As a former smoker who can’t stand the smell, the tobacco note is one that I try to avoid. It’s been over 15 years since I’ve quit and I actually learned to hate the smell of both tobacco and tobacco smoke.
This is actually my experience as well. I liked the smell initially, but quickly discovered how overpowering and cloyingly sweet the vanilla smelled on me (I like sweet fragrances). After 30 minutes or so I actually scrubbed it off as the dry down was making me nauseous.
I'm starting to learn... great fragrances aren't necessarily horrible they just may not be for you... I have tried spice bomb on three occasions and red mancera...lot of ppl love them they just not for me...
I enjoy this fragrance. Just yesterday I received so many compliments from women and men. I find it a little strong in the beginning and then after about an half hour, not so much. I could still smell it. I used this for work to see how I felt about this and although I received many compliments, it’s more of a special occasion, winter scent. ❤
I’m stuck deciding between Noir Anthracite and Noir Extreme Parfum. I love the spicy leather thing, but I also love the old-school chypre stuff. I might just get both and call it a day.
I will admit, I had the same reaction when I tested it, twice. However after smelling it on others, it actually smells very nice. I think it's a very strong fragrance, so upclose it's abit overconcentrated.
AH Amber Oud Tobacco edition is a winter staple. It's TF TV killer, and projects into the next day. I own both and I prefer Amber Oud a tad bit more, the original is just a touch creamier and sweeter. Unless you shove your nose into your skin, you won't tell the difference.
I think Alot of Tom Ford fragrances are hard to get your nose around. I myself absolutely detest ombre leather... It smells like an old couch on a hot day... But things like Noir Extreme are great.. But maybe just that's my type of scent profile that's for me.. I know people who love tobacco vanille and ombre leather etc.
As a smoker have to say it is a very disappointing tobacco fragrance but it isn't bad at all, not very masculine either but it was never meant to be. Perhaps the one who disliked the scent didn't think tobacco leaf was actually sweet in real life, just that its famous smell is from its dried and ignited form.
Not a big fan of tobacco, and TV is a no for me. My favorite tobacco fragrance is a Tiff Benson-named combination (called Tiff) from the Olfactory NYC fragrance brand using their Hunter base frragrance with added notes of tobacco, cardamom, vanilla, my second fave is Versace The Dreamer
Agree with the comment, Tobacco Vanille is super cloying and I've never been able to make out the tobacco note in it. It honestly just smells like honeycomb
The decant I have of Tobacco Vanille is also repulsive while the ones I smelled at department stores are delicious. Either I got a fake, the juice I was sold turnt bad or the versions can be completely different. 🤔
honestly, most, not all, but most vanilla fragrances i tried are just horrible. When i tried Tobacco Vanille i was genuinelly surprised that anyone of human race would willingly wear this on them and think "wow this sure will smell nice to others". It smells like a someone is wearing a whole clothing set made of pure tobacco and TAR. L I T E R A L L Y. Trust me there are more people like me around you. One of rare cases i would actually you rather not have any fragrance on you at all than this.
You're missing the point, Tom Ford aren't meant to mass appeal, they're meant for you to be "You people dont like the fragrance? I don't give af, I like this smell and that's what I only care about. Get lost"

Its actually kinda bad, just tried it, smells like vanilla with light tobacco smell. But its overly sweet like honey idk why its popular, definitely not for me. This is why you cant just go off reviewers opinions and really have to smell it yourself. Cause every reviewer will tell you its incredible but imo definitely not great, wouldn't buy it even if it was 100 bucks.
