asriel/ralsei is white, cute, and fluffy like the annoying dog. The "orb of ultimate power" dog gag in undertale is unlocked by playing asriel's theme on the piano. This theory seems real promising!!
A small addendum I’d like to point out: Kris’ room in Queen’s Mansion has the ‘Video Game Piano Tutoriel’ gag but this could further corroborate your idea as Kris either was or intended to provide music for Asriel’s game project.
The thing I love about this theory is that it doesn't necessarily change anything about the story, it just gives us a new way to look at the existence of Ralsei and Kris' relationship with Asriel for how it will play into the story. If it is true that the dark worlds HAVE been specifically constructed in a way that reflects the adventures they had as kids, and Ralsei is SPECIFICALLY the self-insert OC of Asriel, then that implies that Ralsei and these dark worlds could only be created by somebody with direct KNOWLEDGE of their past as kids. And yes, that implies exactly what you would think; it means Kris is the Knight. Perhaps Kris holds the green crayon and it turns into Ralsei, or perhaps Ralsei is simply a thought manifested into reality through the dark world, who knows, but regardless of what the exact manifestation of Ralsei comes from, it is very implied that it only happens because of Kris' presence within the dark world, especially by this theory, and it also cleanly explains how Ralsei travels between them without a physical connection. However, regardless of your willingness to accept Kris Knight and the idea that Deltarune the "game" is a game in the LITERAL in-universe sense, constructed by Kris, I've had my own theory regarding the prophecy of Deltarune that I believe plays into this as well; the prophecy is NOT set in stone. To be clear, I mean that the primary characters in the prophecy- a Human, a Monster, and a Prince from the Dark- are NOT necessarily strictly Kris, Susie, and Ralsei. Why? Because in the start of the game we made a human vessel, home town is FILLED with monsters (but I'd say Noelle would be the most likely alternative), and Lancer is literally the son of a King, thus a "Prince from the Dark". The purpose of this? To allow the prophecy (or, the "one ending" of Deltarune) to be fulfilled in multiple ways depending on the context that led to it occurring. Perhaps a pacifist route WILL end with Kris, Susie, and Ralsei, but perhaps the WEIRD route will end with the Vessel, Noelle, and Lancer, who knows? Maybe specific actions at key plot points can even lead to COMBINATIONS of these 6 characters, or entirely different ones altogether. But what does this have to do with Ralsei being Asriel's OC? Asriel LITERALLY self-inserted into the story, as did Kris. For all we know, they were never the original heroes at ALL, and since the only source of knowledge we have about said prophecy comes FROM Ralsei, he literally inserted himself into the story to find purpose. The prophecy having multiple interpretations even goes back as far as Undertale when Gerson directly spoke of the Deltarune prophecy, where the angel had duality of being either a hero of justice, or a deranged killer. Just because there is only one "end", doesn't mean that there aren't multiple ways to SAY "end".
I love how your theory expands on the duality that you've stated is very prevalent surrounding Deltarune, reminds me of my Player's Paradox theory in a way. I also incredibly appreciate the fact you expanded on my theory in general, thats truly the kind of stuff that makes doing this so meaningful (Much more than anything like money for sure).

this is such a great theory. not only does it make sense from a storyline standpoint, this would make deltarune 10x more gutwrenching and beautiful. i genuinely hope this is true because this is an ending i would be satisfied with.
And whats more interesting is that asriel is gonna return in the final chapter. I wonder, will this be a jaru reveal? Will ralsei have left the party? Turned to stone by the roaring? Or will they meet?
Loved it. Ralsei as Asriel self-insert is fun. I particularly like the idea that Asriel and Kris played in the unused classroom, that's so bittersweet. I know you didn't argue this in the video, but there could be something to the idea of every dark world relating to childhood memories. The house and the unused classroom would fit that nicely. They have memories together in the cafe and the church too, which will likely have dark worlds. The computer lab isn't a clean fit though, and you could argue that it's a small town, they have memories everywhere and it's not that significant. Also, I'd highly recommend Davinci Resolve. I deserted Premiere for it recently. There's a feature rich free version, so you won't need to pay or sail the high seas for it. You do a lot of cool animations; Premiere's keyframing system is very buggy in my experience. Ghost keyframes will manifest sometimes and you'll need to wipe all of your keyframes to fix it. Davinci's system is much easier to use and hasn't borked on me. Davinci also comes with motion graphics and compositing tools built in, meaning you can animate things programmatically, do object tracking, mask parts of the video, etc. Stuff I think you'd be interested in exploring.
Yeah I saw that idea in someone else's comment, it certainly should've been something I expanded upon as a possibility. I'll restate that it really reminds me of the Paper Trail comic which is kinda crazy cause that was written before chapter two iirc. And THANK YOU for such esoteric advice about editing, despite me having a few video essays under my belt I'm still super lost with that stuff. I guess its mostly just the case of me needing to venture beyond what I'm currently comfortable with.

It's good that you didn't expand on it IMO -- the video is probably stronger without it, and the fact that you've got people speculating on the implications of your theory is a good thing :) And no worries. You're a great editor and it's clear you're stretching the limits of ClipChamp. I think you'd find DaVinci/Premiere/AE more liberating once you get used to it.
This is one of the few theories I honestly fully believe in. It provides a unique perspective on how things came to be. Also I hope you get monetized soon enough!
Wow, so all the loactions are specifically where asriel played with kris, and they gave life to these toys. And they close the fountain, closing the loose end. ... Will we close closet fountain too? Speaking of closet, we could be hoarding toys from house and abandoned rooms to a sort of hideout by mom's work place. To a closed small closet, where you can come back to no matter what's happening outside. Maybe kris did that when he had to do homework, so asriel had to get him out, as older brother. Ralsei doing that might just be a parallel. A memory? Bringing back memories of those games over to new friends. Showing them the imaginary world they had, and making them love it. . . . So, noelle and kris explored forest "by the graveyard". Which could be bunker. And only after that, asriel (ralsei) comforted her. So, could it be that if we go in there, with a dark world, we would be alone, or just with noelle. And after... .. Nevermind. I think thats enough thoughts. These videos are so damn packed with content, wow.
I wouldn't certainly say that all the dark world locations will be where Asriel and Kris have played, but I also wouldn't deny the possibility. In fact that concept reminds me a lot of the comic Paper Trail.
with too much fountains destroying the balance of light and dark, im guessing that closing closet fountain (or as ralsei calls it, the grand fountain) will also destroy the balance of light and dark

Near half the video or so i had a random thought. Is it possible that the dark worlds are toby's past games he never completed too? The roth and sans and the ralse and ralsei connection kinda just made me wonder if theres other characters from toby's games or other games which he didnt complete that made their way to deltarune. Idk im jus spitballin
Certainly. Like I said at the end of the video, more theorists need to cover Toby's inspirations. He has a lot that he's been really vocal on and given this video, he follows his inspirations rather closely.
I’m only just now realizing this (and I’m sorry if it’s been mentioned by someone before)…but somehow I never noticed the last boss was a creature with “giant rainbow wings,” but that may explain how something in the computer lab would lead to Spamton having access to that exact design in the NEO fight!
Thats a really good point! I dismissed it at first cause I thought it was just cause Mettaton Neo (that inspired Spamton Neo cause Mettaton in Deltarune is still a ghost that dreams of achieving their ideal form which is Mettaton Neo referenced by Swatch) had wings but when I checked back they didnt. So yeah I guess its a fair possibility that Spamton Neo had influences from Asriel's ideal form too. Which could possibly support what other commenters have proposed of the dark world locations being where Kris and Asriel have played.
I really like this theory, and i kinda want to expand on parts of it. I think it is notable that when Toby is describing making games with his siblings, he was the youngest in that scenario, which is a parallel to Kris as well as Asriel. It could also be true that Ralsei was Kris' self insert character(they couldn't come up with something unique so they fell back on mimicking their brother) and Asriel took on a role of the DM in their games since he was older. He set up the toys and came up with ideas for Kris to play around in(and the concept of a dm in this way is very similar to the idea of the Knight which is interesting. Not saying Asriel knight is a thing but it's still interesting). I also really like this theory because it gives a solid reason for the location of the card castle fountain for both of the top knight candidates(imo), Kris or Alvin. Anyway, long comment short, i like the idea of Ralsei being a holdover from when Kris and Asriel played pretend. I can imagine Kris cringing at either their childhood oc or Asriel's goofy self insert and that resulting in the lowered tea healing they get.
Yeah certainly, in fact, there was an earlier iteration of the script that addressed the possibility of Ralsei being either of them, but I cut it for conciseness.
I like this theory. i already had the feeling that kris was meant to be some kind of self-insert of toby's. It is nice to see there is actually some evidence to support this.
Dount you'll see this but. I like the idea that Kris made a vessel for their game with asriel. Because ironically if you dont play chap 1 kris on the files has all the first options for the vessel except for gift which is mind. However, i feel that kris's avatar reflects their more creepy personality. What if Kris's vessel was the roaring knight. Also about kris not trying when they create things. It would make sense for their vessel to have all the first options and even more so if idk. They simply named their vessel Chara sort for Character. Cause kris didnt try to think of anythinf else
You bring up good points. I didn't want to lean too much into Kris' character being the vessel as it seemed a bit of a stretch at the time. But what you've brought up certainly helps the theory!
I really like this theory, but the thing that's always strange to me is how the "love" between Kris and Ralsei is portrait, because it's not brotherly but romantic, sweet home alabama i guess, anyways great theory! it's my headcanon now

Believe me I understand. But regardless of how you sway it, it will be weird. Ralsei will always be an Asriel lookalike no matter what theory. Also it's more directed at the player which may make it at least a little better.

For the one made out of Ralsei's sprite it's Ralsei's pink highlights just using Asriel's color palette. For the fully custom sprite it's meant to be from his dyed hair.
