Ben and David, I appreciate what you said about the American veterans. My daddy was a WW2 veteran. He served in the South Pacific. Thank you for your respect and kindness.
Just did the B & D Madeira excursion from the sky princess today. Walked off the ship and retraced your steps. Thanks for planning the perfect time for our short visit to the isle of Madeira!
This is undoubtedly the best cruise channel on RU-vid. I recommend it to everybody I know that loves cruising. You guys make it so much fun. Keep up the spectacular work.
We are always congratulated on Holland for being the youngest couple on board (early 50’s). The other passengers are usually fascinating company, Holland still has a real promenade deck, and the itineraries can be varied, unusual, and out of the way. We are platinum on Carnival but love Holland the most.
Hey guys ! Great video as always. I’ve been on Holland America for RSVP cruises so it wasn’t the normal crowd . The staff told us the average age is normally 105 lol . The ships were nice and service good but I prefer Celebrity and then Royal Caribbean 😎😎😎
Just got off the Carnival Celebration, and wow, wow, wow. Have always wanted to go to Spain and Portugal. It looks so lovely, and you both seem to be having a grand time. Note to self, starting psyching self for toboggan and lift rides 🎢🚡. Again, another excellent cruise vlog
Ben and David, I also appreciate your kind words about the American veterans. My father was also a WWII veteran, who was at Pearl Harbor. Thank you for your respectful attendance at the celebration.
That was so considerate of you guys thanking a us veteran for his service. My father and all my uncles served in ww2 and Korea And a aunt who was a nurse as well during the war
You guys are a riot - you brighten my day! Koningsdam is one of my favorite ships - wonderful variety of music venues... Great theater shows and fabulous food - you guys should try one of those Dam ships!
Thanks for another terrifically entertaining, fun, and informative video. Always enjoy your adventures (and misadventures)… I am struck by how much Madeira, Portugal looks like Southern California!
@@karenvonbargen4472 yes, I know. I live in west Los Angeles. What I am talking about are the mountains and the houses on the hillsides…the foliage…looks like parts of Southern California.
The toboggan ride is great fun! Glad you enjoyed it! When we were in Funchal, my partner took the cable car up, but I got a taxi. No way I could do that. The tropical gardens are magical.
HAL has great itineraries, food, and service, and premium feel without the big price tag. Love the music walk and adult only seaview pool deck. Dive In Burgers are fantastic with a few veg options. The Dutch Cafe is not to be missed.
Hi Guys. My hubby and I love Holland America. It is VERY ADULT! Not really for kids. It is very "PROPER". the staff used to wear the bellmen's cap and uniform. We loved it! Food is great and accommodations were lovely. We have not been on a cruise since November 2019 and we are aching to go! Discussing a trip to Bermuda, which we love.
I would love to see you guys make more Holland American cruises! Watching other vlogs and researching makes me pretty sure that that line would be the best fit for me. And needless to say that their food is the best of the affordable cruise lines according to reviews!
NOPE for me on the toboggan--I was screaming along with you guys! Loved the WWII tribute, and your version of "Proud to Be an American" song lyrics. Looks like great start to your cruise! Haven't tried Teppanyaki but your review makes me put it on my wish list! Also, the Celebration! Thanks for great segment!!
Madeira looks beautiful. So glad you survived your near death experience in the wooden basket toboggans. Thank you for all the food tips too. Another fun day with Ben and David!
About 20 years ago myself and a former partner (a new one now!) took a Costa Cruise of the Mediterranean (when the cruise line had an Italian crew) and we did the toboggan too. Great fun. Madeira was very beautiful with colorful flowers everywhere. Well done, you two.
I love Madeira, it's absolutely stunning. There is a lovely café up at the top where you can sit, have a coffee and take in the stunning views. As soon as you said Madeira I knew exactly how you were coming down - I LOVED IT lol. The guys are brilliant taking you down, well worth it. x
We loved Madeira too, so pretty! Did the sailaway from the gym; beautiful scenery to distract us from the workout. We missed the toboggan ride; maybe next time. We did as awesome tour with up mount Madeira.
Madeira is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend going land based as there is so much to see and do. I’ve been twice and only covered Funchal. You must try the local Poncha you’ll feel rather merry once you have!
Thank you Ben and David for this video of Madeira it takes me back 50 years to when I visited and the Toboggan ride was a cobbled road, so think yourselves lucky LOL X
I told my daughter about both of you, and now she is watching your video's with me, Ben she love you, she thinks your so funny, and David we love you as wells
I have sailed on Holland America 4 times. We were very happy with the ship. Food was wonderful . Rooms were very comfortable. We are thinking of sailing with them in 2024.
Great video!! We just booked a Celebrity cruise for the 28th of this month!! We are going to Orlando for business, so we figured why not hop on a ship! We live in the West Coast (Oregon), so we need a bit of sunshine & Vit D. Really wanting to book a trans Atlantic soon. The Celebration looks AMAZING! Thanks for getting my Sunday of to a fun start Ben & David.
I am currently on the HAL Koningsdam in the Mexican Riviera, on a seven day cruise! Their ships are lovely, their buffets are top of the line and their staff is superb!
Pastel natas …heaven ! Go my Portuguese brothers, the toboggans are the best thing I’ve ever seen. On celebrity cruises it’s food in the back fun in the front so you don’t get lost..lol
STOP IT! My filthy mind can’t take it much more!!! 😂😂😂 literally the first few minutes and I’m sniggering already!! Also, we did the toboggan in 2016 and it was amazing! ❤ I got to video it so that made me happy to go back and watch it again!
You need to go on Holland, the service is amazing, it's really nice and the good is wonderful!! It's not really for old people, it's a lie! 😂 You both are the best! David and his spicy breakfast burrito ❤️
My wife and I look forward to your adventures every week. Love you to come down under for some cruising. Our next cruise in March. Circumnavigation of Australia. You guys keep our cruising appetites keen with your enthusiasm and positive attitude. Keep up the great work Ben & David.
Greetings from an Australian viewer currently in Istanbul! We spent a week in Porto preCovid and our challenge was to find the cheapest espresso + pasteis de nata. 1€ for the two was the best we ever did! Continue to enjoy yourselves
I have sailed 4 times on Holland America. Food was wonderful and service was great. This last trip we ended up eating every meal in the buffet. Wonderful choices, well prepared. We stayed in a suite and the room met our expectations. 11:25
Carnival's buffet is not the only thing wrong with them. Weather old ship or new ship I'll never lower myself to taking a Carnival. So far haven't seen anything to change my mind to date !!!!!
Funny you should ask about the Koningsdam. My Wife and I did Alaska in Sept of 2022 and it was fantastic. We've been on NCL, RCH, Carnival and I have to say when we were aboard the HAL Ship I felt like it was on very posh Ship. I mean I haven't been on many ships at only 6 cruises but, I would love to know what you guys think about the Koningsdam! I would go on it again in a heartbeat. One thing I did feel is that the HAL ship needed more entertainment, I felt like I've seen better entertainment on other ships.
You guys totally need to do a HAL cruise! I just got off of the Konigsdam yesterday and it was fabulous. I also sailed on Nieuw Amsterdam last May in Alaska. Excellent food, service and venues both cruises.
HAL is on my bucket list -- do you believe it would be suitable for a family of 6 ? ( parents and four kids ) We are openminded! Sailed Carnival, NCL, Royal and Disney :) Thanks!
I really enjoy watching you two! So many of the channels that I watch only show the Caribbean . I like that you travel the world. You help me to add to my bucket list.😊
My very first cruise was on HAL (Nieuw Statendam) just last March. 11-day southern Caribbean. LOVED IT. It skews much older, but I didn't care (I had my 50th bday on board - most people were 10+ years older than me). The thing about HAL is they do a lot of really unusual cruises. My dad is currently on the Voldendam, going through the Panama Canal en route to Tierra Del Fuego and around Cape Horn, as I type this.
Going ‘round the Horn is such a great Holland America experience, we spoke to a captain who said it was the route they all wanted because it was actual sailing, not repeating the same route week after week. We are headed out on Oosterdam on February 2 to go from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso, Chile. We are excited
Highly recommend Holland America, especially their newer ships. We have spent over 200 days on their ships. Unique, longer itineraries. Wonderful food, best afternoon teas. Spacious showers.
Omg, I love your guys, you just happen to pop up on list of videos that I watch, and I'm glad you did. Can't wait for my husband to watch your video's with me.
Those gardens look amazing, we've been to Maderia twice and both times it's been raining so never got to see them. Thanks guys a least we now know what we've missed.
The pork tacos with green tomatillo sauce, cheese, tomatoes and sour cream is the best. The burritos with the chicken sausage, hash browns and Mexican eggs are great too… Blue Iguana Is great !
Your fun is infectious! Made some fresh baked cookies to enjoy along with you while you chow down on your goodies. Will have to come up with some new pastries and desserts each week. May also need to add a walk at the end!
I would love to go to Portugal it looks amazing and I do agree with you the buffet breakfast on Carnival is very limited compared to other cruise lines great video guys
We loved the Mardi Gras and can’t wait to go on the Celebration! Love watching you guys! You have to try the chefs table on Carnival if you have never done it. It is fabulous!
Yes, I have sailed HAL “Have It All”. Food is great, the music walk is fantastic. Standard balconies are nicely appointed. Toiletries are Elemis. Make sure you sail pinnacle class. HAL’ private island, Half Moon Key is fabulous.
I saw a documentary on how ships were put together, it was riveting. Lol.still wish I was carrying your bags, you guy a re a great chuckle, happy new year
