will be the same. This fight, on the other hand, simply showed that her opponent has "analysis" and "data" over her powers. It could be 50, could be 500, point is, her opponent KNEW this. And that was what was emphasized since the whole point of this fight was to show that people aren't bound by scores/data/past mistakes/records. ... That is what "Screw Logic, It's Anime" means. It doesn't say. "Anime HAS no Logic", "Anime NEEDS NO Logic". It just doesn't need too much thought to make a point. I hope I helped. :) Now I'm interested in real Railguns with your comment. :3

@@marilou3388 Both!, first watch the visual novel and then read the manga. Some episodes are a little bit difficult to understand, but the manga does a great job making the story simpler and at explaning those details that sometime you may not notices. So if you have the time, try to do both :)
I love Toaru Kagaku no Railgun's interpretation of Misaka but I absolutely hate Index's interpretation of her. Funny, how I like the side work much more than the original. Mainly due to the protagonist in Index annoys me.
"Funny how I like side work more... ". Well it's not funny because said main work has a mediocre adaptation which ruined most of the good things it has to offer. Which means you are missing out on more than half the enjoyment and finding it funny. Even funnier when you realise it's the supreme success of the novels of the original work that led to Railgun existing in the first place. You are behaving as if main story and side story has different authors. Which protagonist? There are 3 protagonists in Index. And each of them are vastly superior in terms of writing and character depth compared to Misaka. Index interpretation of her? It's the main series, and it gives more insight to her character than in this spin-off where she's stubborn, naive and mostly takes on weak opponents to show off some pseudo badassery. In Index, she has greater feats too. She also helped Touma against Hound Dogs and saved him from getting nuked. She fought an army of tanks, and later, a saint. Here she's a protagonist, so ofc things will be arranged to make her feel "central". And she's not even the best character in her own series with Kuroko, Misaki and Kongou around.
