To The Point: Austrian Audio Hi-x65 

Love this format. Appreciate your full reviews but often don't have the time for the whole thing, and for items where I'm interested in passing, this shorter format makes it more accessible.

You have to factor in that they are made in Austria 🇦🇹 as well. Other companies charge the same price for an over seas make.

Hi-X65 is so transparent they are very honest in conveying the mix of the music. It doesn't have a characteristic to its sound signature, it is more of a chameleon. It sounds very different depending on the mix and the amplifier you use on it.

I ordered them last week. Stumbled over this video today, because I wanted to hear a different perspective. Mainly, because i´m very uncertain what to think about them / to negotiate if something about my setup just isn´t optimal enough to make a full impression of these HPs*. So (..) I can confirm most of the points mentioned in this video myself. This Headphone absolutely isn´t for everyone. The Resistance (ohm) makes it easy enough to drive them, to work for basically every potential user. But the Sound isn´t. At first listening I was stunned by the sound stage combined with the rich detail. I think that´s something this HP does very well. subjective frequency perceiving was irritating. the Sound does not feel very dynamic. To maybe relate better, to me this HP triggers the need to turn the volume up and up, through listening periods, to _"hear everything"._ After EQing (generally not a fan of), I was blown away and couldn´t stop listening to different tracks for about 90 minutes. Different level of listening, than I had ever before. but for everything else (movies/twitch/RU-vid) it´s too "agressive", too forward. so it´s not compatible or "balanced" enough to deliver any type of content on an enjoyable level for more than let´s say 30 minutes. (still music gets tiring after some time, but sounds stunning in its own way) Such a good sound stage for movies.. *Quick notes on the rest:* *Cons* -not an open feel. (isolation, heat, sound signature in some picky ways) -Could be too small for large heads (I´m on the biggest setting of the headband, whilst heaving a big head) -Because they are isolating a lot for an open-back, I still got pretty warm ears after aprox. 1h. -headband´s too stiff for me. too much pressure on head. (surely after some time it´d be better) *Pros* -huge space for big ears, despite the physical size/appearence of the HP. -good build quality -good cable(s), nice locking mechanism -compact enough for mobile use for intense music sessions they´re stunning (with parametric AutoEQ) sooooo much potential for movies. such a good sound stage and detail. the sound is perceived so much bigger and wider than you would expect from such a compact HP, or even generally. so, for me personally, they´ll probably be send back, after testing it on a different DAC AMP tomorrow. too much of a _"listening to the headphone, not the content"_ thing for me. The HP wants to present the sound in its own special way. still good value from certain perspectives, good HP, doing a lot of things very good/right. _If you´re still with me here, thanks for your time. Interesting how except you no one else talks about austrian audio. I think they are the only ones that are not focusing on cutting corners for profit while still being affordable, a non-luxury but quality brand.

Hey, i am working with linux gaming build, i used Beyerdynamic Custom Studio for few years, bought Epos H6 Pro with their GSX 300 amp, was very dissapointed, sound is quiet and muddy. Was thinking about Sundaras, but now after watching a lot of your videos i got stuck between x65 and m1570, which one should i choose for music and gaming, leaning towards m1570, because its best for the price and better then Sundaras or should i go with someting else?

Man I've been searching from a comparison between the X65's and the Avantone Planar's..mixing wise(neutral). I have the Planar's on right now, and I have to take them off every 15 minutes because they are heavy and get soooo sweaty! Tired of it but are great for mixing. How is the weight between both? Comfort? I also don't like bright cans as I had the DT880's for a while. I need a detailed comparison between both.

Do the x65s isolate worse than x55? Isolation is important to me. Thanks
