I truly loved this book . Chris really captured how pure of a spirit Selena was & I'm glad he went back in time to really dissect those moments he shared with her . Nothing about this book was selfish or one sided . He truly loved & appreciated Selena for who she was & for what she did for him to become a better man . Wonderful read !

Y'all kill me! Calling him a money grubbing loser! Let's get one thing right, okay? He loved Selena. Yeah, I get it. Selena was like family to us, too, but he's more family to her than we are. Selena is proud of this book, because he wrote it out of love. And, on top of that, I notice all the comments saying he should "shut up about her". What about all the comments on his social media asking about her? He posts a picture of his daughter, people ask, "CHRIS DO YOU STILL MISS SELENA? DO YOU STILL LOVE HER?", and whenever family pics are posted from after Selena passed, people talk about how there's "always one missing". I get it, we still feel sorrow, but if WE still feel bad, how do you think her family, the people who knew her even better than we do, feel? If people are gonna keep asking them about Selena, why are they "gold diggers" when they give you what you've been asking for? And, don't even start with how he "doesn't deserve her name". Apparently, Selena felt differently. She married him and added his name to hers. Essentially, Selena Quintanilla felt she deserved to be bound to him forever, and by what? HER DAMN NAME! Just shut up and enjoy the book.
I don't know why if they don't have anything positive to say why they don't stay off videos like these it's getting really old... I still haven't read the book but I would love too... please let the man live....
This book was truly Amazing. I've read about 200 times and still read it. For all those people who say he was only in it for the money, get a life and shutup. This man lost the one women he loved the most and had a every right to right a book about is love and memories, not to mention the thousands and thousands of fans who asked him to. I respect this man everyday because he continued to live life and pursue his dreams. U go chris, half these people wouldn't event know what true love is and will probably never find there one true love
If you get the book, you can see she was very childlike and there is no problem with that. She'll actually make you laugh at various things when you read the book
Deyna's vidGaming this is so true I found myself (despite the sad fact that she is no longer here with us alive on earth) laughing at said events that had happened in the book but once I got to the ending of the book where it talked about how she died and the pain and misery that poor Mr. Chris Perez had to endure mourning her passing (just like every time I've seen the movie when it gets to the part about how she died) I just couldn't stop crying and the more I cried the more my eyes had burned from all the crying and all the crying and depressing feelings I was having made it increasingly hard to finish the book) but I did finish it though my heart went out to Mr Chris Perez. . . . recently the way I have started looking at losses particularly celebrities is that when they're taken from this world I theorize that god must have needed that person for a very special job up in heaven (but when you lose your own loved ones like I had just lost 2 grandparents 2 new years days in a row) it becomes nearly if not downright impossible to remember that same said theory
@@elizabethpohler2603 Yes, the book took me on a an-all night journey becuase the moment it came in the mail, I read the whole thing straight through until 6am the next morning. Selena would love you as a fan for being so emotional toward the end of the movie and book, but I don't believe God needed her that badly via murder. That was not the plan He had for her. There are many verses in the bible that state if you dwell in secret place of the Most High, He will protect you and give you discernment. I believe Selena was given multiple warnings by family and coworkers, but unfortunately, Selena did not listen. Even Yolanda pulling out that gun to show to her while they were in truck should have been a warning sign, especially if somebody is stealing from your business. Many will think I am victim-blaming, but I'm not. We have to come to a point where we can't put celebrities on a pedestal so high that they can't make mistakes. Selena was unfortunately naïve (NOT stupid). She wanted to see the good in everyone and it cost her.

I don’t say this to say that she was better than anyone, but chasing down those documents was a couple of steps beneath her. I’m sure anyone else in the family, boutique or lawyers would have done that work for her. @@JudgeDredd_ Well to be fair, Selena had a minor part in this as well. Her employees tried to confide and warn her about these red flags, but Selena didn't want to believe it until it was too late. And one would think after seeing a gun being pulled out while she was in the truck with Yolanda, that she would never allow herself to be alone with her again. Many have said that Selena was either naïve or just wanted to see the good in people. I think becuase she's Selena Quintanilla, people don't want to put any fault on her verses if she was just a normal woman living down the street from us working as a secretary. But from reading the book, I think there were very many times she should have listened to her family, and ESPECIALLY her husband. I think it's noble of you to want to take this of your girl's hands if in the situation. I think Chris tried to step in to help her, but when Selena set her mind on something, she did it.
I can understand where Chris was coming from, and why he would want to keep their personal life to himself, especially for years. There are certain things that needed to remain private and kept just between them, and I think there is just so much fans should know. Still I have wondered many times, to be married to a woman like Selena for three years, and she died tragically, where do you go from there? That is a hard reality to face. She was one in a million, or better, 100 million.

People call Chris all this nasty stuff like c'mon. You go through what him and Selena's family had to go through. He's constantly reminded about how his one true love was taken from him. He wrote this book to answer all the questions Selena's fan had about his relationship with her, not for the money.
@Martin. Many man look all their lives to meet a woman half as good as Selena. I once knew a woman who talked about "the love of her life." If that person ever comes into your life, there is no substitute. Things click and fall together in just the right places. There is synchronicity to the relationship that is very, very difficult to find with anyone else. You can try to have a relationship, but it is never quite the same. Sometimes a person comes along in life and changes fate.
Glad to see Chris finally deciding to write the story....the real story of his and Selena's relationship. When they came out with the 'Selena's' movie he was not ready to really devulge anything but now he is. It was just like when my Mom passed away. It took a few years before I could celebrate Mother's Day until I had my own child. I hope that the family will let Chris make a movie of his book. I would really love to see it. I'm a romantic at heart. Lol.

Sarah Stewart Why did he sign his rights away anyway? He was married to Selena after all for 3 years. I believe he was so deep in grief and depression that he was not thinking clearly when he signed that questionable contract. Fair is fair, and that contract sounds most unfair to Chris. I wish he had refused to sign it, until he had consulted with his own attorney. I wonder if it's too late to work on rescinding or making changes to that contract? It's sad when people have to fight over money, and legal rights, especially when it concerns a deceased individual.
Kristi Chris tried to have the suit thrown out but the Judge said that Abraham had a valid suit. So legally Chris's hands are tied. And yeah, Abraham I believe took advantage of Chris's grief bc Abraham is a business man and a control freak at the same time. But I don't believe he and Chris had any problems with each other until that movie deal Chris tried to attain. Unfortunately Abraham is now punishing Chris in banishing him from celebrating SELENA's life at the festival. Chris wasn't allowed to go last year and I think he posted online that he may not be allowed to attend this year either. I also hear that A.B. isn't attending either. I wonder what's up with that? A.B. probably told Abraham that if Chris couldn't attend that he wouldn't either. I wouldn't be surprised if he did say this bc A.B. and Chris are real tight and all. Last year Suzzette and Chris worked on SELENA's makeup line. So the siblings are very close with Chris. Chris has never said anything negative about his late wife's family. Very sad he and the father is battling it out in court. SELENA would be so upset to see two of the most important men in her life fighting like this.

He wrote the book in a respectable manner & even when this was in the book it was still written with respect. Just buy the book. I'm sure u'll love it! Chris mentions that they became "intimate" but he didn't go into detail. I am absolutely LOVING this book. To hear their beautiful story is just so.. inspiring! Bought this book & I Couldn't help but the tears go down my face. Their relationship was the definition of True Love. Selena was such an amazing person, it hurts that I never got to meet her..nor is she here..But she'll always be in myheart & in the hearts of millions who were touched by her .we love you selena

My favorite part of the book was where Selena was mad at Chris and she kicked the stuff off the bed. Selena looked so beautiful on the cover. I can't stop staring at her.
Wow I really wanna read his book now but I bet it's not open in stores now. I wish I could find it somewhere online now. It's sad that she's gone, it really is. And Chris truly didn't care about the fame and attention, he was just being real and genuine which is why he said in this interview that he never told any of her family that he wrote a book about it all. She died and is not coming back i dont mean it in a bad way but its true if he wanted fortune by using her name for he would of done it three years later...he was with his new wife but they divorced he will never love someone the way he loved selena. I was always confused about that part of the book. I had happened to interpret that a different way becuase the word 'intimate' can mean a lot of different things. Selena was also very religious, so I highly doubt she went that direction with Chris without them even being married. I kind of interpreted that as them realizing that their feelings just can't be ignored anymore. :) Not really sure.

This is where it get controversial. The family has issues with Chris and his side of the story because he revealed too much personal information that they feel is a violation of privacy.. Which is why Mr.Q sued him to stop production on Chris’s tv series based on his book about Selena. He doesn’t what what Chris wrote to be portrayed on screen. Selena preached about conservative values. She had a good girl next door with a family friendly brand. But what Chris revealed is that she did not practice what she preached. She cussed at home, she drank and she had premarital sex with him & her natural nature was to rebel & go against the grain. If you told Selena no she had motivation to prove you wrong. That side of her was portrayed in the movie when she was told she wouldn’t bungie jump & she when out & did it. Selena was human so personally how she lived her life in private doesn’t bother me nor does it does it make me look at her any different. I know Selena’s white lies were said with good intentions. She felt the pressure to be a role model to kids as most of her audience was young. I’m still a fan regardless and I understand the Q family wanting to keep her image intact the way SHE left it. But a lot of people take that as the family living in denial or ignoring the reality of what happened but I don’t see it that way. They’re just leaving things as is and they aren’t going to reveal things if Selena didn’t talk about it.

It took Chris yearssss 20 to release his book 📖 he respected her and they story.... Selena the movie came out 2 years after her death... meaning that after being buried her dad made a deal ....
I say religious becuase of the way she acted with Chris that one time with a certain album. I wasn't sure what that was all about. But It's weird becuase I kept reading the book until like 4 in the morning, but when I got to the end, i just kind of stopped becuase we all know what happened. But it that was a really good book. Thanks for some interpretations. I think I need to go back and read it :p

I loved Chris' book, To Selena, With Love...I loved his sharing of the beginning of their friendship which grew as they became closer and closer and eventually fell in love and married...a beautiful and true love story...Primo Amore...my only wish is that Selena had not been taken from Chris and this world to Heaven through such a tragedy...my wish is that Selena and Chris were together raising their children on their farm, msking beautiful music for TWWW and growing older together...sadly. my wishes are not realized...but more importantly, Chris lost the love of his life, his FOREVER, his besutiful wife...I thank you, Chris, for writing your book and sharing it with us❣ God bless you for sharing your and Selenas' life with us...we will love her forever and we will love you and pray for Gods greatest blessings for you❣🙏Stay strong, Chris❣

Selena died one yr before i was born. I cry everytime i look at her pictures and videos. So i can't even begin to imagine how it feels for chris to lose her. But am glad that she found true love... Thats rare...i read the book it's amazing...we get to see selena the person...i fell in love more with her. you go chris!
no kidding iam in my mid 50s and saw my two baby girls grow up singing selena songs and trying to act her lol but her tragedy touch our lifes like if she was one of our family members my daughter bought the book an said dad you should read it i am not much of a reader cause it makes me sleepy but i have to say from the moment i pick up the book i could not put it down actually i read the whole book in one day WOW !! what a roller coaster ride of emotions this book will be number 1 thanx chris

Omg it must be so awkward doing it in the bus when the entire family were also presence feels like it could also happen in the selena movie when she and kissing were caught kissing by one of the band member as well however he reaction was effortlessly hilarious but too bad her family want her image to stay clean even in the movie
No her father wasn't driving and whole band members are not there . They were eating I guess and both of them left inside the bus and things happened😅😅😅

The book tells everything about Chris being with selena. I 'm nearing the end of this book and I find myself holding off to finish it. Because I know the out come. Just like Mr quintanilla book. Hard to finish it too. That damn yolanda broke so many lives. How much could this family take. Rot in hell yolanda.
Read “Selena with Love” twice amazing book Phenomenal I’ll definitely read it for the third time. I highly recommend the read even if you’re not a fan.
I’m happy that he realized that if he didn’t begin to share and re-insert himself into the narrative, that he would write himself out of it completely. Which would be awful, because it was such an important part of who Selena was, how she asserted her autonomy and a bastion of her love for him.
remember when Salena said that Chris was so quite that she had to smack him to make sure he was alive, well he changed. he was cold, and distance, but now he's more open. man hopefully I find a man that will cherish me the way Chris cherished Salena.
I loved this book. This is a book I would have wanted to read back in middle school when the English album first came out but oddly even after all these years I was still just as interested and cried at the end as if it were all new.
