Facts. I think I've capped out on emotional damage and have to stop at ep 1, but it was devastatingly beautiful. Very devastating T.T

I dont know why but it made me go into a really deep existential questioning and melancholy, of this kid thinking it was spending the last moment of his life, and probably the last of his tribe, with his companion but it really was another thing that didnt even know his name. How many people have died like that? Alone with no one at their side? Just a dot in the scheme of things that not even a single person will remember your name for some time, you will practically be in oblivion the second you die. Not even his death made me sad, it was this questioning that my mind was doing to itself.

@@d.ml.g9902 I felt this exactly, and the 1 in a trillion chance that this boy is what Fushi needed to evolve. He died thinking no one would ever remember him but now his face is known by millions.

Ultimately his name is unimportant, the point is that he gave inspiration to a being that didn't need to take his form. He breathed life into a literal rock*...he gave it reason, purpose, and emotion. Point to the people who do the same in your lives, not their names.

I heard it started out fantastic but lost it’s focus towards the end. I mean I watched it up till the tree creature but HBO cut it off before ... I couldn’t really afford another subscription.

It was just overshadowed by so many other anime especially Attack on titan, Jujutsu Kaisen & Odd taxi

@@rubycore1013 it didn’t exactly lose it’s focus but the island arc was not really as emotionally well built as the rest, we didn’t get a lot of reasons to like tonari or her crew or feel sad for them

Lol had the same reaction after i saw the second episode, i dont know why but the first Episode catches you on an emotional level. And usually i dont get sentimental about anime. The rest of the anime is , like you said, unfortunately not very good , does not live up to the first Episode at all.

@@originated712 they both died due to a leg injury, and also, they both technically died without the other present, since Joaan the wolf died alone far away from the nameless boy, and the nameless boy died without Joaan there, because it was actually Fushi who was just taking Joaan's form.

Exactly. When you look at the cover of Vol. 1 you can see boy smiling the way that Fushi never did and never will. So full of life. Then again, they’re two completely different personalities even if they share appearance.

This aged like milk, but I can't say I'm too unhappy about it. Spoilers: Fushi has the ability to revive the dead as long as their "souls" (fye) are still around to inhabit the body

Tonari I think yelled at Fushi telling him something along the lines of “You think we’re just you’re friends you can keep reviving,” been a year since I last read though so I might be wrong.

This and The Promised Neverland know how to make their first episodes right. (And Tokyo Ghoul imo)

Yeah this is the only episode of the entire series that made me sad/cry, I’m not so sure on the crying part. I can’t remember if I did cry or not.

it doesn't have enough popularity, the hype never kicked off with this series probably because it was overshadowed by Jujutsu kaisen, Odd taxi and Attack on titan unfortunately

I hope this series becomes the immortal anime. I'm looking forward to not only season 2 but hope they produce a season 3 because that takes place in the modern era and it would unite all of my favorite genres and one anime series.
