Unfair race as subaru has extra bhp and rob has overtune his too much just to win race but end up blowing his engine. Not honest race. How come rob you don't know who is Affi clearly making excuses as you was fully aware that why you hell tune your subaru in end you deserve boil eggs engine blow up 🎉

@@rajayusuf3288 Sti blew up because he money shifted it. Not because of the power. And it also put a bus length on the Gtr twice after it was money shifted to 11k Rpm.

They are race cars built for it usually you rebuild a built racing engine every 5000 to 10000 km that's even just pushing it to much. The gtr is quick but heavy would've been interesting if they had been same bhp. But as I said they had known what they had got into they had known each others bhp and like men raced and that's what racing is

Quafe gearboxes can be bang shifted they are sequential exactly what ken block and everyone like that uses

Honestly I prefer watching those videos on this channel. I’m more likely to skip the paddle shifting cars because the guys usually look bored driving.

It's really not that impressive. The dualclutch auto/paddle shifters are just faster and seing the guy in the subi misshift multiple times hurt my heart

@@jondrizzle4554 Its why paddle shifters are offered on sportier model vehicles. Especially for running good times around track. All you do in drag is "bury the throttle" and shift. There's a limit for how engaging/ fun drags can be. Autos are quicker than manual and those with a auto-manual/paddle shift option is peak. Best of both worlds for drag times and track efficiency. It's more so what you drive and how you drive rather than auto vs Manual. Best option is auto with paddles shifting for all-around use. The guy in the video had it hard cause he was misshifting, my advice to him would be just to go sequential

Manual is for fun driving round twisty country roads if you like that sort of thing. Its an engaging drive I agree. For drags and daily driving, you cant really beat autos. I dont consider this more exciting to watch.

@@michaelhorsman3380 From what I remember it can happen to any of the boxer engines at any power. My impreza was 380, luckily it didn't happen. Someone in the comments might be able to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's a consequence of the design of the engine, making it shorter was the downfall of the crank and its bearings. Again, just from memory, the crank shells in the 2.0 boxer bottom end are 16mm wide. An equivalent engine, or like for like car I should say is maybe the evo. Their crank shells are 20mm wide. The narrower shells in the impreza restricted it from dissipating heat efficiently. So poor oil and/or a lead boot was the contributing factor that made the shells warp or shift. Don't take this as fact, its the conclusion I arrived at after some research and life experience!

Oh for sure, I was surprised how well it still managed to pull away considering the bad shifts. The driver of the R34 gets props for his shifts though, he knows how to peddle it!

Better gear changes cant make up 1.2 seconds difference on the 100-200.. thats a millenia difference between the cars not a little behind lol, gtr needs alot more power to even it up.

@@brucewayne2397 considering the difference in HP the GTR seems miles more efficient in its power over the Subaru, RB is a miles better engine overall

@@moodyk1979 racing isnt about efficient its about winning as no one turned up to be efficient, f1 cars are not very efficient. the subaru won by 4 cars and is the faster car by a mile as the data doesnt lie. 1.2 seconds if anything shows its no more efficient as im not quite sure you understand how big that gap is, 0.2 seconds is a gap, half a second is massive, 1 second is a different league. Gtr would need another 100hp at least to even get close to that time. To give you an example i added 200hp to my m6 and its 100-200 jumped from 7.4 to 5.9

@@brucewayne2397 obviously you don’t understand what I mean by efficient :) I’m an engineer, and I mean the efficiency in the transfer of HP to the wheels. If you don’t have good efficiency through engine and gearbox the end result is useless. If Affi had around 800HP matching the Subaru, watch the difference then. And yes, F1 do look at the efficiency for drive train loss? How do I know? My cousin is an F1 engineer, and also with my cars of E55 AMG, RS6, UR Quattro, and even my daily diesels I understand where the HP can be obtained to give the best results. Not arguing and not disagreeing but telling you that the Subaru engines are not the best in a long way, and Affi knows how to drive miles better than most :) if he had a sequential I think it would have been a different result or even more closer

@@moodyk1979 dude no offense but your job which engineering has nothing to do with engines (im a qualified mechanic) doesnt change the result or a gapping of 1.2 seconds, but the efficiency is nothing to do with power to the wheels, its to do with larger displacement, 2 extra cylinders, the power to the wheels between both will be negligible with similar manual transmission loss. If you want to see efficiency then try explaining and understanding this and lets see you change your opinion lol- the most powerful sequential gtr on the leader board has 930hp and it did a 10.48 1/4 mile yet a subaru with only 705hp sequential did a 10.61, that is a 0.13 second difference with 230 hp difference so now tell me who is more efficient??😂😂🤣😂🤣 Even worse as when i explained 1.2 seconds the difference you could not see the significance between them. Like i said numbers don't lie and now your efficiency has been reversed on you which you have no comeback against as the subaru is more efficient. The board is there for you to go through at your leisure. The subaru won by a mile. In general board aside history has shown the subaru to be the faster more efficient car as andy Forrest who mapped my car did a 7.9 with 1300hp, find me a gtr that can do that time and tell me what power it has lol.
