Criminally underrated Maiden track. This song is what sold me on Iron Maiden. It's so much fun to listen to. I find something new every time. Thank for posting this!
And hundreds of times it was heard. By me! OMG I knew this was coming. 1st Maiden song I attempted to Iearn in early 80' high school. Problem was I was doing all 3 guitar parts on my own. Sounded like Shnaz to me but my buddy's were jst amazed. I can clearly see I was doing it all wrong. Can't wait to disect & finally figure how to play probably one of my fovorite songds. 👈👍🤘
This piece is amazing 👩Can you imagine Iron Maiden has not been inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of Fame? What is up with that? That is a travesty of justice! Where is this pride and arrogance coming from? Iron maiden earned thier right to be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame a long time ago, pieces like this one are a staple of they're genuine originality, from: Scranton, Pennsylvania
They were nominated but didn't get inducted - meanwhile, only 2 of the 7 inducteees this year make actual rock music. Like everything else, it's all politics and optics. 🤷🏻
Just amazing, you nail the entire catalog perfectly! To Tame A Land could perhaps be my favourite Maiden song, it's easily in my Top 5. Surely one of the densest, most intense ones they ever did. When that bass riff kicks in, supported by the swelling gong noise, it sweeps everything away like a tsunami. The vocals are also stellar. I'm still getting goosebumps even after so many years.
My thoughts exactly. This is my favourite heavy and epic album closer by Maiden. It's on the first Maiden album I heard in 1983 at age 13, and the one I return to most frequently, even forty years later. An interesting connection for me is that I was also listening to The Police album Synchronicity in '83. One of my favorite tracks on it is Tea in the Sahara. Another exotic and mystical sounding track which is heavy in a different way.
I was 13 when I heard an interview on the radio on my boom box and it was Bruce and Steve talking about a song they wrote about the novel Dune. The author hated heavy metal so no permission to name it Dune. They wrote it anyway and named it To Tame the Land then the song played. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!! Went and bought Piece of Mind and my friends the best album from the first song to the last what a tune and what an album!!
I just finished watching your performance of Innocent Exile prior to this one. Steve’s writing really grew in just a couple years and just a couple albums! Such a fantastic track this one! 🤘🤘🤘
2 hours 40 minutes left of 2021, I'm sipping Conkers gin and watching iron maiden covers. I thought the recent dune film was great. Best song from that record. Great sound, great production. Skills that kill.
Very awesome, this is the first Iron Maiden album I first heard when I was 12 years old, this was back when cassette tapes were out, he came to school with the piece of mind cassette and said, "you've gotta listen to this", I took it home and put my headphones on and was blown away and have been a fan ever since, great song and great cover as you always do. Thank you very much!
this is one of my most favorite tracks from Maiden. Great job Nico.. I love playing this song. I love to listen and/on play this one, gotta love all the time changes.
GREAT TUNE !!!! from the Greatest band of ALL TIME!! great skills love the leads well done. Looks like Frankenstein's mouth was trying to sing along !!!!
practice dude...lots of regular daily practice on scales, hammer-ons, pull-offs etc.... its all about building muscle memory.. I wish someone had told me this back when i first picked up a guitar..
First of all thank you very much for the kind words. Much appreciated! As for what and how to practice, like Airblazer mentioned, there are basic things one should practice regularly like picking exercises, hammer ons and pull offs, bends, stretches... Then you should also work on your control of embellishments such as harmonics, vibrato etc... This is all standard stuff one can do with exercises I'm sure you've seen a thousand times in books and videos. It's a bit different when you start to reach a point where you can start to play at a decent level but get stuck there and progress becomes more challenging. How to get past that is going to be different for everyone and a good teacher can help you get over that hurdle for sure. I explain a bit how I worked through some sticking points in my video "A Different Kind Of Exercise...." so maybe check it out and hopefully that will be helpful to you too. Good luck!!!
Here's a great question to all you maiden fans. If you could name piece of mind after one of its tracks what would it be? For me it would be Die with your boots on. I think it's a fitting title
Cheers from Chile 🇨🇱 nice vids colection. Up the irons 🎶 Ps: At 2'18 I do play a faster picking in that link. Like 5 strokes in the fisrt note. My ear says that to me lol
Sai io invece preferisco il titolo che ha. To Tame A Land per me è uno dei più bei titoli per una canzone! Molto pittoresco ed azzeccatissimo alla canzone.
Great song and cover 👍 shame that Herbert didn't allow to use the title Dune. Strange, because loads of metalhead would have probably bought the book... The flamenco part of this song are highly inspired by Asturias of Isaac Albéniz
Thanks a ton man!! For some reason I always found this song intimidating when I was younger so I had never actually learned it. It was nice to really delve into it after all those years ☺️ Glad you enjoyed it!!
Hey that's really awesome to hear (errrr...read... whatever) because do try to make the covers at least watchable and hopefully entertaining also for non musicians who might just be interested in understanding the music and guitar parts a bit more. Thank you!!
F#@King love it;-) Great great song, and well done, Brother. It's a shame you didn't put up the name of the guitar player(s) you were playing at that time, lol You know what I mean;-D Keep it going, Bro, as you are awesome;-P Up the mighty Irons!!!!
@@cjones3093 Well not everyone finds it that easy! I certainly cant🤔 I honestly can't tell what guitar they use, just from the tone, either🙉 Up the mighty Irons 🤘 🤘🤘🤘
Please... I'm far from a master of anything. Just Nico is fine, brother! 🙂 For that POM sound, try keeping the bass and treble around 3-4 and the middle up high around 7. Not too much gain and then add either a tube screamer or an MXR Distortion for color but again, don't use too much gain. That's a good start I think. Of course a lot depends on your amp, pickups and most importantly, your fingers!! 😃
Tutto con Bias FX II. Per questo ho usato un preset che mimica relativamente bene il sound di POM - modificandolo un po' a modo mio. Certo non è identico ma non è niente male per un plugin!
Hello, what a good cover did you get, I also got a song from IRON MAIDEN hope you like it and the channel has many more covers and I hope you join the channel, there are many bands, friend thank.....
