Read up on Bravo Two Zero, it was a SAS Team that got dropped off 100 yards from 100s of Iraqi soldiers during the Gulf War, they were fckd before they left because the commanders in the TOC didn't use key intelligence, so daybreak and they have APCs and 100s of soldiers coming for them. they got separated and what happened next is one of the most underrated tales in Specail Forces history.

Would it be fair to say that the aust commandos are the same as the green berets in the us or delta force? Also i believe they train near swan island in victoria?

If you mean they are all SF then yes. But theres not really any point trying to draw comparisons.

7071t6 Green Berets and Delta are very different in their own rights. 2nd Commando Regiment is above 75th Rangers and similar to SEALs but not ST6 and with less emphasis on water operations. Swan Island is a significant classified training installation of Australia’s foreign intelligence agency. It is not a special forces training facility however an unofficial SASR unit presence on the island has been known to exist for some years after The Age newspaper blew their cover in the mid 2000s. SASR are similar to Delta/CAG and ST6/ DEVGRU. In actuality SASR was formed in 1957 while Delta was formed in 1977 to the best of my knowledge.

This is informative and interesting, but for Pete’s sake, turn the darned music down so we can hear the commentators!! This channel is horrible about this on many videos! Honestly, the music isn’t even necessary.
