She’s probably one of the best composers in rock music. From what I can tell, a LOT of her music sounds experimental and doesn’t fit the standard song structure, which is really cool. I also have to mention Alain Johannes. Also another monster songwriter.
So many memories, when they were so many new and amazing bands around... PJ of course, Pavement, Sebadoh, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Noir Désir, Jeff Buckley, Nick Cave, Dead Can Dance, Foo Fighters, Veruca Salt, Lush...
This is an invocation. Such a total sound. Listening to blues music in the 1920s late at night in front of a fire must have been something like this in effect.
I remember the first time I saw her in Valencia (Spain) presenting To Bring you my love album in 1.995, I have seen last time in 2017 in Barcelona, it was a very different concert, she has mature in the best way, and it was so intense that in 1.995. She is out of this world for me...pure art music.
I saw her on this tour in Portugal...But her mood was much darker I don't remember her introducing the musicians to the audience by the way I don't even remember her speaking to the audience. Badass concert though
@@chopperbernie1 Stoner rock has been around for decades. Its just that its only become popular in the past decade. Kyuss, for example, has been around as long as she has. Im not even saying this because I prefer Kyuss. I dont, I like PJ more :).
I’ve watched this song performed from so many different shows, and I am moved to tears each time. The only other song that so powerfully evokes this much emotion is Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”, a song also about rejected love. Like him she is a genius at putting emotions to music.
Damn I love this song. This is my favorite live performance version I've seen on YT, and so awesome it's from 2016. Love her and love this crowd in Paris.
Thank you very much for posting these videos. She seems well, happy and enjoying herself, which is good - not that there's any reason why she shouldn't be!
Love how she shows the insanity of giving up everything- her life, 'I slept with the dev- il, cursed God above' 'climbed over mountains, ....' to bring you my love'. Like she's displaying 'what was I thinking?!' Obviously the love was unrequited
Holy shit, this is amazing! Of course, this version is different from the studio version, but it has an even more spooky atmosphere. I have to admit that I don't like all her stuff, but 'To bring you my love' is one of the greatest albums ever. I guess I would sacrifice my firstborn to see her live...
The Godess of 🎸... PJ is born in 1969. like me... And i will love her till the end of time... 🕉️🌈🦄... The Band is amazing so much Talent on one stage... LOVE Marc 🌹
There was some amazing female singers around the same time she was getting popular and honestly to many to list. Yet she was different from all of them and I'm damn happy for it
